  1. Horford whining about not getting endless adoration from the fans is the cherry on top of this whole thing. You're a professional basketball player being paid millions. That should be motivation enough to do your job. You want undying support? Win something, and not in the regular season, in the playoffs when it counts. Atlanta fans are always in "prove it" mode when it comes to our franchises, and with good reason. It was that way when Horford got drafted and now he's leaving after doing nothing to change it.
  2. Nah, not after you bash the fans on your way out of town.
  3. Boston fans are going to be very passionate when they see one of his patented 3 rebound performances in the playoffs.
  4. We were never winning a championship with Al Horford as our highest paid player, period. This is a lateral move at worst.
  5. People are going to act like losing a weak rebounding big man who inspired no fear in other teams, who'd rather shoot 3s than bang inside is the end of the world. Do you wanna be paying Al Horford $30 mil in 5 years when he's putting up 11 and 5?
  6. Honestly, at some point just by the law of averages the Hawks have to hit on one these damn picks. Why not this one?
  7. People seem to forget that when we were getting trounced by the Cavs he was the guy showing fire and getting us back in the game, not our passive former All Star point guard, so I'm cool going forward with Schröder.
  8. This team can't hit an open shot to save its life.
  9. I gotta admit, when they were shooting like 10% in the first half, I was ready to blow this whole team up. And then they gave these clowns the asswhoopin they deserve. Nice rope-a-dope.
  10. Different rules for different players/teams. Nothing new here.
  11. I was at this game. I don't know what Dennis did to this refereeing crew but those were some ridiculous calls he got hit with. And they missed everything from 3, like wtf? If they shoot 25% from deep it's a blowout. But... that defense, wow! Great win.
  12. Really impressed by how much Bazemore has worked on his game. He may not stay the starter, but he's carving out a nice career for himself as a quality role player.
  13. Exactly what I was thinking. If Phoenix wants to dump Tucker, see if Philly will take on Scott + Mack to get that pick. Scott could probably start for Philly.
  14. I'm not mad at Carroll for taking the bigger deal. He worked his ass off for this payday, and it's the only opportunity like this he'll ever have. Honestly, I'm proud of the guy. Get your money, DMC.
  15. I would entertain this idea but only if Winslow is there at 6.
  16. This team was never the same after that last west coast road trip. I think that's when the rest of the league saw you could bully them a little bit and get in their heads. When we came back from that trip and got embarrassed by San Antonio at home was when I started to lose faith in our title hopes. Other teams were rounding into shape and we were out of sync. Kyle was never the same after breaking his nose. Then the injuries to Thabo and Millsap. You just can't build a team this way and withstand injuries. There's no fallback option.
  17. The East is still the East. Who's getting better? Washington, maybe. Indiana gets George back, but there's not much left on that team after him. I'll believe Milwaukee is making a leap when I see it. Other than that it's a top heavy conference and there's no reason the Hawks can't stay at the top of it if they keep making smart decisions.
  18. The stability of the franchise is the strongest it's been in decades, maybe ever. That ultimately is what draws talent and keeps teams contending. We have new ownership after having the worst owners in the league for the last decade. Koonin has done a remarkable job marketing the team. Budenholzer is a great coach, and the league sees that. Optics matter. That Hawks team from 2008 was poorly constructed and coached by Mike Woodson. Woodson was the coach long after it was obvious he didn't know what he was doing. That's a sign to everyone that an organization doesn't know what they're doing. This organization knows what they're doing now. They just got hit with the injury bug at the worst possible time and are getting beat by the best basketball player on the planet.
  19. I'll be happy with either Dekker, Oubre, or Booker.
  20. This new member has some super hot takes, guys.
  21. I'm seriously beginning to question Bud's ability to draw up an end of game bucket.
  22. Ever wonder how all these scrubs suddenly play better with LeBron? Because the NBA lets them get away with murder all of a sudden. Absolutely ridiculous. Turnabout is fair play, though. Let's see how LeBron reacts when someone tries to end his career.
