  1. Agree. I don’t care what his listed size is, dude looks and plays like he is 6’10. His bulk, length and athleticism makes him appear imposing next to most frontcourt players
  2. Scoring is fine. Giving up 39 points in a quarter is not. Lebron dribbling from halfcourt to the paint with no resistance. Defense needs to step up
  3. Nate, do you see how Carlisle calls TO’s before we get any real momentum? That’s how you protect a lead.
  4. Our ceiling is the 6th seed unless something changes. Boston is in its own class. MIL and BKN have the talent and experience to coast and still be top 4 teams. Philly and Cleveland have something going and seem to have figured it out. We realistically should have been in the mix with Philly and Cleveland this season. But instead are hanging around with the Knicks and Pacers. Not to mention the Heat who have dominated our division for years and are just sitting right there a half a game back. They could flip a switch at any moment and jump up in the standings.
  5. There are 2 key things we are struggling to do consistently which are the hallmark of really good teams: Starting games fast, and finishing games down the stretch. We can point to a number of reasons for our struggles but overall if we cannot improve these two things we simply wont be a serious threat in the East.
  6. Not saying I would do this trade but theoretically wouldn’t this work: JC 25mil + Clint 18 mil for Ayton 33mil + Crowder 10mil Does this make us any better in the end?
  7. Health and chemistry. Better defense aka preventing 30pt quarters. I think we have enough juice when healthy. Bogi is showing he can give us an explosive tertiary scorer who doesn’t need pure iso to go off. Front court rotation is excelling defensively. Would love for a low post/foul drawing threat to emerge to generate cheap, easy offense when jump shots fail.
  8. Playing down to a bad team. And just when you think we are finally healthy Glass man strikes again. Geez
  9. Because they’re not actively trying to move him. People call, we set the price. We aren’t the ones shopping him. He would have been long gone for picks and cash if we wanted to move him.
  10. Meanwhile Knicks have quietly won 8 in a row, and are currently keeping our seat warm at #6 in the East.
  11. We are now 8-4 in games he gets 10 or more shots and 5-6 in games he doesn't, 3-5 in games he misses altogether.
  12. I think the real part of his statement people are missing is when Kev said, we have a lot of guards, a lot of mouths to feed and only one ball. AJG would be buried down in College Park if Kev was still around, getting the JJ redshirt season treatment. We had talked about moving a core piece for two seasons, and made a calculated risk assessment between Kev and Bogi. Kev being the younger, more durable player. Bogi having both the higher floor and ceiling when he is healthy. Bogi has had longer stretches of better play than Kev. Kev was really good some nights and completely silent others. They decided to roll the dice on Bogi and wait for him to rehab. It’s true, we didn’t have to make any trade at all. But let’s not act like this place wasn’t determined to shop every single player not named Trae over the summer. Our 21-22 season was such a disappointment that we were all begging for a shake up, and the FO followed suit. Kev is getting a great opportunity in Sac-town. He would have been the 4th wing if he was still in Atlanta. Do we miss his shooting? Yes. We definitely could have used him in a Hawks jersey. But we still have yet to see what the 22-23 Hawks look like with the main rotation healthy. I think we have to see that before any regret is warranted.
  13. I feel like this was more a product of us starting him at PF that game and not wanting to put 6'6 Bogi on their 6'10 PF McDaniels.
  14. Im torn between wanting us to stick to our strengths or forcing us to get out of our comfort zone so that we aren’t so easily defended in the postseason. We could PNR teams to death and win a ton of regular season games. The Harden Rockets were always at the top of the standings with a two dimensional offense, PNR and ISO Harden. We could do that here. It will serve us one day to have more versatility. The early returns do not look good though on whatever Nate is trying to run in lieu of the PNR.
  15. When we get more bodies back, Im cool with Bogi taking some load management games against lesser opponents. A healthy Bogi is a different animal.
  16. So JC. His 2 week mark from the date of the initial report would have been yesterday. Wednesday's game will be 3 full weeks since the game he injured himself. Does he make a comeback this week or not? DJ His injury is two weeks old on Wednesday as well, do they just let him rest until XMas ? Capela New Year's maybe?
  17. He’s got bad feet, I know the pain. That sore heel tendon after explosive running. Doesn’t stop me from moving when it’s warm, but the next day it’s super sore. It’s why I do the elliptical only now. Prevents any strain on the lower limbs.
  18. 1st world problems but I am bummed about all of these injuries and what looks like a throwaway game. I was looking forward to tonight all day and am a little let down. We will see what happens, maybe we put up a fight.
  19. Totally drew it up and ran that huddle at the end.
  20. I just wanted to pop in and say that it does appear we are due for another one of our patented losing spells where we dig ourselves in a hole that we spend the remainder of the season climbing out of. Hopefully things don't get too toxic around here, but I have seen this story play out enough times in the Trae Young era to know what's about to go down. Somewhere in between the New Year and All Star Break is when we will try to turn thing back on. Praying for Hawks nation until then. See ya! #gohawks
  21. Warning, here is the clip for those who did not catch it. Hopefully he makes a full recovery

    Trae

That’s not true. I’d rather Trae show up and sit on the bench and put the attention back on Nate for not starting/playing him if he felt he was healthy and good to go. That’s an easy sell to both the media and front office. ”Coach was heated, we had some words, but at the end of the day I will always put the letters across my chest first and be there for my teammates. If that’s an issue for coach, I will let him speak on it himself. But this organization, our team, the opportunity to be in this league, it means everything to me. I will always be ready if I feel like there is something I can do to help us win. On the court or off. Nothing will ever stop me from being there for my brothers. I have nothing but respect for the game and for men in this locker room.” You say this, now Nate is the lone jackass on the island. PR 101. You control the narrative when you are present. You lose control to speculation when you’re not. Always get ahead of speculation, find a microphone, make a statement (this day in age, post a tweet). Force the other person’s hand. Coach made the first statement. Now it’s a thing. Now Trae has to explain himself instead of the other way around. Trae does have more power than Nate. He should have used it better.

    Trae

The only thing you get from (2) assholes is more There is no winner in Nate vs Trae. They are both wrong, but only one was on the sideline on gameday doing what he gets paid to do. Trae has to learn how to keep the main thing the main thing and stay out of his feelings. This is a man’s game as DJM once stated. No time to pout and go home with your ball cuz someone disrespected you. You show up and handle your business on the court and no one will ever question you. You leave the door wide open for haters when you don’t show up for your team. That doesn’t hurt coach’s feelings. That shows the 13 other guys in a Hawks jersey who you really care about, captain.
