  1. Did I said that? I am not counting on this team to make noise inmediately. I think we have a hole at C and we need to fill it. I don't think Bruno is the answer based on what I have seen. I think this team could be in a position of makinf noise un 3-4 years if we are able to retain the players. Same happened to GSW, abd same to Phily. Sorry I don't rhink he is the answer.
  2. I am comparing chances on draft between going to playoff or finishing in top 8 of worst teams, yeah there is a difference.... Considering our need is a C and the best 2 will be top 10 or even top 5. Put a good C on this team and things will change a lot.
  3. I think we have a good young core in Young, Huerter, Reddish, Hunter, Collins and even Fernando. I think we are far from winning and our first and only priority is to develop them and see what we have. If I am Schlenk I would be looking to give 30 min to all of them this season and see what we have, that would be my priority, even at the cost of some wins. If the team is capable to make the playoffs... Hey perhaps we have something special... If the team loose that would be what you can expect on 95% of the situations, we will use the season to develop and evaluate these players and we will complete the team through the draft. I don't have any doubt that we will end on a better position to win a ring if we get a top 5 pick and draft Wiseman and fill the team on 2021 Free agency than if we make the playoffs now and go and overpay for a weak Free Agent class on 2020. I am fine with being at player development one more year. Be patient guys
  4. Well, year 2 of rebuild is still too early, we added some pieces and they have to get used to NBA, still we have major holes, eveything normal forma rebuilding team, making playoffs on year 2 would be an unexpected sucesos, I still think we Will improve to 33-35 range
  5. We already knew we were going to be bad at C. Bruno cannot playa big minutes and we should have invested on a Young big like Looney, Wood, Holmes, Bhirch or others.... just try them. We adquired Damian Jones instead, too soon to give un on him but we do not see much potential there.
  6. Lol I was convinced Reddish would not fall, I am glad he fall to us, I really think he can be special
  7. It is not just luck, it's to find the pieces that fit together and have the flexibility for it. You can nearly plug and play any SF or C at GS because they already have the passing, shooting and defense with Curry, Thompson and Green. Lowry, Green, Kawhi, Siakam also allow a lot of flexibility, anyway FVV, Ibaka, Gasol were fantastic additions. I think Young, Huerter, Hunter and Collins might become also a good fit. If Reddish explodes Young, Reddish, Hunter and Collins might be even better core
  8. I have clear that Bogdanovic, Porter, Lou Williams, Buddy Hield are not better than Trae but... perhaps is better they undervalue our team.
  9. We could take BPA because we did not have a core to keep. When we drafted Young and Huerter only Collins was a keeper and on this draft Young, Huerter and Collins were the keepers on a deep draft loaded with wing players and Centers and not much difference in talent. We could take BPA at our draft position. You could make a case between Garland and Hunter but I think Hunter was a better player for us. Reddish and Fernando were BPA, no doubt. Next draft a decission needs to be done, BPA or fill a need. All depends on how confident we are on our core. In my opinion in a team with only 5 keepers we should still go BPA, of course a big is a clear need.
  10. You draft best player available until you have an idea what you have, Young, Collins and Huerter. Then you still go for BPA but trying to complement what you have, we traded up for elite defense and size on Hunter, and also drafting talent that fits, Reddish. Next step should be to draft BPA on a position of need that fits your style C and Backup PG. Schlenk need to be careful there, if you have to reach for that it would better to draft BPA that fits your style no matter the position. Add the C and PG via FA as you have the cap space to do it. I agree with Schlenk, lot of picks means more chances to get a star, always go for BPA but trying to build a team, they did a wonderful job this year, next year will be much more difficult as there are less holes to cover.

    Our future

Definately our core for the future is Young, Huerter, Reddish, Hunter and Collins. We clearly lack a Center, we should be targeting one in the draft or FA. Bruno is still not part of oir future but is intriguing going forward. hopefully he is. Turner is not part of this team future. Parker might be if he mixes well with the core. Len is young and has potential, he could be part of this team's future Bembry might also be on the future but he is clearly replaceable. Crabbe, I like him as an offensive spark of the bench I think going forward we might consider Young/? Reddish/Huerter Hunter/? Collins/Parker ?/Len Three holes to fill on the draft/FA
  12. What we are doing is to add young players with potential and get rid of bad contracts. We are aligning the end of all bad contracts with the time this young players will begin to produce enough to be able to win. I think this is a right way to do things. This season the goal is to develop all young players, give them 30 mpg and see what they can do. If you improve but we are still in the lottery I would consider it normal, players take time to develop, produce and win. We will have 2 picks in the lottery and will look to complete the roster with a Center and a Guard. If we make the playoffs with 2 sophomores and 2 rookies playing more than 30 mpg and another rookie with 20-25mpg... hey perhaps we really found a superstar or a superteam, I doubt a team so young ever made the playoffs. Anyway in 2 years we will have all the cap space to decide, we keep improving and trying to find a superstar or we are set and add a FA to be a contender. I think we are doing things right.
  13. We need to play our young guys, Young, Huerter, Hunter, Collins and Reddish need to hit the 30 mpg this season. Bruno needs to play 20 mpg, that should be the goal this season. All in an improvement environment lead by Trae with his stellar play that makes things easier for the rest. Collins should fly around the rim and play sligthly better this season, Huerter, Reddish and Hunter will have his shots from 3 and will help on defense and ball handling. Target is for all of them to play, contribute and improve. All are young players and the goal is to improve. That is what is rebuilding on a right way. They will make mistakes as other rookies and those mistakes will cost wins but winning is still not the target. That is why although I think we will improve the number of wins we will not make the playoffs. Next season we will have 2 picks on the lottery, we draft a C and a backup PG and we are set going forward.
  14. I really hope we have hit a homerun with Hunter because I really like Hayes and Clarke
  15. I am beginning to be nervous about Cam's injury, very nervous, why is taking so much time?
  16. I think he could be a 13ppg, 5rpg, 4 apg, 1 spg guy with slightly better percentages which is great for a 20th year old sophomore
  17. That is exactly my point, long term there is no doubt we made a huge progress but this season players are going to be really young. If this team is able to make playoffs with a core of 2 sophomores, 2 rookies, a 22 year PF and a bunch of 25-27th year old role players... Atl would be on conference finals for a decade, I doubt we are so good. It expect Huerter, Hunter and Reddish to struggle a bit till January, Huerter will pick where he left last year but will not meet improvement expectations since first month. It would be absolutely stunning they produce since fist game, hopefully they can but I would not be disapointed if they are not, is the standard for young players. I think we are sometimes mixing the medium-long term expectations with the reality next month. I am very optimistic for this team in 2 years, if we keep the team together we could be one of the top teams on the east but we are not there yet.
  18. I don't understand the comparison made on the thread I think comparison should be for players playing same position. In my opinion Lin > Turner Baze < Crabbe Prince = Hunter, hopefully Justin Anderson < Reddish Spellman < Parker Dedmon >> Jones Plumlee < Fernando On players with significant minutes, Lin, Baze, Prince and Dedmon I think we lose a bit with Turner, Crabbe, Hunter and Jones although I think some of Dedmon's minutes will go to Parker and Collins at C. The clear win on the team is contributions from Reddish and Parker, would it be enough to overcome what we lose on Dedmon, Prince and Lin? Difficult to tell.
  19. ???, I don't know what to think about that answer
  20. Milwaukee, Philadelphia, Boston, Brooklin, Toronto, Indiana, Miami, Detroit and Orlando are better in my opinion. Miami might be in discussion but they added Butler, Herro and Leonard and lost Richardson and Witheside, they have 3 young up and cong players that will improve in Adebayo, Derrick Jomes Jr and Winslow, they could improve their 39 wins.
  21. I expect an improvement but I don't think we should realistically expect to make the playoffs as we are a new and very young team. I expect improvement from Trae, John and Huerter, solid (same as last year) contributions from Len and Bembry and early and even season struggles from Reddish and Hunter, they are really young and although they could show some highlights is difficult they can produce consistently. I am expecting offensive struggle from Hunter and overall struggle from Cam. Wild cards will be Crabbe, Parker and Jones if they exceesd last year production perhaps we could make it but I think we still have many weaknesses to make the playoffs.
  22. I think that lineup would be weak , we would lack size at PF and C, I think is better keeping Collins at PF to have chances to win a ring. That lineup would be similar to that Suns with Nash and Stoudemire at C, they did not win anything despite having Marion. Size and defense matters specially in playoffs
  23. I find strange we keep signing PF while our clear need is at C and PG. Once we signed Spalding I thought we were heading for a C, not another PF.
  24. According to Sam Charania https://mobile.twitter.com/ShamsCharania/status/1157353993619853312?s=20 Warriors free agent Marcus Derrickson has agreed to a deal (Exhibit 10) with the Atlanta Hawks, league sources tell Small PF, good shooter, good wingspan, played for the Warriors and made a good preseason
