  1. This may seem farfetched but I think his ceiling is a perennial all-star starter. If he can get his 3 pt % to about .35 and overall fg % to about .44-.45, he has everything else already--it will gel in time.
  2. Good topic. I love Dennis and 100% agree. He is a stud. I'm disappointed we didn't find a deal for Teague, but I'm cool if they played it shrewd and didn't make a deal if they didn't feel like the return was fair market value.
  3. This team should be a 3 seed and make it to the ECF. I keep waiting for the "switch to flip" but it just hasn't. It's confusing. Sans only DeMarre, we are a shell of the team we were last year. It's baffling. No shots at Bud here. Reigning coach of the year. Hasn't made a move that I think was a terrible one in hindsight.
  4. Re: the Gasol love. His strengths are the same as Horf and 'Sap. You want yet another tweener PF/C? Furthermore, people who say Pau is better now than Horf are silly. Al is younger, has much better handles, and is a much better shooter. Pure nonsense. I want no part of Pau. If we get a big, it better be a beefy Center.
  5. Posts like this are why you are a joke to 50% of the board--the sensible half. THIS. Read up, Diesel. YEP. Posts like this are why you are a joke to 50% of the board--the sensible half. All three are music to my ears. Suggests Al likely to stay and Teague could be gone. Wrong. We will re-sign Al. 1000%. Yep yep.
  6. Agreed. Teague can be everything Parker is and more if he improves his jumper--once Parker's achilles heel, too
  7. What do you know that speaks to Dennis not being a "character guy"? Seemed pretty high character when he was the rowdiest bench cheerer before he ever got minutes and remained so even as he became a part of the rotation. What do you see that suggests Dennis isn't a willing passer? He averages more assists per 36 minutes...7.9 to Teague's 6.9 with Teague having the turnover edge by a mere 0.3 per 36 minutes). Dennis also plays more minutes with lesser scorers and shooters--that's notable. What in the world suggests to you Dennis isn't a hard-worker? Just pulling stuff outta yer a$$. To improve as much as he has as a 20 year-old Euro in his first season to now requires hard work. He's clearly competitive as hell because he wants to start and is our highest energy player by far on a nightly basis, and competitive athletes tend to put in the work. Finally, you (of course) didn't mention the superlative (aside from more talent and upside of course) that Dennis has that Teague will never have because it's innate. Dennis wants the ball in clutch situations. He has huge huevos and doesn't shy away from the moment. He's fearless and doesn't worry about "what if I miss." Teague doesn't have that quality. He hit a big three to clinch a playoff game--big whoop...please don't use that as your counter evidence. Anyone watching knows Dennis is fearless--he's young so it manifests as being reckless or out of control at times but Bud will reign him in. Dennis will be a star. Mark it. As I suspect many here would say, I don't hate Teague. I happen to LOVE Dennis and think the kid will be a star. I agree with you on Dwight--want NO PART of him.
  8. I know the Bud push to trade hill for Kawhi story very well. The fact it took a lot of urging and Popovich admired him in entirely relevant. No, we aren't the Spurs---we just run a system very similar to theirs in which Hill has excelled before.
  9. Former Spur, would fit in well in our system, and Pop loved G. Hill. Bud had to twist his arm to trade him for Kawhi. If Pop loves George Hill, I'm cool with it. He clearly is a good fit for our system. Salary is exact match with Teague, so he is affordable and a FA after next year. He would be playing the role of 6th man/SG for us if brought in--I think he could be a good fit there--considering Hardaway is still being developed and Korver is an injury risk. Not looking for him to "match" Teague's numbers as he wouldn't be asked to do as much here--but he's instantly our second best 3 point shooter and good fit. I also think a trade for Hill would bring back more than just GH--they'd throw in something to sweeten it, imo. http://www.vigilantsports.com/2015/02/10/gregg-popovich-on-his-special-relationship-with-george-hill/
  10. Teague for George Hill plus filler seems to make the most sense to me. I'd love to move Splitter for a healthy and slightly better big--he has the value of a decent expiring deal. What is the asking price for Robin Lopez? Splitter plus a pick? Let's do it. EDIT: Actually he doesn't...we are stuck with this bum Splitter for another season. What a disappointment he's been.
  11. I think the front office and Bud are the only ones who know enough to answer this question but he seems like a high character guy. We drafted him. We can pay him the most. I tend to trust him and tend to believe (and hope) we will resign him this office. I'd say from what I read, I "trust him" as much as I am capable of with any accuracy. And, I think it'd be a huge mistake not to resign him.

  13. Sefolosha is French. I've never seen anything about him speaking German. He def knows French, Italian, English. Capela's background is Swiss/French. Dennis is the only connection to Germany.
  14. Man. 'Sap missed two chippies that would have tied it. I feel like he left one short earlier in the year at the end, too, when his defender fell down....maybe against Dallas? Wanna say he missed one vs. Cavs at the end of a playoff game, too, maybe? Anyone with a better memory mind helping me out with his history on these? I'm kinda serious. I know someone here could list them all. Jog my memory. Regardless...bitter pill.
  15. THIS. Dennis is definitely more valuable unless you are one of a very few teams...and are pretty confident you can re-sign Jeff without breaking the bank. I like the angle that it helps re-sign Al. Absolutely does. When you say, "we need a good trade on this", obviously everyone wants a "good trade". We need a trade though, period. Deal Teague while we still can. I'd take something like a mid-first round pick and a good role player. If we can get a young player that fits here, all the better. Hope you're right. Eh. Implying Dennis looks better because he's playing with the second unit? He's been closing out the fourth quarter in close games. Still looks tons better to me. Interesting. Plain dumb. Horford is nothing if not a team player and unselfish guy--always has been. Worst post I've seen in months. Ha. Right? That was a compelling post until CP3.
  16. He's just young. SMH at "TOO DAMN WILD" (all caps). When you are full of energy, confidence, and raw, that is what it sort of looks like.
  17. Paying attention now, y'all? JR Smith....great example. He fricking killed us in multiple games in the playoffs last year because he is fearless. He's also a headcase which Dennis is not. So, yeah, Dennis has the best of what JR Smith brings without all the baggage (and ink). I think so, too. I'll be pretty surprised if they let Dennis get away. That would be Billy Knight-esque.
  18. That's absurd. The unit Dennis led is what brought us back into the game. And that he hadn't been shooting well and still had the confidence to take a drill a shot that was an absolute "take" given the score, moment, and him being open is EXACTLY what I mean about Teague not having the stones. Had he been having a rough shooting night, he never would have pulled it....and if by some chance he did, his hesitation would have made it a definite miss.
  19. On cue. Dennis hits a game-tying 3 pter with 28 seconds left. Jeff wouldn't have had the stones to take the shot. Dennis!
  20. I'm watching the game now, and I honestly think Dennis is better than Jeff now. He and our second unit is where our advantage lies. Maybe Teague is hurt. But you will never convince me we should choose Teague over Dennis. If they coexist for two years...cool. But we better make locking down Dennis a priority over Teague. I truly believe Dennis is the better player now. He may be more error-prone, but he will only get better---both in his FG%, 3PT% and overall consistency and judgment.
  21. THIS. Dennis is fearless. He has ice water in his veins. He craves the big moment. You can't teach that. Teague on the other hand, not so much. You lost me at Carmelo. 'Melo is a cancer that will NEVER win an NBA Championship. He is selfish, a black-hole, and the antithesis to Bud-ball. Yep. Teague got a few years as a starter before he became what he is now. Dennis's development would be expedited were he handed the starter's role sooner as I alluded to in this topic's original post. Dennis is younger by nearly 5 years. He's from Europe which only lowers his "effective" basketball age. DENNIS IS THE FUTURE. We better not F this up.
  22. Glad to see Timmy finally getting some burn. Maybe he's finally freed.
