  1. Crawford and Bazmore to the Cavs for Love and Frye
  2. Teague for Oakafor and a future 1st
  3. I would look to move Marvin to the Bobcats. MJ likes to acquire is former Tarheels. Marvin makes $7.5 million, wish I got that for running around, so the trade would have to be comprable. Lets bring back Boris Diaw (another facilitor, 3 pt shooter, rebounder) and send Marvin and Jason Collins to the Bobcats Bibby Johnson Josh Smith Diaw Horford
  4. People will be suprised with Othello Hunter at Ohio State. He is a defensive star who is learning to play and get stronger. Late bloomer. He can rebound, defend, and block shots. High energy guy. No offense though.
  5. Quote: Well that is a very telling statement that he believes Al is a 5. That sounds great for the future of the team as long as he is successful keeping Josh Smith. I wonder who he might look at as a veteran shooter and 2 veteran bigs. He didn't give up any names but said he wants Veterans who will be leaders and who don't need to play for a lot of money but want to play for the love of the game. I am sure we can get some bangers and bruisers to do that but a good outside shooter I'm not so sure. They tend to be expensive.
  6. Rick sund on Fox sports radio tonight said the Hawks will not be trading into the draft and if he had the 15th pick he would trade. He doesn't want anymore 19-20 year old players. he's looking for cheap veteran players to fill out the 9, 10, 11 slots on the team. Said after re-signing the two Joshes, he wants a veteran shooter and two veteran front court players. Loves Al Horford and says he is the perfect 5 player who can play four. Isn't worried that Horford can't guard Yao or Howard by himself because no one can.
  7. Josh Duncan from Xavier would be a great late 2nd rd (if can make trade) or UDFA for the Hawks. He can swing from the 4 to a big 3. Like all Xavier players is smart and strong with good work ethic. Plus he can play point forward. He is offensive version or Chillz but he can also rebound. Having a bruiser like Duncan and high flyer like Chillz off the bench would help out the energy and get us a rebound when we need it.
  8. I can understand all of BK's draft picks and signings but one. Marvin over Chris Paul That should have gotten him fired two years after the pick.
  9. A friend in NC told me that L. Brown isn't enamored with Okafor. It seems Jordan likes UNC players. I know that Okafor is restricted but is it possible to do some sort of; Okafor for Marvin Williams/Filler SNT or straight trade (exp Claxton) Okafor gives us inside presence of rebounds and shot blocks. Starting 5 Bibby/Law J. Johnson J. Smith Al Horford Okafor Just a thought
  10. I live in S. Florida, grew up in Ohio, and am the only Hawks fan I know. I don't get to see the Hawks much and all I have to say about this team is WOW.... How Billy Knight has a job I don't know.... M Williams has no instincts about the game. Can you please take two dribbles and pull up.. I cry everytime I see Chris Paul. How Mike Woodson has a job I don't know.. Never seen a team of more athletic players get outrebounded, outhustled, outplayed, and outcoached on the defensive end of the ball. Ever heard of boxing out, jumping for the rebound, switching on defense, how about communication.. Sorry about the frustrations but only seen them twice this year and disgusted at the effort and coaching.
  11. Since Portland is stacked right now. Two trades but I don't know if they would work. Portland sends - L. Aldridge and J. Jack Atlanta sends - M. Williams or Portland sends - J. Magloire and J Jack Atlanta sends - M. Williams and exemption.
  12. C: Jackie Butler, KnicksIt's very, very hard for somebody on the Knicks to become underrated, but Butler certainly qualifies. Look at it this way: The Knicks decided to spend $56 million on Eddy Curry this summer, and gave up Michael Sweetney and what may be the No. 1 pick in the next two drafts in order to get him. Butler, meanwhile, signed for the league minimum. Now look at Butler's production and tell me how much better off they are with Curry. Butler is slightly smaller, but he rebounds at a better rate, blocks more shots, and is more than two years younger. No, he's not quite as much of a beast in the post, but he's big and he can score -- the 6-10 center averages 15.5 points per 40 minutes on 52.7 percent shooting, and based on how he dominated the CBA last season that doesn't seem the least bit fluky. So the Knicks had an answer at center sitting on their roster the whole time, but instead they had to make the Curry deal and then spent another $30 million to feed Jerome James -- and the net result has been to keep Butler on the bench when he really should be playing.
  13. Does anyone know if this guy is actually signed. I haven't found an article or an update on the hawks website about the transaction?
  14. Jason Conley and Arthur Johnson both played at Missouri. Jason COnley was a superstar at VMI if I am thinking of the same person. He was the leading scorer in the nation at VMI. He transfered and became an average Big 12 player. Arthur Johnson on the other hand is an undersized, hardworking, beast of a player. Think of him as a bigger version of Malik Rose.
  15. I'm in the 'Nati and saw Morris play quite a bit. Early on in the season he was lost. As his comfort level increased he became a beast. He was the reason Kentucky did awesome in the SEC tournament. He can jump for his size. Has a good body weight ratio. Has some improving post moves but he can really attack the rim when he wants. I emphasize when he wants to. Heard he has a lazy bad attitude. I don't know the kid though.
  16. Why not take a Flier on Jay Williams from Duke. I thought it would have been good to send them our last second round pick for the Rights to Jay Williams. Good size and can stroke. Heard his rehap has been progressing well. He still has that confidence and will to be great, not just servicable.
  17. I think he meant the GA Tech Bynum, you know Will.
  18. I have been reading numerous articles on Marvin Williams all day about his work ethic, team first attitude, and will to win. I think he could be a silent leader like Tim Duncan and help his team, specifically Josh Smith, turn into great players. I am all for Williams even though he doesn't fit a needed role. That's why Mr. Knight has cash to play with in Free Agency and trades.
  19. Now I didn't hear the team on Webster so it could have been the Lakers. The point was why Webster at 3, when no one as spoken about him there. If that is the case, 5 and 13 for Deron and Sean May would be nice or that Bynam kid at 13.
  20. Just heard while waiting in traffic. 1) Bucks-- Andrew Bogut 2) Hawks-- Marvin Williams 3) Blazers-- Martell Webster 4) Hornets-- Chris Paul 5) Bobcats-- Deron Williams I can't believe Webster so there must be something up with the Blazers who love high school kids and must draft one each year.
  21. Chad Ford's article on ESPN said that Milwaukee loved M. Williams and their GM saw him playing the 4 spot right now. Said he was suprised by how well M. Williams played with his back against the basket and how well refined his post up moves were. Also mentioned seeing him adding weight and growing. Seems that the GM see's Williams as a PF starting next year.
  22. I personally think that Marvin Williams is going to become a great PF. Draft him second if the Bucks don't and trade Al Harrington for a mid round or late lottery pick. Allows for one of the PG prospects. I just think that Marvin fits better as a PF and looks to be growing still. Al to me fits as a combo forward and is versatile but more suited for a sixth man who gets a lot of playing time. If you can't trade Al you have great depth at the 2, 3, and 4. Draft a PG in the second rd, resign Lue and go hard after Dalembert.
  23. The 4th pick and 25th pick look very attractive if Mr. Knight's main intention is to draft Deron Williams. It's not a given that the 2nd or 3rd pick would want Bogut. Knight could get his guy plus another first round pick. Package his early 2nd with the 25th and get in the top 15 or 20. I would like to see the Hawks draft Marvin Williams. He is young, wants to learn, his is quiet but he doesn't back down or lose his temper if you saw the MSU game when they tried to goad him into a technical. He is a beast on the glass as well. With the early second round pick, Maybe if his stock keeps dropping Knight could select John Gilchrist or trade up a few spots for him. And then go all out for Samuel Dalembert as a FA PG: Tyronne Lue, John GIlchrist SG: Josh childress, Boris Diaw, FA SF: Al Harrington, Josh Smith PF: Marvin Williams, Tom Googs C: Samuel Dalembert, PDrobs Reason I put Al at SF is that he said he is looking to lose weight and his frame is better suited to guard SF than PF. Plus Marvin can hit a 12 footer from the top of the key giving Al the chance to still play in the post. Like to Have J Smoove starting but it's always good to have depth.
  24. Smoove would get killed playing as a PF against Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett, Chris Webber, maybe not webber, but Ben Wallace. Those guys would kill him right now. It's not a given he will add 20 pounds and grow another two inches. He seems more comfortable on the wing than in the post.
  25. Why couldn't the Hawks have Childress come off the bench as a sixth man. I am not saying next year but after Green gets a year under his belt. But a rotation of J.Smith at the 3 and G. Green at the 2, with J. Childress backing up both positions and you could get a lot of minutes for all three players. Smith and Green could be the V. Carter and T. Mac combo with Childress being the Pippen mode. That would be a good rotation and building block to me. With the early second, you find a junior or senior power forward or PG and add a big body in Free Agency and draft for a PG the following year. 3 years from now this team would be ready to roll like the Suns.
