  1. I don't think Jokic is a "much" better passer than Trae. They are close. I honestly think Trae and Joker are the two best passers in the NBA right now. I think Jokers overall IQ on both ends is higher than Trae's though. His IQ is Lebron tier.
  2. I don't have any sources but seems damn likely we are making moves. Don't care how spirited the team played in that series against Boston, it was clear the talent on our squad was just inferior to the talent on that squad. Like AHF mentioned I think the biggest thing will be well who can get us the best return? Unfortuneately for the Hawks I don't think JC and Caps value is high right now. Hunter may be the centerpiece of the best potential deal we could make but I think he's the frontcourt starter they are less enthused about trading so it's not the ideal situation. I'm guessing KAT, JB and Ayton are probably the "big" targets we will be looking at. I think for KAT and JB Dejaunte Murray may be included.
  3. Seems like getting stuck to the bench to end the season got him excluded. Still total BS though. Stuff like this should be decided by win shares or something else objective because otherwise players from "unpopular" teams like the Hawks will keep getting shafted.
  4. Ayton would be fine if he was making John Collins money. But I don't want to pay a guy max money to give us some nice scoring in the regular season and then have to navigate his poor efforts in the playoffs.
  5. I don't really have anything against Bud, sure I thought the way he left was total BS, but it's been a loooong while now I ain't mad at that anymore. So what I consider to be my untainted and unbiased opinion on him is this: He hasn't been an elite HC since he lost Snyder. The Hawks took a noticeable nose dive his first year without Snyder and after that the team never looked anywhere near as well coached during the rest of his tenure. I know many here blamed losing Carrell on that steep decline in play after the 60 win season, but his impact was insanely overblown,, fact is everyone on the team took a step back after Snyder left. Then in Milwaukee people seem to forget he had been HATED by the fanbase for a long time, and the team had underachieved every single season. The year they won the championship he was literally one Kevin Durant toe away from being fired. During the entire Brooklyn series, all of the national media and the Buck fans were foaming at the mouth asking for Bud's head and clowning his terrible in-game management. If Trae Young doesn't twist his ankle and the Hawks pull off the upset in the ECF it's also a pretty damn safe bet Bud gets canned then. Last year was another disappointment for them. This year they didn't only lose to the 8th seed, but they didn't even make it to 6 games. Not sure that's ever happened before. Of course the Giannis injury was massive, but still an incredible underperformance from the team regardless. Now, I don't think he's a trash coach or anything like that, but I've seen some on Twitter clamoring for the Hawks to bring him into the staff and I don't think that's the right move. The guy's body language and face always looks like he's dealing with issues and now after his brother's death and getting canned like this... I think it may be best for everyone he takes some time off.
  6. There were questions about Ayton's desire and drive coming out of college and he has done NOTHING to put those to rest. I echo the sentiments on people on here, I don't think acquiring Ayton is a move that helps put us in a championship trajectory. The dude has been in a fantastic situation in a perennial championship contender and is malcontent. The only thing he cares about is his bag. Once he gets that bag his effort is only going to get worse.
  7. I agree that was a f***ing dirty play, at least they called it.
  8. I feel like Trae gets a different whistle than other players in the playoffs. Celts were getting a lot of the calls Trae was not getting.
  9. I don't really have any issues with Trae's shot selection in the second half. He took the ball to the hole, pulled up for threes when he was guarded by Horford and those were good looks. Problem is, nothing dropped. Probably the effects of playing 44 mins and a super high intensity first half catching up with him. Fact is we need a #2. We can't have Trae be the initiator of all of our offense, our main distributor every game and also ask him to drop 40. That's just not a feasable way to go through a playoff run. Murray was playing his part before the suspension but laid a pretty ugly egg this game. Overall I don't think he can be the guy. We need a Jaylen, or at least get a really deep team full of shooters like we had in 2021.
  10. Please lord 'ol mighty let us flip Murray for Jaylen Brown in the offseason somehow.
  11. Most unexpteced plot twist of the year is that the Hawks would get me believing we can win like in 2021. What a turnaround at the last minute by Trae and the Hawks, to me they already proved they are fighters and that playoff Trae is back so I'm somewhat satisfied, but man if they can shit on the face of Boston fans everywhere that would be an incredible cherry on the cake.
  12. Anderson is a more or less equal shooter to Hunter, but he plays a lot more PF than Hunter I think . I mean they are different players but from a value perspective I think at a Wins added per dollar Anderson is a much better deal than Hunter.
  13. If Collins was expiring we might get some interest, but as is don't see why they would bite on this. Taking Hunter back for Anderson doesn't make sense either for them. Anderson is better.
  14. Nothing would bring me more joy than to humiliate Boston. The face on all the ESPN pundits face is going to be amazing. And the part I love most is since they are incapable of giving Hawks any credit they will take out their rage and disappointment squarely on the Celts players front office and coach. The potential havoc would be as satisfying as anything.
  15. Either of Boston or Milwaukee is going to smoke the Hawks. Might steal a game or two if we get lucky against Boston but Milwaukee will sweep us. Either of Boston or Milwaukee is going to smoke the Hawks. Might steal a game or two if we get lucky against Boston but Milwaukee will sweep us.
  16. Time to move on from JC he's not the guy we signed at 25 million a year. Sad to say as I am one of his biggest fans but you can't ignore year in year out regression the last 4 years and the acceleration of health problems along the way.
  17. Not saying coaching wasn't a problem. Just never the problem. To those saying we've played better since Nate left, it's really been a marginal improvement at best. Some fans were thinking we could turn the season around by just getting rid of Nate, not only did we get rid of Nate but brought in probably the best HC candidate available and the team hasn't shown much. Too many of our player's are just not as good as many on here think. This isn't JC from several years ago, Hunter isn't the player he flashed for 20 games three years, Cap is clearly got some deterioarting health issues and DJM at the 2 is a failure. Wholesale changes need to be made.
  18. My point is not to shit on Quinn, just pointing out the main problem with the Hawks isn't and wasn't ever a coaching problem. Coaches tend to look crappy when your players are not good. The Hawks need better players.
  19. So is Quin also an idiot that doesn't know how to draw up plays like Nate? Or are we starting to see maybe our players are the ones struggling to execute down the stretch?
  20. So the first year kicks in after this season and last year is team option. I went from not liking this deal to being Ok with it. To me a perfect deal would have been three years with the last year being a team option. We give Bogi next year to prove he can be healthy and if he can't he's essentially in a contract year the following year and very tradeable.
  21. Don't understand locking up the oft injured 30 year old player who has declined every year he's been on the team, but whatev. We must not be too high on AJ. Rather just have kep Huerter who at least was trending the right direction and was younger. Bogi is a good player but we need defensive players on this team and his defense just gets worse and worse.
