  1. This could have/ would have been our problem, and it would have cost us an arm and a leg just to deal with this BS.
  2. Our defense has been pretty solid. Miami’s offense consists of hero ball from Butler or Herro, up-fakes and cheap fouls from Butler and Bam, and open three’s from their role players. All we have to do is play with more discipline on defense, as in, stay down on the up fakes, stay home on the shooters, and live with Butler and Herro trying to score tough shots one on one. The small lineup works because we can switch on every ball screen instead playing in trail position and having to help off of a shooter.
  3. The corner 3 is open because Trae is sucking drawing multiple defenders. They wont leave him open anywhere on the court just to double team anyone else in our lineup. They’d live with 1 on 1 matchups on anyone not named Trae until proven otherwise.
  4. Trae has already proven himself over and over again. Playoffs, tough environments, high pressure, you name it. He has proven he can handle it. Yall some fairweathers if you are using this series to turn on him after what he has done up until now. The same Heat who y’all are jock riding got absolutely destroyed by the Bucks last year in rd 1. Success is not linear, it is up and down. Right now we are dealing with adversity. We been dealing with it all season long. Nothing is ever exactly how it looks. Relax .
  5. Get a good shot…. Nate draw up something
  6. Heat have a bunch of tough minded vets that know how to play on the edge in high stakes games, and they are leaning in to it. They are using their experience to get away with playing on the line and their younger guys are feeding in to it. We are missing that element with Clint out, no Solo in the locker room, and Lou injured. Delon is the only cat we have that can mix it up consistently and not get dinged with cheapies. Hunter and OO are still being picked on for their youth but they have the DNA in them. Hoping something wakes up inside somebody soon.
  7. Get physical. Period. Force the refs to calm things down. But WE have to be the instigators. If they punch, punch back, harder. An enforcer would be nice, but we don't have that. So just scrap with these clowns until it gets so ugly that the league has to clean it up. Make the Heat cry about us being too physical with them. Protect Trae. Do not let these clowns rough him up and go unanswered. Jimmy, PJ, and Kyle are banking on the fact that they can bully him and get away with it. Trae, it's time to go sicko mode on these fools
  8. Meanwhile Mobley got ALL hand on that chase down block on Dre and no whistle.
  9. I just replied in the game thread but yes I agree with this. JC will come off the bench as the primary rim roller similar to his pre-Capela days, and Gallo will the be the pop out shooting big, and same with Dre if we are going small. I think OO will get a lot of minutes if he can stay out of foul trouble, and he and JC could still play well on the court together, especially defensively. I just dont trust JC’s shooting right now, so it would be best if he can share the court with a floor spacer next to him up front.
  10. With his shooting hand injured and no Capela to share the floor with him, JC can focus on being the dominant roll player that he was before Clints arrival. Especially if he is sharing the floor with Gallo or Dre at PF. I would expect to see less outside shooting and more rim running from him today.
  11. I love these breakdowns. In real time it looks good, but upon further analysis its down right cold-blooded
  12. Yeah, appears he is out for a few games. We should shift focus to what we can do without him, and not worry about how fast he will return. He wont be able to save us unless this series goes long
  13. Covid times. The play-in was birthed in the bubble and kept on as an equalizer for teams that get disproportionately affected by Covid. That applies to us more than any team. We basically forfeited double digits of games by having to start G-Leaguer’s because the league wanted to play on. We finished 1 game behind Cleveland and BKN. You telling me we wouldn’t have at least won an additional 3 or 4 games had Trae and the starters not sat out while other teams got their games postponed? We were only 3 games back of 6th place and qualifying out-right. This tournament may suck for teams with multiple game leads over a lower seed; but for the season we had, to finish 9th by 1 game, it was justice earned on the court. Nothing was given to us. We took that spot. We proved that we belonged all along. The Cavs had 2 chances to win 1 game and couldn’t do it. I do not feel sorry for them at all. The right 8 teams have qualified in the East.
  14. Dont listen to the hype. Dog mentality until we secure the bag.
  15. Im more worried about not having Lou. Sometimes its good to have that wild card to put in when we need some cheap offense.
  16. Cleveland will be tough. They got some extra juice with Mobley’s return. And Garland has another gear and is a tough player to guard when he gets it going
  17. He is the heaviest guard in the league I bet. Right in front of Lance Stephenson
  18. Any player, good/bad, young/old, is going to look better when given the keys aka the ball, a featured role, the minutes, and the support to play through mistakes. But they are not going to consistently look like a superstar unless they truly are one. The issue with this take and Trae hate overall, is the same thing that also makes Trae so special. He is not supposed to be able to do the things that he does, especially considering his stature and lack of physical gifts. And because of this people look at him and say “If he can do it so can (fill in the blank)”. There is no acknowledgement of how unlikely and special it is to see Trae do the things he does, they just wait for his size to catch up to him so they can say, “see, I told you he was too small”. And in the mean time, they will prop up any guy that jumps higher or is bigger because they “look” the part
  19. Exactly, and Atlantans with disposable income would much rather pay a strippers rent than waste it on their team. Wait, whose side am I on again….lol.
  20. No offense to anyone that’s older, but that reputation of Atlanta fans is so outdated and belongs to baby boomers and maybe some Gen X Atlantans. But the Millennial Atlantans and younger have all grown up during the most successful time period of Atlanta sports across the board. They now have purchasing power and families, and are not as jaded as their parents generation was in regards to supporting the home team. The whole bad sports town reputation is obsolete. That’s flat out lazy journalism at this point to keep repeating it.
  21. Bucks pulled this same bull last year and it cost us the 4th seed. We cannot trust them to do anything. We should have handled our own business 9th seed, win or go home it looks like
  22. Nate has to be accountable. You cant preach defense and then constantly defer to weak defenders when it matters.
  23. Bogi is a liability on defense in close games. He seems to always come up on the wrong end of high stakes moments.
