  1. Glad they kept fighting, game 2 will be closer. Feels better knowing we have a coach who will make some adjustments.
  2. Definitely. When we don’t and they start draining threes our rhythm is gone because we start forcing things.
  3. Just an ugly first half of basketball. Some good and mainly bad. We can gripe about our players and what not, but if we aren’t going to make open threes against them and they hit everything they shot - this is what you get.
  4. Giving some love to JC. The rebound and pass for the dunk at the end of the game was awesome.
  5. Impressive run to end the third! Let’s go.
  6. Of course they would make a run but we just do a bad job of handling it when it is the Heat that make the run.
  7. Or you hopped on a call and left us hanging lol. Who is to blame…
  8. Nice to get those last two points though. It’s a game of runs, glad we stopped that one.
  9. I think we are thinking of a couple of different possessions. Also @TheNorthCydeRises, I don’t get much time to watch games live so let me complain some lol.
  10. I don’t disagree, but the timing and rhythm of them I didn’t like.
  11. At least not the rushed ones he is taking.
  12. Too many threes, Trae. Great playmaking though.
  13. I just hate how the refs have given them at least 4 extra points at the FT line when we played good defense. Outside of that, they haven’t been too bad. We are probably traumatized because the same **** happens each time we play them.
  14. And even if we lose on Friday, we honestly move forward and see what Snyder has planned to improve our team. He came in midseason for this very reason.
  15. I fear the refs will keep him in foul trouble.
  16. I hope so! We are 87-84 in the last two years (including the play in and post season). I’m a positive person, but it has kind of been who we are for a large amount of time. I think they have it in them to turn it on though, we shall see.
  17. As much as I want to win, we know the Hawks will have to go .500 in the play-in tournament - so that means we lose this one and win the next one. The good news though, to play .500 in the regular postseason format we have to at least advance past the first round. Winning this game can really set the tone for us and give us confidence against Boston. I'd rather roll into the postseason kind of exercising our nemesis from last year than the alternative of getting there in the second play in game.
  18. If we beat Miami I can kind of be on board with the playoffs. If we lose, just see what happens in the lottery.
  19. I think Trae and Luka are both very good players, but you do see some stat padding with their control of the ball. Both have a conference finals run under their belt, and a lot of mediocrity around that. This is an offensive league, and guys are putting up historical numbers at a young age. They really can’t compare their numbers to older players and assume they are just as good. It isn’t just about players numbers at the end, it is about how you get them. Trae and Luka both have a lot to learn in that regard of the game. They are young, but to me, there is enough to see that counting triple doubles, 30 point games, etc. isn’t enough to make you a winner. They both could use a good look in the mirror about their approach to the game. Not a bash on either of them, I just think and hope they improve on the aspects of the game that don’t show on the box score - just wins and loses.
  20. I’m all aboard with the concept, but I agree that it is a lot easier said than done. What I do wish we would have, are players that can play shutdown defense if we need a stop. Most of our defensive stands late in games are just missed shots.
  21. Brooklyn swept the season series against Miami, so they hold the tie-breaker against them and are unlikely to drop below them. They are only separated by one game though, and I wonder which team I would rather face if we finish 8th. Toronto - @ Boston, @ Boston, Milwaukee Miami - @ Philly, @ Washington, Orlando Brooklyn - @ Detroit, Orlando, Philly If we handle business tonight at home against Washington, I honestly see the standings playing out as they are today. Crazier things have happened though.
  22. We all are guilty of that! No problem.
  23. Because they must have no shot to make it to #6. They are 100% a play in team, while we and Miami have a slight chance of moving up. I think you are overthinking it.
  24. A shame, but one brought on by ourselves honestly.
