    It is weird, but as @ShooterSays said (that sounds funny with the tag lol) we can still finish 6th. Same reason Miami hasn’t “clinched yet.” Opposite of Chicago who hasn’t clinched because they could still drop out completely. Once we cannot finish 6th, we will clinch our play in spot.

    In a funny twist of the us being most .500 team ever, the Hawks have scored 9,209 points this season and given up 9,210.

    I give you all kudos for watching these games lol. I would if not for little kids, I rely on this forum for the ebb and flow of the team. It’s been an awful season though, and this game kind of sums up where we are to me.

    You are correct. I think the origins come from our front office and his agent. As to where it is now, I’m not 100% sure. I bet both parties have a copy, with the original one in Landry’s office.

    Any chance we can move this coaching debate to a new thread? I come in here looking for updates and see this lol. It’s a good debate, it’s just kind of taking away what the thread is about.

    This is it, 100%. Trae avoids all tough questions and when he has to, answers them with vague cliches. We have folks on here complaining about his game, warranted. I don’t worry about that as much about his leadership qualities. Until he can stand up for himself and the team without feeling “disrespected” for being asked a tough question, he will be what he is today. He is young tough, I hope he finds a way to grow up and lead our team.

    Is he at least a Premium poster or donates? Joking aside, this season and team is a mess. Trae is good/great, but I’m not wanting a guy who shows no sign of any leadership qualities having this much power. Between him and Nick, we are doomed unless something changes.

    When I say "run through him" I basically mean just what DJM was saying. Get him in his spot and get the ball to him and see what happens. You'll always need one of the guards to initiate this.

    There are a lot of us that want to see the offense ran through JC more often. No need to worry though, in about 2 weeks his touches will go down and the trade rumors will unfortunately come back lol.

    They do odd stuff sometimes, including picking awful pictures. I remember one last year of Huerter that looked like he had been on a 10 day drinking binge.

    He can’t score like them, but the sad thing (because it isn’t happening this year) is he had a lot of games where he could score at such an efficient level in seasons past. Especially big games and if it wasn’t the entire game, during the 4th quarter. That made it easy to defend his off games. This year those moments or games just aren’t happening, he’s just so off.

    It is one way to look at it, and I'm not here defending his shooting. I think his play has been mediocre this year, he just doesn't seem to have an offensive rhythm. Just saying that a metric that shows Saben Lee (who?) as a better player definitely can be used as part of an argument but can't tell the whole story. I will add that Ja Morant is at the very bottom of that list too.

    Whether y’all agree or not, I think most of y’all are being a little harsh to @noble. The dude was just trying to provide input, whether it is likely or not. I’ve seen a lot worse lol.

    Love Trae, but now I’m waiting for the follow up interview where he says “I mean” 100 times before other cliches. “Yeah, I mean it is different without coach here. You know, I mean, at the end of the day we have to still go play. So, yeah, I mean, back to practice and focus on winning.”

    Definitely weird and like others said, it’ll take some time to figure out what actually is going on. The timing is weird though, as if something expedited this decision. Why do it right before Christmas, while on a home stand and finally winning a couple games in a row. It seems like it could have waited for the new year when we head out west.

    This is why I’m not giving up John. I love our guys, but JC seems to be the only one who understands what is going on and can vocalize it too. Nothing against the likes of (insert most of the rest of the team reporters talk to) but his perspective is always spot on and doesn’t seem like a programmed video game response.
