  1. I don't think anyone would be opposeed to it except for two pretty big facts: 1) Siakam is a pending free agent rumored to be seeking a massive contract 2) ownership is cheap af.
  2. He should be valued at the same ballpark as DJM, IMO I would prefer to pay him a little less because of his age.
  3. It's really just a product of small samples at this stage. Pretty sure that number will even out as the season matures.
  4. Easier said than done. Half the teams in the NBA are looking for the same thing, those that have the guys don't want to give them up We have had our chances in the draft and have seemingly blown it.
  5. No one is giving us a better player than Trae back on a Trae trade. It would be a lesser player + filler + picks, and that would mean rebuilding.
  6. DJM is not the guy. I was really hyped when we got him but he turns out he was just putting up big numbers in a last place team.
  7. I would approve the change from current front office to Gray Mule in a heartbeat.
  8. No JJ, no Trae and now a Northcyde jinx against the even if we were healthy much better than us Sixers? Gonna have to skip this one with too much shit going on. Hope you guys get to enjoy a miracle win.
  9. Nah, he's not much of a defender and can't shoot and is looking for a max contract.
  10. As much of a walking red flag as he's been, part of me thinks he's just trying to to play (eat) his way out of New Orleans. Would a change of scenery fix his attitude? It's the type of gamble we will have to consider if we are looking to add an impact player because no big time impact guy without question marks is going to be available to us unless we are looking to ship Trae.
  11. Nothing wrong with moving on from either of those guys. Giving them up for virtually nothing is the issue
  12. Not sure how great their front office has been. They got rid of Carlisle for Kidd which is a huge downgrade, they let Bronson and Porzingis leave. They were able to put together a decent defense one season which is when Dallas made it to the WCF, every other year they really haven't had much more success than the Hawks at all.
  13. They don't impress me, they won't finish with a much better record than the Hawks barring the Hawks blowing it up.
  14. I mean Minny mortgage their entire future on Gobert. They were never gonna trade him after one season where KAT missed the majority of it.
  15. And guess what? Dalla ain't that great either. Luka is the second coming of James Harden, their offense of everyone standing in by the three point line while Luka dribbles the air out of the ball is not gonna give them a championship, ever.
  16. It hasn't worked out at all on that end. Offensively I feel if one is going off the other is watching. Neither are efficient on small doses, and off ball imo.
  17. I'd comfortably pick Trae over Fox. They have a better team around him overall than the Hawks do, he's been a better scorer this year but nowhere near the playmaker. He's definitely bridged the gap this year quite a bit though.
  18. No one in the world thought Hali would break out the way he did this year, not to the extent he has. Hindsight is 20/20.
  19. Not criticizing the change, but just pointing out Nate was scapegoated for things out of his control, specifically, the defense.
  20. You can hate his system or whatever but we were 4 games over .500 with the 2nd and 7th rated offense in his two "full" seasons as coach. Quinn's style may be more fun but the results have not been better.
  21. Easy to say, but which free agent are we talking about exactly? Siakam? Not many franchise type guys are ever going to be available anymore with the way supermax exists.
  22. It's too risky for the team to trade Trae Young as many have pointed out. He's the most marketable player on a sport where individual players put butts in the seats that the Hawks have had since Dominique. Hawks have been a perennial top 2-7 offense since Nate took over in 2020, so it's hard to argue Trae has not been pulling his weight. Is he worth a super-max or keystone to a championship team? Tough to say, but the one time the Hawks were playing some defense they made a run that saw them get closer to an NBA finals than they ever had. Bottom line the team needs to find a way to fill the roster with impact defenders instead of relying on 1 or 2 guys that are defensive players, but judging by the absolutely incredible mismanagement of assets I don't have much faith they will be able to do that. We traded away two solid starting players (Huert and Collins) and Cam Reddish and all we got was a this lousy magnet. All those three guys could be traded today by their teams for better players assets than the Hawks got back, and I'm not saying they would net an amazing haul, but I'm pretty sure they would net at least 3 rotation players which is a lot more than the Hawks recieved back, and which would be extremely welcome at this point in time.
  23. Super disappointing season. People owe Nate a bit of an apology, not saying he was a perfect or even a great coach, but we are seeing he wasn't the main issue (as I pointed out at the time) Agreed, it makes him moveable, and that is obviously what the Hawks will have to do at some point. DJ will have a lot more value for some other team at PG than he does for us at SG.
  24. Bad no call notwithstanding, the notion Trae doesn't get whistles is verifiably ridiculous. Pretty sure he's top five in most free throws taken since he entered the league.
  25. I'm more disappointed by his defense there were stretches the last few years where he was dominant on that end. Haven't seen it all year.
