  1. Horford has been one of my favorite players because of his consistency and energy. However, his health concerns me also.
  2. wow, why do you think he would start over DMC?
  3. Have to agree. Bebe and Muscalla may never be in a Hawks uniform. Seems like those picks have been high risk high reward. Think you'd be right. Horf or Milsap would be gone. So Horford would come off the bench? That would never happen.
  4. I really like Lou but I'm not sure he fits this system. He has been struggling lately and I'm not sure if he's cold or lost.
  5. completely agree about lack of rebounding/interior defense and offense.
  6. The Omer Asik rumor has been floating around since last year. Apparently the Rockets have a high asking price considering the lack of legitimate centers in the NBA. In the 90s LeBron would never be able to play C and would have a tough time at PF. Nonetheless, if Atlanta traded for Asik what would happen long term? Ideally Milsap isn't traded. And if he's not what do the Hawks do next year? Milsap is a bargain and fits Buds system very well with his high BBIQ. This is the second time one of our favorite Hawks players has gone down for the year. Horford's recovery will be longer and tougher since he injured his shooting arm. Al did express frustration with the franchise in the off season and it wasn't clear if he was hinting towards asking for a trade. This is the issue. If the Hawks acquire a big man and retain Horford and Milsap how do they rotate the 3 players? Horford would naturally fit at PF, however Milsap is not a starting SF in my opinion. I agree that the Hawks needs C and SF, I just don't see how it's possible to retain Horford and Milsap and land a big long term.
  7. Lou looks lost and doesn't seem to fit what Bud is trying to accomplish. They always seem to be arguing on the sidelines during timeouts. agree. DMC is a good player however he should not be starting. I would sign Terk considering they need a backup SF and Scott should be playing PF
  8. I agree with you completely. I used to watch Asik and wonder why everyone though so highly of him. He did well with CHI b/c Tibidou and DRose and Deng. He would not do very well here. Those who keep saying we need a big, isn't Gortat a free-agent after this year?
  9. Only way I would want to deal Milsap for Asik is if we got Parsons or Jones or multiple first round picks. Milsap will be a highly sought after target during the trade deadline. Asik's value is at bottom considering the rockets want to deal him within the next 48 hours.
  10. Good to know and shitty to know. What if he agrees to a trade though. Bottom line, thread was created to discuss his regression. Not sure if he is the long-term PG.
  11. Possibly, I think everyone (myself included) had such high expectation for Schröder. We have to remember, he is coming from Europe and needs to adjust. I agree though that JT would have been traded. I still think he is expendable with Macks recent development. Mack looks better running the court anyways. Wonder if LAL or Chicago would be interested in Teague.
  12. Asik is a glorified backup center that did well in Chicago because of DRose.
  13. Jeff Teague started the season averaging 20.45 PPG and 8.5 APG, both appear to be solid numbers. However, his below 46% field goal percent and awful 3PT % were concerns. Now, he is one of the leading PGs for turnovers. I've voiced my concerns over Teague and lack of consistency for years. He plays at an elite level for a set of games and then shoots 34% for the week and nearly average a 1-1 ratio assist to turnovers. This team obviously hinders on the PGs success. When Jeff is playing well like he did against Dallas on Nov 29 and SA Dec. 2 this team is capable of winning against some of the best teams. Then he goes silent from the field and looks lost passing the ball, i.e. last night. Users want to trade Milsap. I think the Hawks should be looking to trade Teague.
  14. LD was never going to remain HC when Ferry took over. They have different visions. Great is an overstatement. I think LD is capable of getting a team into the playoffs, just not past the second round. His strategy is predictable.
  15. You're right. However, most of the city of Atlanta doesn't agree. This team has not had a superstar since Nique left. If they want fans to get behind them then they need to get a star. Despite the fact that Howard was never coming to Atlanta, and I'm glad he didn't, all your average fans did was complain how the Hawks did not land DH.
  16. Coaching matters in the NBA. The fact that Mack was on the roster last year and LD only gave him scrub minutes is pathetic. Bud has developed Mack's confidence to be able to play at an NBA level.
  17. Did this happen? Or is this a suggestion? If Shrod was demoted, I'm not surprised. He hasn't been getting any minutes and Mack has evolved into a solid backup PG. Many members on this forum suggested Mack would be playing at this level when we signed him last year. I'm glad to see he has developed. I believe Bud is a major reason to his growth.
  18. Relax. We know we need a center. Bud is doing the best he can to give the backup Centers quality minutes. He is evaluating if they are legit or not. Small sample size Ayón looks solid. Antić will be better once he stops trying to take 3pts.
  19. Teague played poorly again last night. Looks like he is pressing and teams are starting to focus on him more.
  20. Also, I must say I'm really shocked how many minutes down the stretch Antić got. He has not adjusted to the NBA yet, to be playing in a competitive game. Why wasn't Brand in? He looked strong vs. ORL Monday night.
  21. Why didn't he get any minutes last night?
  22. The reason we lost this game, along with DAL, LAL, and DEN is because of poor perimeter defense. Carrol is solid, however he shoudln't be playing 20+ minutes a game. Once Lou returns our defense will be worse. The Hawks need to either look for a SF that can play defense, or look for a big man and make Milsap their 6th man.
  23. Small sample size from Milsap. So far more pro's than negatives. However, he lacks that explosiveness. I miss the ability to pass to Josh in the post and him dunk the ball home. Milsap is a more efficient play though. Which is exactly what the Hawks are looking for, high BBIQ, not necessarily the best athletes.
  24. He's young and he should learn his lesson early. Even though he is playing for the Hawks he is going to be widely watched this season. He's an exciting player.
