He's a great role player and fills a hole for this team. Don't trade away the pieces try to build around what we have. All we need is a #1 at SG or SF. Smoove was not guarding Carmello most of the game. In fact, Smith shut carmelo down a few times down the strech. Plus Carmelo is one of the best players in the league...tough to shut down.

In regards to the Lopez - Smith trade do you have any source? Thought that was just pure speculation. They are comparable players. Acquiring Lopez would allow Horford to move over to PF. We would have a true center. If Smith wants to be maxed out then they need to trade him. He is not worth that much money. I have been a Josh Smith advocate for years and will continue to support him. No player matches what he can do offensively-and-defensively.

To blame josh for that 3 is hard. He had no choice but to shoot the ball with limited time on the clock. If he passed the ball out them some of you would be blaming him for passing up the shot. The fact is that was a bad play call by the coach on the final play. The over the back was Josh's fault. So what. He made a brilliant dunk on the prior play. The illegal screen was a terrible call. As others have said if that had beena anyone but the hawks that would not have been a foul. KG makes that play all day long. The foul on Carmello was not justified. That was a call the nba refs like to make to add excitement to the game. Overall he played well. This team will never draw a star like Dwight or cp3 because this city does support their sports teams. Completely agree with the OP. I had said that before anyways. JJ is a talented player, however he lost a step the past few years. Additionally, he was not a superstar and was being paid superstar type money. He would have done very well complementing a player like Lebron or Kobe, however the Hawks envisioned JJ as their Lebon/Kobe. He would have never lived up to those expectations. It was necessarily his fault, it was because of his contract.

Pathetic. Been to about 5-10 games this year. Any time I don't have work and the Hawks are in town I'm there. Philips is a great arena and this is a fun uptempo team to watch.
