  1. We get so excited over name players. Would he be a good addition, yes Is he an upgrade over Holiday? Marginally Is he worth Holiday plus assets- No Do we have real minutes for him? Not really
  2. We are a young roster, yes. But we also don’t own all of our picks anymore. It would behoove us to keep our young players and let them develop in lieu of trading them for expiring vets.
  3. Suns are a mess of an organization, they make the Atlanta Spirit look like stable management smh lol
  4. Salaries matched better. 1 for 1 8.9 to 9.2 Instead of combining multiple assets to get 1 guy to do the same job.
  5. Crowder would have made more sense if we hadn’t trader Harkless. That was a closer salary match. Now, we are talking about potentially trading 2 rotation guys for an expiring player. Idk if it makes sense. Im not trying to lose JJ or AJ in a deal for Crowder.
  6. Kev can say what he wants about chemistry/ball dominance, etc... Hawks have been more successful with Trae than the Kings have with Fox. He didn't magically end up in a better situation no matter what he has to tell himself to sleep at night. I think being in a new situation is eye-opening for him, and he is also entering his 5th year so he isnt some young prospect that has no clue how to play NBA basketball anymore. He is a vet now, and he went somewhere where they need and value his skillset. Everything he learned in Atlanta is going to help him succeed in Sac-Town. But no, playing alongside Trae wasn't the problem. Playing on a rebuilding team learning to win was the problem. And then having to compete for minutes against Bogi/Cam/Dre/ Wright, etc... was another problem. Dealing with a pandemic and heavy injuries/missed games was a larger contributing factor to chemistry issues than sharing the court with a ball dominant player. Just my two cents
  7. Just wanted to bump this after Abu Dhabi
  8. Our bench is talented. A Holiday is the biggest surprise for me. He is a solid ball handling option with shooting and passing ability. He also isn’t afraid to attack downhill. This adds a dimension to our bench that I wasn’t expecting. Add in Bogi and you have solid playmaking with or without staggering Trae and Murray. J Holiday is smart and plays the right way. OO is primed to take a leap, and then you have the wildcard of JJ who will thrive the most if we stagger Trae/Murray because he becomes a lethal pick and roll option next to them. I think he would suffer the most from us playing all bench lineups. Reserve wise, Griffin may challenge for J Holiday’s spot, or even fill in while Bogi is out. Martin and Vit are ready to contribute as needed too. We have a good bench. Kaminsky as your 3rd string big may be the biggest worry we have.
  9. Im higher on Martin right now than I am Culver, but the other 2 guys yes, I totally agree. AJ has some serious game and potential. His body is already an advantage compared to a guy like Kev who still hasn’t filled out. He has an NBA ready skill with his shooting (I previously predicted that it would translate). If Bogi/Dre/J Holiday take him under their wing I can see him being a solid fill in this season and establishing a full-time role by next season. He is starting to remind me of JR Smith with his shooting and athleticism as well as the ability to put it on the floor when needed. Vitt- I’m really excited about his potential. His feel for the game is natural, Bogi-esque. I want to see more of him but hopefully only because of blowouts and not injuries. I like him as a utility guy that you can plug multiple spots with and figure it out. AJ, Vitt, Martin, Culver are all super talented young prospects that are on our 3rd string. We have some serious quality of depth on the roster.
  10. I forgot all about the Bogi-man. My goodness adding him and his shot making to what we are seeing now is going to be something special. I wonder if his knees will be able to hold up with our new tempo. That second unit is going to be much better than advertised with the way the Holidaze are looking so far. Add in Bogi and JJ to this and it’s something nasty to think about. Im hoping for better injury luck this year, but I also feel really confident about our depth.
  11. Y’all, I had a weird dream last night (nightmare?) where out of the blue we traded Murray straight up for DeRozen before the season even started. I was saddened because DeRozen may technically be an upgrade, but I’m already so in love with Murray and his fit on and off the court. Just a dream but still, felt pretty real and par for the course for Atlanta sports.
  12. Im greedy, I want at least 50pts and 16 ast combined. The 10 rebs are ok.
  13. Here we go again. The one guy who needed to show he was ready to be in the regular rotation will miss over a week, and 2 full games. Already missed Summer League. Lots of missed opportunities for him this offseason.
  14. I tell people all the time that Harry is a different kind of mascot. I truly do enjoy watching him and his antics.
  15. Unless they are planning to hold out, I don't see any real incentive for older, role-playing vets to be vocal about getting extensions. In Bojan's case, you were basically trade fodder. Detroit has a stable of young studs that they have to pay eventually. You're better off playing out the final year of your contract and just ring chasing to finish your career. Apparently, demanding an extension is only lowering your value. Best to just lay low and ball out in whatever role you are given to prove to other teams you still have value
  16. When I tell you, we are going look night and day different on the court next season, we have never seen Trae play with another playmaker as good as Murray before. And the last time we had two guards remotely close was Teague/Schröder, and they almost never got to share the court with each other. You would have to go back to the Iso-Joe/ J Crawford days to find a backcourt that is even remotely close to the talent of Trae and Murray. And they weren't even in the same zip code as passers. We are in for a real treat this season!
  17. I think it’s interesting that Clint went light with his prediction and JC was already thinking about the parade celebration lol Kudos to Trae and Murray for setting the tone, and pat on the back for Dre for keeping it simple and to the point.
  18. Yoooo this kid is wild for this. That’s one expensive headache to deal with
  19. Did anyone else catch during his presser when he referred to the deformed finger as a "disease" ? I thought it was interesting especially because the boutonniere injury was supposed to heal back to normal. So maybe he got the injury infected or something and that caused the permanent damage we see now. There are a ton of retired football and basketball players with jacked up extremities so JC isn't alone. It just seems like such an old school thing as most of these new cats would rather sit out than play injured, risking further damage, which is apparently what happened with JC. I am glad that he feels good and says it wont effect his basketball ability, despite looking like holy hell.
  20. Got dammit I needed you back then! I feel vindicated reading this though, thank you.
  21. This subject is close to home. I got a write up once because a female coworker who was also a close friend and I fell out pretty bad outside of work but still had to be in the same office. My write up said that she repeatedly asked me not to contact her outside of work matters and I continued to do so. Which was not true. And I had actual proof of the opposite from her own words. They didn’t care. When I got my write up they literally said, “We don’t need to see your proof, this is how she feels and this is how we are going to handle it.” I was like, wow, so the truth doesn’t matter. We just go by feelings now? At least I kept my job, but I felt like I had no rights in that situation to even defend myself against a bogus accusation. Both of my bosses would apologize later once it became apparent she just had a bad day and got some bad advice to do that to me. But there was no repercussion for her actions. They took her word without a second thought. Because “they see it all the time”. And I’m literally telling them, this is not what you think it is. I could only imagine if it was something more serious and widely publicized.
  22. I think it’s all accurate. Our starting backcourt will be Trae and Murray, our end of game backcourt will be Trae and Murray. So they WILL have plenty of minutes next to each other where they alternate playing off the ball. Meanwhile, they are also going to be staggered in the middle of games and both will have the ball in their hands to run the same sets they have always had success with. Idk if anyone believed Murray was Kev’s replacement more than he is a straight up upgrade over Kev, as he allows us to do way more offensively and defensively. They don’t compare other than playing in the backcourt next to Trae. Murray is most like if we found a supercharged version of Delon Wright and made him a starter. Dre bringing the ball up also makes sense. For the times in the game where Trae and Murray are staggered, defenses can go back to loading up on the ball carrier. Having Dre as an option is smart, otherwise we run in to same issues we had before and look inept. Also makes sense considering Bogi may miss some time to start the season as he is our other capable ball handler. I think the biggest takeaway is that if I’m Aaron Holiday, it seems like they’re giving everyone else a chance to have the ball in their hands and not the guy who on paper is the backup PG.
  23. Considering AJ missed SL, Tyrese technically has more NBA minutes/experience. Plus he is 4 years older and likely has more initial polish to him out of the gate compared to AJ who has a higher ceiling but may be raw in comparison.
