  1. Nick Van Exel deserves a lot credit for Teague's development. He's been fearless attacking the rim and his perimeter shot looks lightyears smoother.
  2. Now that we have a promising young PG, we can use him to address our biggest team need: Trading Marvin Williams!
  3. I think the Spurs might have won a title or three in that span.
  4. Fair enough. I was being emotional. But it was the same I don't give a crap so I'll throw a cheap elbow motion. Basically, Boozer is a punk.
  5. That floater he hit over Asik or whatever his name is was a thing of beauty. The fact that he was fouled on the play (no call, of course) makes it all the more impressive.
  6. He's been our best player by a mile this series and he's going head-to-head with the league MVP. I couldn't be prouder of him if he were my own son.
  7. I'm convinced. If these playoffs have taught us anything, it's that regular season record is clearly the most accurate indicator of who the best teams are!
  8. Go read the game thread in the general forum at realgm and see how many non-Hawks fans think the officiating was biased in the 4th. The very idea that we're supposed to accept that one player can make a play on one end of the court and get a call with minimal at best contact and another player can make the same play on the other end of the court and get no call with significant contact because one player is a star and the other isn't is why so many people hate the NBA. What a joke. Watching these playoffs you don't think that maybe, just maybe the Hawks were severe underachievers in the regular season? Ah forget it. You're just trolling.
  9. PLEASE. Go to any Celtics forum and tell me with a straight face their fans don't complain about officiating. Better yet, go to a Bulls forum and tell me what they were saying after game 4. GTFO.
  10. Exactly. They killed the Hawks momentum at the most critical point of the game. No calls for Teague and Joe when there's a lot of contact, but Gibson gets an and 1 on a reverse where there was no contact at all and then Rose drives to the hoop and Al brushes his jersey and he gets an and 1. I don't know if the Hawks would have or should have won this game otherwise, but to argue that there wasn't clearly a different set of rules for each team is ridiculous.
  11. It was exactly the same cheap shot Bynum threw. Think Boozer will get suspended? LOL
  12. The Hawks worked their asses of to get back into this game and the refs just screwed them out of it. What a joke. Great product you've got there, Stern.
  13. JT was my favorite player from the early aughts Hawks. If the Hawks get bounced, I'm rooting for the Mavs the rest of the way.
  14. Teague is a stud. He's not getting fouls called him because he's moving his feet and staying with Rose and not making any ticky-tack contact that would allow the refs to call fouls on him. And he is as explosive and athletic in getting to the hoop as any guard in the league. If he works on his court vision and setting teammates up, he'll be a top PG in this league.

    That "foul"

The Hawks have to get fouled twice to get a call, and even that's not a given if Josh is taking the shot. Rose pump fakes and flings his body into a defender with no intention of even putting up a good shot and there's no call and it's a tragedy. Whatever. They lost by 12, not 3. I fully expect somebody from ESPN will suggest replaying the game from that point on tomorrow.
  16. This is such an idiotic article that makes so many dumb assumptions I'm shocked somebody pays this guy to write. It frankly reads like a fan's blog. 1. He gives way too much credit to the notion of the Hawks needing bulletin board material to beat the Magic, essentially making that the crux of his entire assessment of the team! Did they notice Nelson's comment and Bianchi's column? Sure. Who wouldn't? Is that why they beat the Magic? NO! They had a better, smarter gameplan, better depth, and flat out were the better team. 2. He says (re: Joe), "His Bulls counterparts -- Keith Bogans, Kyle Korver and Ronnie Brewer -- should be sufficiently driven to contain him, since they wouldn't be on the roster if Johnson had gotten their money." What? What difference does that make? On what planet do you think Keith Bogans, Ronnie Brewer and KYLE KORVER(!) can contain a 5-time all star simply because he didn't sign with their team last year? I assume these all world defenders will also neutralize Crawford. Dumb. 3. I can only assume he hasn't watched this team at all when he writes, "the Hawks will be counting on Collins, Zaza Pachulia or Etan Thomas to meet Rose at the rim." Uh, no. Collins will barely play in this series. Last time I checked, Dwight Howard does not play for Chicago. Horford and Smith match up pretty damn well with Noah and Boozer and I have a feeling both will be there to meet Rose at the rim many, many times this series. It's one thing to tip your hat to a team for beating a heavily favored opponent while saying you think the top seed is too much for them. It's another to just dismiss the Hawks because they are the Hawks and don't "matter." I seriously doubt the Hawks can win this series, but I have no doubt they WILL make it a series, even without Kirk.
  17. Yeah, with increased playing time and opportunities, he's increased his fg % from 35% to a whopping 38%! Wow!
  18. You wouldn't have the balls to step to Marvin and you know it.
  19. Just imagine if he ever learns how to shoot free throws.
  20. I honestly would not mind getting back in the lottery with a good core of young players if it meant getting a potential superstar or trading for one like Boston did. As much as I enjoyed the regular season, I can't say this flame out in the playoffs left me feeling better about my team than, say, a Kings fan looking at the prospect of a John Wall-Tyreke Evans backcourt next year.
  21. They'll never admit they backed the wrong horse. I've heard a slew of ESPN "experts" (Jon Barry, et al.) literally boohooing about the unfair criticism LeBron's received the last two days. It won't stop.
  22. Jamal Mashburn just said LeBron will stay in Cleveland because he's one of those superstars who wants to play for the same team his whole career. Jamal Mashburn also said the Hawks would make the ECF.
  23. And the Cavs just quit. LOL.
  24. You think there's any media market in this country that wouldn't print that quote?
