  1. I think bringing Chill back would be a good move, add a long wing defender allow Smith to play wing defense less and help side D more where he is much more effective. Get rid of the some of the effects of having defensive liability caused by being undersized at the 2 at times. We have guys that can fill it up so Chill wouldn't need to score, I think its a good fit now.

    Jordan Hill

Sounds good to me but i don't think he will be cheap.
  3. I would be happy with that move. Noah and Horford already are familiar with each other and i'm sure would play well together. I'm not sure how that is a good move for the Bulls either unless as a followup for getting Pau.
  4. I definitely would want Chillz back! He is efficient, and a slasher, which we need more of!
  5. I thought a coach that demanded respect would let Teague run the damn team. I don't think it is so much that Teague is a ineffective PG its just that the coach is allowing J Smoove and JJ to handle the ball too much. When he doesn't handle the ball JT gets passive at both ends I feel.
  6. Paul Pierce has got to be one of the most prolific drama queens in the entire NBA, lol
  7. Hollins does a lot of things during the games the referees should pay attention to, he is a dirty player! I don't know how he gets away with it because he does more than Garnett does, without the pedigree!
  8. I agree 100%! Also aren't they using the gang sign that Pierce used in Atlanta in 2008 ? Its so lame! I'm also pulling for the 76ers to eliminate them but i'd like to see Heat- Pacers in East Final.
  9. I also think if the Celtics hadn't ended the Hawks season the 76ers may have. Although Al may have made a difference against them, who knows. I know we looked bad against the 76ers without Al. Didn't they win all 3 games?
  10. I think we think of Drew as one of the league's better assistant coaches. Not Head Coaching material. He hasn't done anything yet to show that he can break the team of old habits, not sure the team respects him as the "Head Coach" rather he is one of the familiar faces more like a brother than a father so to speak.
  11. I don't expect ASG to offer him the job but I'm sure he would at least interview for the job of head coach of the Hawks if it were available. He and Jeff Van Gundy are two of the good coaches i've noticed to appreciate the Hawks potential.
  12. Well I think its obvious that Sir Charles reserves his criticism for the Hawks. The celtics need a true center, are poorly constituted, Garnett gets away with moving screens (Charles applauds it, and condemns when it is called the way it should be, as it was in Game 2 of the 6ers series) but Charles neglects to mention these facts about them.
  13. Actually I don't think its low post scoring we need. We do need more rebounding from the front line but i think we need a scorer / defender on the wing that can knock down shots consistently or drive the ball to the hole and get to the free throw line to take the pressure off of joe and make room for teague to drive to the hole. Make teams pay for double teaming Joe. Marvin's role is this but he can't consistently do it. So find us a starter who can.
  14. Yep. Surprise - KG called for the moving screen in a critical play at the end with the 6ers up 75-72. Guess what? Doug Collins worked the officials during the game for that call.Larry Drew needs to take note.

    Nash or Bust?

I'd like to see what Teague can do with another offseason under his belt. He should be even better next season. Not sure that putting Nash in front of him in the depth chart will help his confidence all that much.

    Josh Smith

You're right about fans making Smoove the scapegoat. Its easy to do because when the offense breaks down its often Smoove with the ball. Joe or whoever throws it out to him because he is left open. Teams would rather Smoove take the shot than Joe obviously so they cheat off him. He wants to make the defense pay for that. It doesn't appear the coach has a problem with Smoove hanging out on the perimeter or taking that shot. If he is hitting it thats fine but if he has missed a few in a row coaches should be in his ear telling him to attack the rim, try to draw a foul. If we had a real offense, Smoove would take good, open perimeter jumpshots in the flow in his comfort zone, not forced up with nothing on the shot clock or low on the shot clock, and would also get touches near the paint so he could attack the rim or draw a foul or both.

    Josh Smith

I think Josh does so many different things well, unlike other stars who do 2 things well, he does 5 (points, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks) and also things that aren't in the stat sheets (like keeping guards out of the paint or changing their shots if they dare try due to intimidation factor), that fans don't appreciate how good he really is. The "superstars" do 2 categories extremely well, Josh doesn't do anything extremely well but all well. Sure he makes some mistakes but I think at least half of that is on the coaching. When is the last time we ran a real offense? Probably when Lenny Wilkins was the coach. I think a good coaching hire would go a long way for us to resign Smith. I don't think he is unhappy or happy with us at this point he is just indifferent.

    Fines

the NBA needs a regime change. Stern needs to go. The small market teams need to be marketed as well as the large market teams. Even officiating would go a long way to promote this. There are no excuses for such huge home court advantages. The Home Crowd should be enough as 6th man, don't need 6th man and 7th man being officiating as well especially for the large market / legacy teams. Its a freakin joke.
  19. Joe is what he is. I don't see him getting any better. I don't see how we can get more out of him he can't really blow past guys.I definitely don't see in him that he would sacrifice part of his salary for the team to add another piece to get better.
  20. I'm pretty sure a coach like JVG would have had a ton more than just one. That is a major problem for a coach to be passive, all the good ones are actively working the officials.
  21. LD should have got a tech EARLY in this game, to let the refs know that he wasn't putting up with the BS. How many moving screens by Garnett did LD just sit there and watch? How many hacks going against the Hawks for Celtics flailing arms drives to the hoops vs Teague or JJ getting mugged? LD just sits there and watches it. That isn't the only reason I want LD gone, I think his rotations suck. No more all bench players coming in, always leave a key guy in with the subs! thats what Doc and all the good coaches do. He needs to go and this team needs a coach that has taken a team to at least a Conference Final as well as a GM who has led a franchise to do the same!!!
  22. They can take LD with him! PLEASE!
  23. I 've liked them this year also! They play the game the right way. Would absolutely love a Memphis Denver Conference Final, and Stern would be p***
  24. I agree with that! I don't think Woody's offense plays to Marvin's strengths at all. There are very few players in the NBA that can consistently succeed in Woody's scheme, that is with the majority of the offense coming from ISO 1 v 1 play. I would like to see the offensive system run plays for different players to get shots rather than coming off the random open look coming off a rare pass out of a double team by JJ or JC. The only times this season that Marvin has performed well (offensively) is when he hit all his shots early so they fed him and fanned him. JJ and JC can miss a TON of shots yet the ISO plays are still run for them, cold or hot. Thats why when they are both cold we lose 9 out of 10 times.
