  1. I don't see how this improves our team. Would anyone think we would make the easter conference finals with our new lineup.
  2. Smoove, Craw and Teague are likely our future. They have 5 years of good basketball left. For that trio, we would have to get back top 10 NBA talent.
  3. My only complaint with Brown is the fact that he stopped playing JJ Hickson in the playoffs. What kind of coach benches a player playing good basketball?
  4. I think you are answering your own question. :)
  5. I don't see the Hawks pulling off that many big trades this offseason. I would say maybe one big trade this offseason. Signing Salmons for the MLE would be a good idea though depending on what happens with Joe and Childress.
  6. Heart and hustle. Dwight was not really the problem...they beat us when he was on and off the floor. I agree with Kenny Smith. He said that we were going to lose the series and then replayed two uncontested break-away lay-ups as the reasoning.
  7. Agreed...trade 1 is definitely the way to go, if it can get done. Like someone said, this trade won't affect us getting any of the bigs on our radar.
  8. Can't see the article...what are the main points?
  9. If they buy him out and he clears waivers, then of course. Aside from what he will do on the court, he represents more tickets sales and revenue.
  10. AA seats on the bench/press side (section 115 side) are not that good. You are on the same level as the team/press and you have to constantly look over and through them to see the action.

    Garrett Siler?

Not to stir up disagreement, but I feel rather confident that Mario will make the team.
  12. This should probably be a poll question, I believe that we can will 35 - 40 games without Joe and that will probably be good enough to make the playoff in the East. Our main competitors for 8th place would be Detroit, Indiana, Charlotte and Philadelphia. All these team have huge question marks even at full strength.
  13. Considering what Danny Granger and Roy got, this contract is perfect. As a side note, doing a back of the envelope calculation, I believe the max that another team can offer is roughly 80 million over 4 years. So considering the likelihood of Joe not getting the absolute max, and if 16 million is in front of him, I'd bet he would take it. I also think the 4 year extension is best for him. At the end of that extension, he will still be playing good basketball.
  14. If impact is defined as an increase in a team's wins, then definitely Crawford. I don't see Boston getting as many wins because of their age. The same goes for Cleveland and also the fact that they had such a huge regular season last year. As for Orlando, they lost 3 starters from their playoff starting lineup, they definitely are not winning as many games. If you look at who will have the best numbers, I'd say VC because he will get the most minutes and playing time, but he could also get injured because of his age. So, overall I'd have to say Crawford.
  15. Sund definitely has an overall picture of the future of this team and he is going out and getting it done. And at the same time, he adds veterans each year to win in the present. Going forward, he still has the Joe extension and at least 3 more players to add to the roster, so he is not done.
  16. -How agressive is Siler at attacking the basket? -Does he have a goto post move? -How do you rate his overall basketball IQ?
  17. I completely agree with this. There are two unknowns: (1) where basket revenues (and therefore the cap) are falling to and (2) what the new CBA will be for the 2012 season. Depending on what happens with (1) and (2) or at least the perceptions of what is happening, owners could really pull back. But to be realistic, 20 million dollars per year is the max he going to get from another team and thats not promised. I'd say lets offer a flat 16 million dollar deal with incentives (Sund seems to like those). That would be very reasonable.
  18. And because of luxury tax, whatever they offer, they will have to double it.
  19. Lets look at the whole picture for his shooting: Last year he ranked 14th in Free throw percentage (.872) and 10th in Minutes per Game (38.1). The free throw percentage is usually a good indicator of a good shooter. And I say that his shooting percentage suffers because of all the minutes he plays. His minutes will go down and I suspect that his shooting percentage will go up because of it. Next, averaging between 4 and 5 assists per game, he has always been the best distributor on his teams (except for a partial year with Duhon in NY). For the Hawks, he will be the third best distributor on the team. In other words, he won't have to create his own shot all the time and he will have people who can get him the ball in the right places and situations.
  20. Just to add a couple of things: (1) The salaries do work (checked via espn trade checker) (2) If this trade did happen who do you put at PF (Green, Marvin, Horford or Collison)
  21. This Sim League sounds like fantasy league using fantasy players.
  22. Being up here in the Boston area, I can say that Smoltz is taking alot of heat for his pitching. But really, he should have been in the bullpen. Or actually, he should have just finished his career in Atlanta.
  23. I believe that Salim put up some big numbers for us in the Summer League.
  24. This is better than the deal that Phoenix made in 2007 (and I don't believe those picks are protected): The Phoenix Suns today traded center Kurt Thomas and two future first-round draft picks to the Seattle SuperSonics for a future conditional second-round pick. In addition to salary cap relief, the trade leaves Phoenix with an $8 million trade exception for their use in future dealings.
