  1. Yeah, Teague is playing hurt. So is Millsap, and Al, and probably Scott, too. I don't know if that's why we keep missing layups. But that's the playoffs. It's a grind. Everyone else is dealing with injuries, too.
  2. Hey, now all the higher seeds have lost at home. It's the playoffs. I feel pretty confident we'll get a split in DC.
  3. I'm going to be a Hawks fan regardless of what happens. I've stayed with them through Nique being traded, the Ken the Snake Norman years, the Isaiah Rider trade, the Lon Kruger era, the 13 win season, drafting Marvin over CP3, Iso Joe and dumbass Josh, epic playoff blowouts. I'm not going to jump ship if they flame out this postseason because I like the system we're putting together. But I'll be goddamn pissed.
  4. Nice to get the win. Shakier than I would have liked. We've missed so many open shots and layups these two games.
  5. That was beautiful. The real Hawks finally showed up!
  6. Truth be told, I don't think we have a chance at a title this year. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think we can touch GS, or San Antonio, or Memphis. But damn, I wanted us to go out playing Hawks basketball at its best. I wanted the rest of the world to see what this team can do, and they've been a borderline embarrassment so far. Very disappointing. So I hope they kick each other's asses the next couple of days and get their ish together. Please don't just be like the same old damn Hawks.
  7. It's probably best to have to get into a groove against the Nets, because playing like this we'll get swept by the Wizards.
  8. Team is mentally weak. Can't take care of business in the Barclay Center. Pathetic.
  9. What was that? Is there someone on the roster with the faintest hint of a killer instinct?
  10. Regular season, we're the Spurs East. Postseason, we're the Hawks.
  11. Playing like a team that wants to go 7 games with the goddamn Nets.
  12. Because the Hawks wrapped up the number one seed so early (which is great), we've waited months to see them play a meaningful game, and then for them to come out and play so uninspired through three games, and then to see other teams like Golden State, Cleveland, Memphis, Houston, Washington(!) emphatically take care of business, that's where the frustration comes from me. I'm looking forward to them snapping out of it tomorrow night.
  13. I'm not saying Ferry hasn't done a good job. He has. He hit a grand slam with Bud and it's unlikely he would have come here without Ferry. He deserves immense credit for that. But there's a reason he's in exile and the team was sold and the new owners would be entirely within their rights to wash their hands of the whole situation. And just regarding basketball he's not infallible at all. That's a bad track record on first round picks, and teams like the Hawks have to get talent in the draft to compete. He's done great in the second round, he's done great at getting the right guys in free agency, and it's unfair to a degree that now that the team can actually attract some top free agent talent he's in exile, but that's a bed entirely of his own making. Full disclosure: I wrote that post yesterday in a fit of pique watching us have no answer for Lopez. I'm not going to be mad if we keep Ferry.
  14. I'm just saying I think Ferry is replaceable.
  15. That's fine, homie. I'm not trying to fight on the Internet. I just hate seeing this again. Every damn sports team in Atlanta does this in the playoffs.
  16. Let's not. Ferry is 1/4 on first round picks. Jenkins is worthless, Payne and Nogueira were sold for scraps. We could really use Nurkic right about now, but at least we have Minnesota's lottery protected pick that expires in two years instead.
  17. You don't know anything about me. I didn't complain once during the regular season. I've been a Hawks fan for over two decades. But when I have to hear from naysayers during a 60 win season, all season long, "Wait until the playoffs and then you'll suck," and we come out like this against a mediocre at best Brooklyn team?? I'm very disappointed and completely justified in feeling pissed off.
  18. Every other series besides Spurs/Clips is going to be a sweep, but the Hawks will probably need 6 to take care of 38-44 Brooklyn, but it's irrational to get upset over this performance. Okay. Washington is sweeping, but the Hawks took the afternoon off.
  19. This is why Atlanta is a joke to most of the country. The Warriors could've packed it in and played for another day down 20 against a very good Pelicans team, but they found another gear and won, because great teams don't lose to clearly inferior ones in the playoffs. The Hawks have the easiest path to the conference finals I've ever seen, but struggled today to get to 80 against a defense featuring Brook Lopez and the ghost of Deron Williams.
