  1. I'm happy with this trade, but at the same time I'm a little disappointed. Obviously, Mike Bibby is a much better pg and player than both Lue and AJ. Also, the fact that we gave up garbage and an impending bust for a proven pg cannot be overlooked. That's a big plus in my book. I'm excited to see two scorers in Bibby and JJ playing together. I would be suprised if this doesn't vaunt us back into the playoff standings. However, this more or less takes us out of the Jose Calderon running in the offseason, who is a free agent I believe (correct me if I'm wrong). Calderon is having a breakout year, and the guy would look phenomenal in a Hawks uni. How great would it have been if we had signed both Calderon and Smith in the offseason? With Bibby here, its not possible, unless we trade him again in the offseason.
  2. Send them Shelden and call it a day. They'll need a "big" if they somehow move Wallace.

  4. Quote: Josh Smith? I wondered about this. With Gasol gone, do they become players for the Josh Smith sweepstakes? A frontline of Gay and Smith could be something to see, albeit a little redundant.
  5. Expected a lot more anger than this, considering your rep. Either way, Bruce will shrug it off and have his assistant type up a canned response. Expect the company line if you ever get a response.
  6. Quote: oh and by the way... PLAY ACIE LAW...if this season is lost anyway...we might as well get him some freaking experience...and see what the kid is made of... Season isn't lost yet, as we are still in the playoff hunt... somehow. But we're basically on the brink, so yeah, its getting damn close. And I agree about Acie. He better be playing the majority of the third and fourth this game. My prediction: Acie sparks a rally, getting us within single digits, and then Woody inexplicably pulls him and subs in Lue, killing our rally and our hopes and dreams.
  7. I actually find myself yearning for the days of Time Warner ownership. The Spirit are an absolute joke.
  8. Quote: And Marvin was staring at the floor . . . . . Yeah he was. I'm pretty sure he wasn't paying attention to Woody. Probably knew what the play was going to be beforehand (dump it to JJ and close your eyes) and tuned out Woody.
  9. Quote: Quote: You have to actually call a play to be the worst at it. LOL that's hilarious. Seriously, watching him for the ENTIRE timeout he was drawing up something and had plenty to say, yet JJ gets the ball and dribbles it for 24 seconds and ends up jacking up an airball. Beautiful, I must say. You should have seen Woody when the last timeout, or the second to last timeout, was called. The camera was right in the Hawks huddle, and it showed Woody drawing up something on the clipboard. Then he just stops his pen and stops talking, like he hit a wall and couldn't think of something to say or plan. He just stayed this way for what seemed like 6 or 7 seconds. Never moved his pen, didnt move his lips, didn't make eye contact with anyone. It was downright embarassing watching that on t.v. It could have lasted longer than 6 or 7 seconds, I'm not sure, since the camera finally stopped showing us this embarassment and focused on something else.
  10. You're all wrong. Shaun of the Dead is the best zombie movie!
  11. I think I saw that. That guy was sitting next to these great, big tigers and petting them like they were house cats. Domesticated tigers or not, I would never dare touch an alpha predator like that.
  12. Worse than the first? Thats a humongous stepdown, seeing as how the first was absolute trash. Even though I wasn't expecting much from AVPR, I had hoped this movie would somehow redeem itself after that abortion of a movie called AVP 1. After I saw the "red-band" trailer and saw all the glorious violence, blood and predator kills, I finally thought someone got it right. But with so much bad press and horrible word-of-mouth, makes me sad that someone could F this up for a second time. Come on, you have two of the baddest Hollywood creatures going at it, how can you screw this up?
  13. Looks like Amare roams these boards. Guy is having a monster game against the Clippers.
  14. Might be 5th place by the end of the night, if the Indiana-Minnesota game stays on course. Go T-Wolves!
  15. Super Mario with two clutch free throws!
  16. Quote: zzzzzz do we really need 50 threads about him. Yep, cuz he deserves it.
  17. Quote: Can he keep this up? Absolutely. AJ is a free agent this offseason, and he wants that money.
  18. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and proclaim this our best victory of the season so far. Riley was coaching this game like it was the playoffs, the refs were awestruck by Wade and giving him free passes to the line, Smith blocking nobody, the injuries on our team, the foul trouble our bigs were having... and despite all this, we got the win. Flat out, this victory was uber impressive.
  19. The Wii leads all consoles in the three major markets: Japan, U.S., and Europe. Between the PS3 and Xbox360, the 360 has a sizable lead in the U.S. over the PS3, while the PS3 has a sizeable lead over the 360 in Japan. The 360 currently leads the PS3 in Europe, but recent sales figures indicate the PS3 is gaining incredible momentum and steam in that market, thanks to the price cuts they introduced there.
  20. Quote: I think they've pretty much ruined their chances this generation. Well, I wouldn't say their chances are completely down the drain for the next 4 or 5 years. Yeah, Sony shot themselves in the foot with a shoddy console launch, but their slowly making it up for it by introducing a cheaper PS3 (40 gig version) and actual good games coming out. I think the problem was that Sony wasn't used to a competitor, like Microsoft, coming in and directly challenging their long dominance over the market. MS came in with a superb online system and a developer-friendly console, and continued that with the 360. I'm guessing Sony was a little flustered by all this, and wasn't sure how to react. It was clearly a mistake pricing the PS3 out of everyone's budget, when there was already a cheaper alternative in the 360 that already had a one-year start. I'm guessing it was a no-brainer for some parents when they went in and saw the pricing for the two and decided on the cheaper 360.
  21. Blank, McKay and company better make a good decision for their next coach. So far, they've been 0-2 in terms of finding a quality coach. Mora was a headcase, and besides his one good year here, he quickly wore out his welcome with mediocre seasons and questionable behavior. Petrino was way in over his head, and even though I don't fault him for Mike Vick screwing up his own life, he just couldn't command the respect from his own team. Seriously, the last thing I want is a coaching carousel here, so Blank and McKay better not screw this up again. I got a coaching possibility: Urban Meyer Just kidding... but seriously, how about Norm Chow? If we can bring in a quality QB in here via the draft, I would love to see what Chow can do with him. Harrington might even be decent under this guy's tutelage.
  22. Quote: but if you want to play games, the 360 is where it's at and where it will continue to be. Well, it's like not like third-party support for the PS3 just suddenly dwindled. Even though it took a year or so, quality titles are finally starting to trinkle in for the PS3, such as Unreal Tournament 3, which btw, I'll probably pick up. And again, their 2008 lineup of games looks impressive. And yes, the PS3 does make a fine Blu-Ray player. Don't think I could ever go back to watching regular DVD's on a standard definition television.
