There are a few variables to consider.If the Hawks sign a scoring PG then I would go with Asik who is the better defensive player and rebounder. If the Hawks sign a PG that dishes the ball then Niko is the better fit. Either one and I'm happy. Would be a pretty fun three with Milsap, Horford, and Asik (or) Niko. All hard nosed players with High BBIQ.

Somebody enlighten me, what are the Hawks missing out on by not signing Dwight? Stats go a long way I professional sports, character and humility to even farther. Dwight has neither. He is a immature basketball player. The Hawks are rebuilding a brand. Why would they invest in low character athletes just because they post good stats. When your building a franchise you need someone who is trustworthy and professional. Dwight is neither. You need 150 preventers. 100 % the right fit. 50% skills. The other 50% are attainable from good coaching and good work ethic.

There was never a real chance the Hawks would get either player. Neither one of them has expressed interest in joining Atlanta. Clearly CP3 wanted to stay in LA since he was a major influence in trading for Rivers. Plain and simple.

Hate to say this, but I told you so. This trade just confirms how corrupt the NBA is. One summer was the drama of the Big Three. The following year a superstar like Dwight says he wants to be a Laker, he gets a trade to his destination of choice. This year your already seeing it. Paul wanted Del Negro gone and Rivers in. A few weeks later Rivers is the coach. It's crazy how these things can occur in a professional sports organization. These types of deal would be tough in most other leagues. The NBA wants to Clippers to grow. They did not want to see the Hawks sign CP3 and Dwight. Our best chance now is at a washed up Al Jefferson.

I stopped reading after you offered Tony Allen $8mm. Fans thought JJ was overpaid. Tony Allen is a below $5mm player. He excels on defense. However on offense its like running a 4 on 5 system. He misses close shots and is useless around the perimeter.

You do realize Lou will be our starting SG or Sixth man next year. Both positions are extremely valuable and he is being paid below market price considering what free agents sign for this era. Jenkins is not ready to assume the role as our sixth man or starting SG next year. Lou is one of the purest shooters in the NBA off the pick/screen. Why would the Hawks deal him for draft picks when they have four?
