  1. The Hawks were in attendance according to this link .
  2. From a Boston board - fwiw. Quote: Our local talk radio had a talk show host from Milwaukee on today for about 20 mintues this afternoon. Here are some quick points that he made: * The small sample that he has heard so far shows that most will be outraged if Andrew Bogut is the Buck pick. Feedback he is getting from longtime Buck fans is that they are still scarred from 1977 when Kent Benson was the consensus #1 pick and followed up with Keith Van Horn, Joel Pryzbilla and (one other name, i forget at the moment who). He is saying that it would be a PR nightmare if Bogut didn't turn out to be an All-Star. * Milwaukee backed themselves into a corner by not dealing Michael Redd at the deadline. They now face the strong possibility that the Ohio-bred Redd joins LeBron to take nothing but open jumpers for the next 10 years while receiving nothing in return. Redd has told Buck management that he is willing to remain in Milwaukee if they commit to winning. * Feels that by re-signing Gadzuric, drafting Marvin Williams and signing a "big name" free agent they have a real shot at convincing Redd to commit long-term to Milwaukee. The other possibility he sees is a trade for a high lottery pick to get one of the PGs (Paul or D. Williams) while snatching another starter out of the trade to go with them. * If they draft Bogut, they will let Gadzuric walk and the result will more than likely be losing Redd as well. Then you have Bogut as the lone centerpiece to build around and he isn't that type of player.
  3. Williams or Bogut. Take who's ever on the board. Paul's a bum.
  4. Quote: Elliot's lawsuit alleges that Vick has used the name "Ron Mexico" and, in a related court filing, her lawyers are seeking Vick's admission that he used the "Mexico" alias--and perhaps other fake names--"for the purpose of herpes testing and/or treatment." link
  5. Quote: Best case scenerio would be BOston does not make the playoffs and LA is 8th seed. No, because then we wouldn't get any pick. If Boston only gets one pick this year, they keep it. It doesnt' matter which one it is. We only get one if they have two, and then it's the worse of the two.
  6. Can't say that about any of the Babc0ck years! Props to BK!
  7. I like BK - I think he has it right, that it takes athletic freaks to win. There are great college players who will have no shot at the NBA. But guys with freaky hops, can be developed right out of high school if they work hard. I think BK wants to put 5 guys on the floor who all have 7 ft wingspans, which will shut down passing lanes, create lots of turnovers, and get lots of transition baskets. I think that's a winning idea. BK seems to have a plan to build the team with a certain type of player. I'm on board. (I'd say "I'm down with that", but I'm an old white guy)
  8. Quote: You guys make it seem that it must be a case where Boston and LAL had to make the playoffs for us to get the lower pick. Yup - Here's the details from a Boston site. If the Lakers make the playoffs this year we automatically acquire their pick from the original Payton trade. Either this pick or our own goes to Atlanta this summer. If the Lakers miss the playoff this year, the following year the pick is Top 10 protected ('06) so the same options hold true here as well. If for some reason the Lakers miss the playoffs in the next two seasons, the pick becomes Top 3 protected in '07 and Atlanta will receive the LOWEST of the picks between the Lakers, our own and the #1 acquired from Cleveland in the Jiri Welsch trade. (The the unlikely event that we still have the Laker pick in '08 it will unrestricted that summer.)
  9. I sat in the second row behind the scorer's table earlier this year in $75 seats. They weren't that good, because you are down on the floor, but the scorer's table blocked your view of the floor. I'm sure the player's bench has the same effect further down. The great seats are on the other side of the court, which is why they cost $450.
  10. Marty is averaging 2 pts and 2 boards in 10 mins this year in the euro league. He won't be NBA ready for years, if ever.
  11. He also said there were specific players they were interested in in both the draft and FAgency, and he seemed to say there were specific players further down in the draft where that new pick might be.
  12. Post on a Boston fansite... Quote: My inside guy with the Celts (he's with the team, not a personnel guy) called me a little while ago to ask me what i thought. He then told me that there are a lot of complexities with the draft pick going to Atlanta and he was told that the way it may play out is that we could end up giving them one of our two 2007 #1's. If so, we wuz robbed.
  13. The Celts have 2 1st round picks this year, and we get the lesser of the two. The other one is from the Lakers, but the Celts only get it if the Lakers make the playoffs. I'm not sure what happens if the Celts only have one 1st this year.

  15. Quote: and the only people he reminds me of are a much bulkier Kevin McHale Two words Dave Cowens He was one tough mofo in the middle.
  16. BK made some very excellent picks last year with all four of his picks (Chillz, Smooth, Ivey and Donte). All are going to stick with this team for a while. I wanna make 2 points.. Someone said that it was known that Dickau would eventually be good. Well sure, and he went late 1st round. A good C will not go late 1st round. Someone else wrote. Quote: BK made some very excellent picks last year with all four of his picks (Chillz, Smooth, Ivey and Donte). All are going to stick with this team for a while. Look, you have to be happy that BK is our man makiing the selection. You have to like the job he's done so far. We can play second guess all season long, but I'm completely comfortable knowing that he's in charge, and compare that to the Babs years, when Mr. Clueless was running the show.
  17. BK's modus operandi is to sign lengthy players at every position. Look at who we picked for a point guard last year. Royal Ivey is 6'5". There's lots of better point guards, but they're all 6'3" or shorter. Sure, Ivey will probably be a perenial back-up and some of these others like Paul will be NBA starters. But BK doesn't want defensive missmatches, which is why he'd have loved to have Shaun Livingstone from last year's draft. I say take Bogut with that high pick. But anybody who's paying attention as no regrets about drafting Chill. None, Zip, Nada.
  18. Why not. He just needs to shoot enough to keep defenses honest, which he did last night. He brings a lot of other skillz to the team. Heck, I'd be happy next year with a starting 5 of Diaw, Chill, Smoove, Al, Bogut, with Donta first up from the bench. But I'm crazy, so don't listen to me.
  19. C'mon People. He's FRENCH! You know, the country where everybody works 35 hour weeks and gets 5 weeks paid Vacation a year. And we're surprised he doesn't want to step it up???
  20. Read the article. The trade is the idea of the writer. Bird says there aren't any talks with Atlanta. End of story.
