  1. Real problem on the team is that we cannot defend big SF, I mean is not a coincidence Hayward had his best game of the season against us, same happens with Lebron, Melo, Crowder.... any big SF is going to have a feast against us, we just do not have any big SF to defend the position. Is not Baze's fault that he is destroyed on defense every game by Big SF, he is a SG playing out of position. of course he is not having a great season but our lack of size at this position and the need to play him is making him look more horrible.

    DUNLEAVY

I already wrote that he could fit better, not as good shooter as Korver of course but more suited to the SF position, has size and can rebound and defend better the SF, I think is an upgrade over Thabo too... of course if injuries respect him
  3. This is simple, Boston won because they have an all-star PG who dominated and they exploded our weaknesses, our 5 not good at defending outside and the SF position that we cannot defend well due to lack of size. What we did? We could have tried to take advantage of their weakness but we did not, feed Howard on the post, they cannot defend him, take advantage o Thomas size, we did not use it. Howard only 4 touches, Schröder horrible on offense... So... teven with that only 2 pt difference at the end... I get the feeling Dunleavy can help at SF position, better than Thabo...
  4. Denver is not trading Jokic for an expiring, no team would do that. we are not trading for Chandler and Gallinari, that would make us one of the worst defensive teams. a more realistic scenario would be Harris and Nurkic, I could see the Hawks doing that, not sure about Denver but at least is a fair trade
  5. Of course not but I think we end cutting Scott to sign a FA PG
  6. I think once we decide who we cut, and I think will be Scott we will sign a Pg on FA. I think is going to be Scott due to his legal issues and the fact that Humph, Muscala and Prince are better players and can provide help. Good options could help us are Dinwidee, Lorenzo Brown, Norris Cole, Phil Pressey, Marshall, Udrih or Chalmers and I think are better than Bynum and Jack right now
  7. Will Bynum and Richard Solomon have signed with Hawks for training camp. Bynum have some flashes during the past seasons, wonder if he could make the roster and provide help at PG while Jack is out.
  8. Taking a look to this reinforces some ideas I had, Milsap is effective playing the 3, more than at4?? Horford is more effective at 4, Teague did a good job at PG, slightly better than Dennis and surprisingly decent stats by Thabo. Korver did better defensively at the 3 than Baze..
  9. Well, that finish the discussion, surprised to see Derozan defensive stats are about the same as Bazemore's
  10. For me that is clear, I like Baze but we are making him play out of position, seems that is our more common fault, I hope Bud reacts and puts him at his position playing Thabo or Prince at the 3. That is why I fear Hardaway stepping up, That would be the perfect excuse to play Baze at the 3
  11. Well, although we all wish Prince will contribute since day 1 he was a reach at 12 and I think he will not play at all the first half of the season, that is taking into account Bud's history and also that I don't think he is exactly a star in the making.... I want to say I think he will work well in our system but I don't expect a contribution since day 1. That basically means we will be the same rotation this season, I am happy with our moves but we should adress this hole.
  12. Not 10%, actually I did take a look and is much more than that, Lebron, Durant, Carmelo, Gallinari, Rudy Gay, Kawhi, Paul George, Batum or Kidd Gilchrist, Hayward, Marcus Morris, Otto Porter, Covington-Saric, Parsons, Deng, Wiggins, Barnes, and that is assuming Bazemore can guard Butler, Middleton, Crowder or Evan Turner that clearly play bigger than him... That is more than half of the league.... We need a true SF
  13. You are not going to solve the rebound problem only with Dwight, we need the wings to contribute too, we need some size. Anyway I have to recognize I did not remember last time I was chatting so much here, changes are bringing excitement this season to the team, this was not working so the change is more than welcome
  14. Could not say it better, Baze needs to start at SG, Hardaway Jr playing is not going to solve anything, we have a MAJOR hole at 3, huge hoele, can only be filled by a rookie and? We need to sign someone and make some trades
  15. Untill we get a reliable starter at 3, our ceiling is the same as last year, perhaps a little bit higher as Howard is a true center and our bench is a little bit stronger. Can we win a game against Cleveland? Ummm doubt it if we do not have someone to hold his feet against Bron. Floor is probably lower, Dennis needs to prove he can do the same as Teague, Howard needs to prove he can make a come back at center. Starters? We have a major hole at SF. The bench with Jack, Delaney, Hardaway, Korver, Prince, Humph, Splitter and Tavares, I see that as a positive, good bench compared to other teams
  16. Squad 1 I guess but not because today, Noel I think can be a good center for many years and we still could have Prince at 21 Otherwise I am excited to see Howard here but still I guess is 1
  17. I don't like anyone from that list. Chalmers might work but we already have Jack, we need a 3 with size.
  18. You must be kidding, Scott only came to play twice on playoffs, rest of the time was invisible specially against Cleveland. Our best defender was abused by Lebron all playoffs, he saved stats by 2 decent games but against the Celtics was a disaster. They were a non factors. You like it or not but Harkless did more than decent in meaningful minutes against better teams and is younger with more potential, everybody can see it, and I am not even talking about Muscala or Hardaway. I know where we are going with these 2 supposedly good players for a playoff team, you think is better to keep mediocre players to make a mediocre playoffs? Ok that might work for you but I prefer to play a player wih potential, sorry I am not buying mediocrity!! Thabo might be better today is not going to provide better value next 3 Years and anyway I already know he is going to be destroyed by Lebron, perhaps I prefer to throw at him a young player that can evolve, at worst he gets destroyed as Thabo but he will be learning for next season.
  19. When given the minutes he has shot above 0,333 % from 3, he has the potential to be a decent 3 pt shooter, agreed FT is an issue, rest of his game is fine and only 23 years old, help me to understand what was so important about Scott and Thabo on playoffs? They were a non factor at best, this guy was key to win a series to Clippers, that will be more than those 2 can say ever
  20. You know this guy is only 23 right? Already better than Scott, Muscala and Hardaway, better potential than Thabo and about the same as Bembry and Prince.
  21. Sorry Scott is no better player, Harkless averaged on playoffs against Clippers 12,7 ppg, 6,2rpg, 0,7 spg, 0,3 bpg on ,476FG%, when Scott has made a 20pts 16 rb game? How many double-double game has Scott made? Perhaps you overvalue too much a player with no athleticism, no rebounding and no defense, Harkless has it all. About Bembry I agree, I would not cut him for Harkless but Harkless is better TODAY. About Thabo, I would put at Lebron or Kawhi this guy rather than Thabo, Thabo does not have the size and we need a 3 with size. Thabo perhaps was a top defender but he is not today, is 32 and going down. I said this guy perhaps is not better today but a 3 years of this guy will be better than 3 years of Thabo.
  22. Better player today than Scott, Muscala, Bembry, Hardaway and I would say even Thabo, perhaps not today but I would cut Thabo next 3 years for next 3years of Harkless, better value, no doubt.
  23. I think he is a young and athletic 3 that can defend well and is a work in progress on offense, definately an upgrade over some bench players here and a good fit till Prince and Bembry develop if they ever develop on a starter, Harkless is better than them today and can provide quality minutes as a big 3, a player we miss really
  24. Not trying to be pessimistic just realistic Prince looks a little slow for me for the NBA level, I doubt he can penetrate so easy at NBA, needs to be a lot quicker Bembry has a slow release on his jumpshot, is going to be blocked quite often
  25. I am beginning to get excited with this team. Clearly we have some holes although we adressed some of them We got the dominant center we have been looking in the past, we can play on the glass now, make some inside plays, see some post moves and open space for shooters, defenses will try to stop Dwight, you can see that on Rockets 3pt % We got slightly bigger at C and SF, guess also SG if Baze is playing there. We improved our rebounding We improved our depth, our 2nd unit looks fine now, best I have seen in last 10 years. We still have some holes Starting SF is still below average , Prince is just a hope today, we know what we have in Thabo or Korver and probably are on of the 3 worst starters at SF. I f Prince steps up and makes a decent year that would be a plus for us. No star at wing No proven scorer for 2nd unit as Crawford, Williams or similar... No 6th man of the year No go to player for final minutes And some question marks Can Schröder play at a level that we get same production as Teague? Can Jack or Delaney get similar production as Schröder last year? Can Prince provide 25 min of 3pt and D at SF? Can Dwight stay healthy? Overall I think we will be stronger on the paint, have more space for shooters and rebound better with some questions at the PG position and overall defense, a go to scorer would put this team on the top of the east
