  1. Kyrie is using the threat of KD wanting to leave as leverage to get what he wants from the Nets. KD is also in on it because he told the Nets he was okay with them shopping Kyrie, which is a subtle way of corroborating that he (KD) is no longer committed to seeing their partnership through. It's a bunch of posturing that will drag out way longer than the draft. As many have said, if there is a deal on the table, you don't put it on hold because of the idea of KD. That entire situation in Brooklyn is a soap opera that's only on it's second scene and won't be resolved tonight. Their agents are likely just using the draft as a pawn to scare the crap out of Brooklyn.
  2. He was at 3.5% during the NBA combine in 2018
  3. I'm preparing myself for something to happen that none of us have talked about yet. I am no longer getting excited by what's being discussed. Kudos to the insiders for being able to live double lives and give us half the story and engage in full dialogue while at the same time knowing the second half of the story that they can't speak on yet while also understanding that their sources only gave them half of their own story, and finding the time to keep us all informed based on all of it.
  4. Bruh I am so lost on all of this. It's too much to keep up with lol smh
  5. Injuries are not predictable. We can trade away all our assets for a couple of big time players and have zero depth if one of them get injured. We have been able to weather the storm of injuries by having so many good not great pieces. It's risky either way you slice it. You can't control those things
  6. As emotions and excitement calm down it seems like folks are almost headed back on the trade JC for a pick + scrub bandwagon lol Price matters. I love JC and don’t want to move him just because. But if we are going to move him, it needs to be to bring in a big time player that helps us win on the court. Murray is exactly the type of player you want on your roster. All-star, All-NBA defense, playmaker, and at a position of need for us. That’s enormous value. That’s showing your star player that you hear him and are not afraid to make moves to help him win. I think that there are other moves to be made in tandem with this and that’s why we have to be cautious about what we are sending out for one player. Otherwise, sign me up and keep it pushing.
  7. 100% agree And to be honest, if we get Ayton it allows the flexibility of OO to play PF defensively while still being the C on offense as Ayton can step out to 3pt range as he hit 37% on low volume last season. Jalen would have an a ton of opportunity as the 3rd big in the rotation. All depends on what other moves we plan to make.
  8. Figured something like that. Murray seems a bit edgy for the Spurs. Plus, they been doing a lot of losing the past few years. If I’m a young rising star/ 1st time All-Star, I’d want to taste playoff success too.
  9. What I am most excited about No more of that soft crap
  10. My status on this whole thing: I have always been an advocate of moving pieces to bring in proven top talent. I hope we don’t get totally hosed, but I am much more comfortable with a trade centered on JC and Murray than I ever was on trading JC for a pick + scrub vet. I think Trae + Murray + Dre is a potent 1,2,3 punch on the perimeter. Our shot creation, dribble penetration, and getting to the FT line would increase tremendously. It take a huge defensive load off of the bigs as well as there is only one player you have to worry about helping on. It will be interesting how we fill out the rest of the lineup if this goes through I still like bringing back Wright as well who is Murray-esque on defense but without the attacking mentality on offense. Nearly identical tools though. We would need to keep or add at least one pure shooter for situational lineups. I’d prefer a 2-way center as well but Im fine with holding on to CC as well if it makes sense. Let’s wait and see but I tell ya this, Murray wont be coming alone from SAS if they are set on a major haul.
  11. Thanks, and that’s kind of my point. There are rules for a reason. SAS have to add more to the pot if they are going to try and fleece us. The trade will be much more balanced salary wise than whats being reported. We are getting a pick and a player or 2 back in this deal too.
  12. Okay, now that all the excitement has calmed down, can we talk actual numbers? Murray is making $16.57 mil next year JC is making $23.5 next season. Spurs can ask for a haul all they want to but they have to give us more back than just Murray. If the rumors are true and its JC+ multiple picks + another young player, let’s just say that brings our value to 30+ mil outgoing So, what on Earth is SAS going to be sending back with Murray to make this trade work? Am I off base, cap people? I don’t do numbers for a reason
  13. Im just keeping it real. I have defended this rebuild since day one. So far, Schlenk has only proven than he can clear books with the best of them. Since we started spending money, he has been as average as every other GM we have had. We have been waiting for the big move that brought us a star via trade or free agency, and all we keep hearing is that the #4 pick is going to come in and be our savior. It’s as if we didn’t already draft enough wings that didn’t work out. But we are to believe this time is not only going to be different, but it’s worth losing our team captain in the process. Yeah, color me unimpressed right now.
  14. Hopefully JC has noticed how hard I have pushed back against his opps. I’m not a blind homer, I just respect the heck out of certain players and understand their value even when it’s away from the court. Those ain’t the ones you get rid of just to be cheap, I mean, acquire draft picks.
  15. Ya know, Cam Reddish is exactly the type of wing prospect we need next to Trae. Long, can defend, handles the rock, can shoot…. someone like him would be perfect. Sucks it costs so much to trade up for a guy like that in this draft. I sure wish we had the lottery luck to select a talented wing with star potential in the top 10 to run next to Trae. Maybe one day we will be so fortunate. Maybe it will only cost us a starting caliber veteran. That’s the price of doing business when you want to find talent. No use developing your own players unless you plan to trade them for more draft picks. That’s always been my motto.
  16. Remember how we all scoffed at the notion of trading away Cam for Kevin Knox? Y'all better get off your high-horse and prepare for some BS. Anything can happen, even if our own sources dispute it. Just saying.
  17. Wrong, some of us do recognize his rare skillset and mobility. So much so that we realize he can cover the same amount of ground as a “longer” slower player at center. I pointed out that OO is a unicorn at center. He is unique. His movement allows him to stay in front of an elite flop artist like Embiid, as well as absorb the head down bull rush of Giannis. Your own boy Gobert wouldn’t be able to nothing with OO, because despite the size difference, OO’s ability to cover ground would neutralize Gobert’s elite screen setting. We agree that OO’s ability is rare for a center, which makes him special. You put him at PF and that movement becomes increasingly more average against these small ball 4’s. Honestly. I don’t care what you want to call OO defensively because at the end of the day, he will guard whoever the best big is on the other team. That’s going to be his role. But on offense, his butt aint playing outside of 15 feet until proven otherwise.
  18. The day I see OO actually attempt a faceup jumper in a live game is the day I start considering him playing some 4. Until then, he is a rim running, back to the basket, baby hook having Center. He holds his own exceptionally against the best centers. There is nothing that says he can’t play the 5. The only questions he has apply to moving him to the 4. He is going in to year 3 now and people are wanting to try him out at PF, like he is some project. He is a unicorn at the 5. Some posters want to move him and make him average. And it only has to do with his height. Because if he was taller nobody would be making this argument about playing the 4.
  19. Free up Gallo's money. Nobody disagrees with that. Jettisoning JC for cap relief is where we all differ. I am only ok with losing JC if it means bringing back a major piece. That is not a rookie/draft pick in my opinion. You can offload Bogi's contract for cap relief and I would not bat an eye. JC is different as different story though. I need something in return other than cap room. Thats cheapskate management.
  20. Came across this and really enjoyed listening to Grant Hill. One of the best episodes if you ask me. Technically it’s Hawks related because he is a part owner and was finally caught on film rocking Hawks gear in a public appearance other than at a home game. But, otherwise, it’s just a really dope interview featuring one of the games legends. Enjoy
  21. JJ is most natural as a post big, especially on defense. Because that’s all he has ever been asked to play, at every level. He has virtually no game reps as a 3, even though he has the skills to get by at that position. Supes is right that he was never asked to guard on the perimeter. Of every facet of his game that might be his weakest. Similar to JC when asked to defend in space, he has the athleticism, but he is uncomfortable and will never go over on a screen. Always under. JJ has the verticality and just enough size and strength that he can bump down defensively to the 5. He has always been forced to defend the paint growing up as a 6-8+ guy with crazy hops to swat shots. If you are only what you can defend then yes, he is a F/C right now. But offensively, he is a 3/4 combo forward who is comfortable handling the rock. He will settle in as a PF that may or may not be allowed to play-make for us. I do not see him at the 5 as long as we are committed to OO + whatever center we decide to trade for. There are just way more minutes for him at PF and backup SF right now.
