  1. Seems to be back in the rotation. For all we know it could have just been some minor illness or coaching staff wanting him to analyze a few things from the bench that he was doing wrong.
  2. Took us 2:30 hours to get to the stadium and once there the concessions were a ridiculous nightmare 50 min lines to get anything. But other than that, was pretty awesome. We made sure our section knew who to cheer for and by the end it felt like we were celebrating a win at the OMNI like old times.
  3. Was at the game with my pops, great atmosphere, the "home" team was Orlando but there was MANY Hawks fans at the game, which was pretty surprising to me. Saw jerseys for Steve Smith, Kyle Korver, Dikembe, and a plethora of Young Jerseys everywhere, curiously a lot had the old hideous "hawk feather" Jersey's from the Bud days. Feel after Young's first half pretty much he won over the neutral crowd, and by the end of the game most were cheering for the Hawks. Also something else I thought was pretty cool not sure if this was shown on the telecast: During one of the timeout segments they honored a few nba "Legends" that were in attendance and Nique got a very big and loud standing ovation.
  4. He's literally like a bottom 20 player in the NBA.
  5. Bad news for our offense - Most of our guys are gonna stop scoring at 65% TS the way they have been to start the year. Good news for our offense - Trae isn't going to be a 49% TS all season.
  6. They do RAPTOR but RAPTOR needs something like a 20-30 game sample before it exists.
  7. Obivously he isn't gonna be at 70% TS all season, but I do believe he may have turned the corner and will actually be +efficient this year, which is what we need him to be. Hunter is off to an amazing start and if he keeps playing anywhere near this level it would be enormous for the Hawks.
  8. Let's not act like he never gets calls because of a silent whistle this half, he's been living at thd line all season.
  9. Looks like our biggest strength this year is our depth. Our bench unit with either Bey/Johnson + Bogi + OO is going to give a lot of team fits. The "just" Trae or DJM lineups are going to be effective unlike last year. I wouldn't gut the bench for a "star" that isn't really a star.
  10. The time to sell "high" has come and gone. But I'd still sell him for some younger backup type big and let OO take the starter mins.
  11. His defense hasn't been good this season. Cap has aged 4 years this offseason. His decline had been a thing the last several years but he just took several steps down. I hope he can bounce back, I think it was two years ago he was awful first half and picked it up. Last season he was awesome first half and then was awful second half. I love the dude and what he brought to this team but he is the prime candidate to be moved IMO. We need to get a younger rawer version of him and let OO get the starter mins.
  12. JC was a great player for the Hawks up until last year. Not sure what happened but he was really a shell of the player he had been even post-Capella. At his best, he was just as valuable as other recent Hawks semi-star PFs like Milsap and J-Smoove. I hope a change of scenery can spark him to regain his game because at the level he was playing last season, he is gonna end up being one of the guys that just bounces around a bunch to end his career. He obviously isn't happy about how management handled him in Atlanta and that is his right to feel that way. I don't find it offensive or wrong personally.
  13. The team wasn't very good last year, and the offseason saw no significant changes to the roster. I have some optimism with a full year of Snyder, but I wouldn't be hyped about the Hawks if I wasn't a homer.
  14. Well let's see how he does this year. With how wing players get consistently overpaid and how we locked up Hunter. I was always of the idea that he was a sort of rental.
  15. It's also a marketing thing. In a star driven league you want to showcase as many stars as possible. Media members benefit off of it as well. The PR campaign for Embiid was massive, and I know people were talking about racism, but I don't think Perk or any of them claiming Jokic was winning MVP's because he's white actually believed it or cared for themselves It was all just part of the marketing campaign they were putting together to get clicks and views.
  16. This was made abundantly clear to me after our series against them. If Embiid isn't an out-of-shape cry baby p*ssy afraid of clutch moments the Hawks get steamrolled. Ben got all the heat but a lot of it should have been directed at Embiid. Now this year after an even more pathetic showing in the playoffs on the heels of his "MVP" season, and Rivers getting the boot, Embiid is officially out of sacrificial scapegoats to hide behind if(when) he chokes again.
  17. Jalen has the skill set and he has the work ethic. I think he'll be a really good one. Only concern is his shooting to me.
  18. Of course, but underrated? He was a perennial All-Star with Atlanta and a no doubt about it fan favorite. Maybe he's been a little forgotten as time has gone by but not sure with I agree that he was underrated. No one is gonna have anything but good things to say when you bring up his name. On the other hand... Shareef.
  19. Will be there no matter what. If any Squawkers are making the trip drop me a line maybe we can organize something, lot's of fun stuff to do here. There used to be a very similar daylight savings period that mirrored U.S. but it was scrapped this year. EDIT: To clarify: Time zone has traditionally been CST, but now we are 1 hour behind CST for half of the year. Been kind of a mess for me, I work remotely for a U.S. company and the change in time zone this year has broken all the meetings I schedule on outlook lol.
  20. Wes isn't going to be on the rotation barring injuries. I see a lot of you haven't been up to date on Wesley's game the last 3 seasons.
  21. Bogi has consistently balled out with us whenever he's healthy. Which Admittedly has been only around half the time, but hopefully the surgery last year fixed whatever he had that was nagging and he can have a full healthy season for once.
  22. I legit blacked out all memory of Rondo ever being a Hawk.
  23. Hilarious you posted this right before the Wes Mathews move was posted on the thread. Wish granted?
  24. Yup, somewhat unique situation for Siakam on the verge of being a free agent with a super max. Obvious tactic by Siakams camp to scare away trade partners as much as possible, and on the other side Raptors stuck in no man's land with a mediocre squad of young role players that don't fit the timeline of Siakam who is going to turn 30. So Raptors in an obvious sell position and little leverage.
  25. If the fit doesn't resolve itself we now have an asset of really good value to trade. The deal itself is great news regardless. The worst case scenario was losing Murray for nothing after trading 3 first round picks away
