  1. It wouldn't matter if I were willing to trade him for those two players because there is a 0% chance Indy and Sacramento would take that trade unless we attach several picks or Jalen Johnson to the trade request.
  2. He was a walking bucket in 2021-22, basically could score at will. Really been a struggle the last 80 + games. If this was 2021 I wouldn't care so much, but look around the east the amount of scoring and talent is on another level then when the Hawks made their run. Trae needs to develop into an MVP type player for the Hawks to win championships because fact is every other contending team has an MVP type player.
  3. I mean in terms of his overall value and WAR production to the team. I'm not saying he isn't improving any facet of his game, but are you seriously telling me you are taking Trae from 2022-2023 over Trae of 2021-2022? His assist production and defense have steadily improved but his efficiency has plummeted, from 59-60% to below 57% in his last 82+ games. This for sure 100% needs to change or the Hawks don't have a prayer in the absolutely loaded conference. What's crazy is Trae is getting arguably better shots, taking less bad shots, and yet scoring much less efficiently this year, which shouldn't make any sense. It's a small sample just this season but going back to last year we are seeing less shooting and less efficiency since DJM joined the team, and really we should be expecting and getting the exact opposite in terms of efficiency from Trae. He is so streaky that this hopefully changes, but his streakiness in and of itself can make it difficult to justify him being our super max guy. And this is all just me musing about our legit chances of a championship with Trae as our number 1 guy. I have no doubt that Trae can have is in the playoffs winning a series here and there for the next decade.
  4. Isn't there always something with Hunter? Injuries are pretty much as much a constant as his pedestrian production and terrible analytics.
  5. Problem is while Trae has seemingly stagnated there are now a few other young PGs blowing up. Not sure he's a top 3 PG in the conference anymore. He needs to regain the level he was showing two years ago for us to be a contender, and DJM needs to be at around 22ppg in 58+TS to go along with it. Not sure either of those things are too realistic though.
  6. After having seen the other in-season tourno floors, gotta say the Hawks may be the least visually offensive.
  7. We should know by now EXACTLY what he is going to give us as far as production. He has been uncannily consistent with it for five years. 14-4 44% from the field.
  8. So team was probably dealing with his pouting in the locker room? Always assumed we kept him on as a "veteran presence", guess that wasn't the case.
  9. I actually like this team a lot. I think if they played head to head vs the 2021 Hawks team they would win. Problem is the league is just a quantum leap better than it was back then. Boston, Philly, New York, Miami, are much, much better teams. Look at the Bulls team that was a top 6 team back then and now looks lottery bound. You look around the league and there's a lot of teams that are just flat out more talented. If Trae regains his mojo we might, MIGHT have a shot at the 3rd seed, but if he continues to shoot like he has since last year it's probably a ceiling somewhere around 5th, maybe 4th if the Pacers incredble start is a mirage.
  10. Sitting Bey and Bogi when they are both on fire was awful
  11. And it's not gonna get any easier because the league is just better. Not many easy games outside of Washington
  12. Imagine how good we'd be if Trae from two years ago ever shows up again
  13. Second quarter effort on point. Offensively the team is playing good unselfish, gotta keep up the intensity.
  14. That's an interesting fact I was not aware off. I was also a huge fan.
  15. Halliburton has been out of this world this year, if he keeps it up he should get strong MVP consideration
  16. Looks like we are in second place and with a chance on friday to put a serious dent in Philli's chances if the Pacers score tonight against them holds. And the other nine games? Hawks once again a bottom ten DRTG
  17. Nice win but Hawks have figure out defense if they have ambitions beyond a low seed
  18. I think it's encouraging they were really fighting hard the entire game after falling behind.
  19. Embarrasing first quarter cost them the game, was an uphill climb after that and every lose ball and call seemed to go the othervway.Hope it was just the Mexico hang over.
  20. Only issue I has was he was jacking too many threes that second half. He made a lot of great plays down the stretch.
  21. Yea, he's been fine scoring the ball. It's his IQ that is lacking at both ends.
  22. Oh for sure. Last time I watched the Hawks live was 2005 (Joe Johnson's first season) against Miami on vacation in Miami. Don't have any family in Atlanta and flights for whatever reason are so expensive, it's cheaper to fly almost anywhere in the US, that I just haven't been back in forever. Growing up in Atlanta used to go to around 5-6 games a year with my pops and bro so it was like reliving old times.
  23. I live on the outskirts of the city in a suburb, have been living in or around the city since 2002. Security is really not any more of an issue than it is in any large American city, avoid certain areas at night, and you're pretty much good to go.,I've lived here with my parents and now wife and children for over 20 years and was fortunate to never be victimized by crime. As a resident I would say you have to take some precautions, keep a reasonably low profile, be aware of your day to day sorroundings etc, but as a tourist I would say you have pretty much nothing to worry about, at least nothing extra from any other comparable 20 million population destination in the world. feel a lot less safe in cities like Paris and LA/NYC than I do Mexico City for example.
