that's why I thought about the possibility of sending Kirk's expiring to the Clips for Ryan gomes 4M contract, or some other deal along those lines. That would help fetching VC and create/mantain some room for the scrubs we'll have to sign to complete the roster.

I absolutely hated Jamal on most of the nights. No D, too much trying to be the man, too many dumb turnovers. But I gotta concede the man could score. I think hopefully Vince could be a somewhat controlled Jamal. I dunno. Can Vince's D (or lack thereof) be even worse than Jamal's? It was Drew's job to bench the guy on those horrible nights... Now that he's got a full season under his belt, maybe he's gonna grow some balls and do what has to be done.

Well Jamal is 31 (three years younger), and if the stats are correct, Vince is the most durable of the two. We have rolled the dice on Jamal and it paid off. I'm not advocating Vince over any current starter, but I believe he would be a nice addition to our bench at a fraction of Jamal's cost.

:/ I know stats aren't all, but he's got some good 2010-11 numbers. Of course he's not the same guy from 5 years ago, but I would def pay the man 3-4M per, or maybe even the full MLE (two-year contract). Let's be realistic, we won't get a really nice piece in free agency this season unless something major happens. Carter: 73 games, 63 starts, 28 MPG, 14.0 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 2.0 apg, 0.9 spg, 1.2 turnovers while shooting .437 from the field (.361 from three) Now let's take a look at Jamal: 76 games, no starts, 30 MPG, 14.2 ppg, 1.7 rpg, 3.2 apg, 0.8 spg, 1.9 turnovers while shooting .421 from the field (.341 from three) What's not to like? He's durable, he's somewhat efficient and he's a former star, he could be our 6th man and a leader off the bench. That's roughly the same production we got from Jamal (Carter's actually a bit more afficient) with less turnovers. Oh, and he is a Hawk-killer as well, we better have him on our side.

Hmmm. Vince. Yeah, why not, so long as he agrees to take a two-year, 4M per contract. And while we're at it, we could try and sign T-Mac and Iverson as well (one year, vet minimums). While I don't believe the ASG would use the amnesty clause right now (because of Joe's 5th and 6th years), we could try and trade Kirk expiring to a team like, say, the Clippers, for a Ryan Gomes-type. They'll have to offer Gordon a new contract, so I believe this trade would help them in the Dwight sweepstakes by trading a 4M non-expiring contract for an 8M expiring. Maybe they would take the Captain off of our hands and free us some cap space. Stop laughing, I'm serious! Kirk is down anyway. Those guys could immediately help our 6-guy team. Or maybe we could try to sign James Jones (3-pt especialist from the Heat), who got the minimum last year, instead of T-Mac. We could maybe offer him 2M, and try to take him away from Miami. These girls and the Hawks have so much in common... relying on jumpers when it's obvious they need to go inside... players who just won't show up when the team needs them the most... conceding easy layups on defense... not to mention all the blown leads. The Dream have shown they can win in Minny IF they would play the 4th like they played the other three quarters. Then again, they haven't made it, so I believe the chances are slim at best, but hey, guess what, it's not impossible! I've already seen stranger things happen... SO GO DREAM!

Too bad the girls had a 4th quarter meltdown :( I surely hope they'll fare better with Erika on the court. Izi reminds me of Jamal, for the good and for the bad. And Armintie Price, with her disappearing act, was the closest thing to Marvin in our women's squad. sancho looked really bad tonight, I hope she can rebound game 2. I like Alison "Pachulia" Bales out there. Angel had a hell of a game, but was let down by her team mates. GO DREAM!
