  1. If it were a S&T then most likely SAP which takes 9 mil off the books so that you could give Monroe 20 mil. Personally, I'd do a 1 yr 11 mil offer to see if they match or not. SAP can hit three's and he mesh's well with the team. I wouldn't do an S&T. How much of an upgrade is Monroe over Millsap? Millsap hits threes, passes better, a better defender but Monroe rebounds better, Has better post moves and its taller. If it were me, I'd not sign Thabo, and I would have offered Gasol a 30 mil 2 yr contract. I like Monroe tons better, but I'm not trying to break up a team that took the PACERS to Seven games. If our three's were on in game seven, we could have easily beaten them and eventually come up against the HEAT.
  2. Chris Bosh just turned down potential rings to return to Miami because he doesn't want to be around his family and baby mama drama in TX. Its not the fans, we LOVE stars like Michael Vick but cities like Miami and LA have better scenery and cities like NY, Chicago and TX get better TV coverage. Even when Miami was in the finals the fans still left early and now even the LA Lakers can't sell out a home game. Its not Atlanta, its LA, Chicago, Miami (not really anymore), NY, etc. Even Kevin Durant might leave OKC for Washington. Small markets or mid markets like ours have troubles getting "STARS". In Toronto, you'd think all of the stars would want to go there, its PACKED and the Toronto Raptors have NO STARS on their team.
  3. I prefer that we don't go over the cap. Deng is in decline and Gasol, while great, isn't worth 13 to 15 mil a yr. Especially since he's a Power Forward and we need a Center. So no dice. While Everyone else is losing their minds in FA, lets just wait for next year when Brook Lopez, Omer Asik, DeAndre Jordan, Kevin Love and tians like MARC GASOL and Lamarcus Aldridge are unrestricted and available. For SF I would LOVE Dorell Wright 6' 9" .364 3pt avg or Westley Matthews or both. Next year will be the year we can improve and have about 20 mil under the cap.
  4. Let's understand what this means. Last year Cleveland had Luol Deng at the SF and they barely did anything. I don't think Lebron can turn the franchise around. by himself. If they had Mark Jackson, it would be a different story though.
  5. There's an easy way to look at this. If you believe in Management, you'll see that we will find good FA pickups. That being said, we got Millsap for a VERY good price but next year he will turn 30 so if he goes, that will be fine. People wanting a Monroe Millsap Deal will be disappointed because the pistons don't need another PF. Just stay the course and wait for Free Agency in 2015 where TONS of players will be available. Our Cap space is going to look REALLY good next year. For 2015 we have Korver, Teague and Horford signed. We will have effectively 30 mil under the cap and we can use it to get one more BIG time player, we can really do well. Lamarcus Aldrige or Marc Gasol. Maybe we can get Paul Gasol this year.
  6. If you want a wing player, next yr will be 10x better with Rudy Gay, Wilson Chandler, Kawhi Leonard, H Barnes, G Green, D Wright, etc.
  7. Umm, Al Horford was hurt in December, LESS than two months into the season. So why would Millsap and Antić play with him???? Also, w/ Horford only playing two months, its kinda hard to have the most "Five man rotation" of the entire team. Also, Antić didn't crack the starting lineup until January 3rd. Horford was injured Dec 27th. Long story but if you see the Horford winner against the Wizards, you'll also see that lineup. It works.
  8. Really because last year we had Antić, Millsap and Horford on the court many many times at the SAME TIME and Millsap covered the SF with no issues.
  9. Look, want Greg Monroe but not at the expense of letting Millsap or Horford go. I'd rather move on instead. Teams are also looking for us to screw up the Mike Scott issue (he's a RFA and someone could pull a poison contract if we tie up lots of money with anyone else). I wouldn't Trade Horford or Millsap both of whom are just as good as Monroe but neither are good enough to play Center full time. That's the only difference. He can play Center and that's it. He's not done what Horford has and not what Millsap has either. Andre Drummond is a whole different story. He's 100% BEAST and THEN and ONLY THEN would I trade a piece like Horford or Millsap. I'd offer Monroe a hefty salary and if its matched, I'll just walk on to the next best thing. Detriot would be idiots to pay a max contract to him as they didn't even make the playoffs last year and now they would waste their cap on Monroe which is redundant with Josh Smith's position. If they do a sign and trade deal, they wont get much as the league would easily see that they would HAVE to unload Monroe. Meanwhile, we have armchair GM's trying to trade away significant pieces when its absolutely unnecessary.
  10. ty, we bid for Monroe and if we don't get him, we are still good to go. Why trade away a piece that forced the Pacers to Seven Games without Horford?
  11. Monroe is a RFA and he's not getting the max, why do we have to trade away Sap?
  12. We don't need Deng, we need a Center so Monroe. We already have Mike Scott, Carroll and Korver. We don't need a wing player, we need a Center for better rebounding, Defense and more Low Post scoring. Did I mention that Monroe is only 24?
  13. Monroe would provide us a LONG TERM solution. He JUST turned 24, it would be a S T E A L ! ! !. Millsap would be a SF/PF which he played anyways many times with Horford and Antić on the court.
  14. Paul Curry Parker Lillard Rondo Teague Westbrook Wall Conley Lowry Irving To me, Westbrook without Ibaka and KD wouldn't make the top 7, no doubt and without KD he would get the likes of Paul George guarding him. In the playoffs Lillard and Teague did 10X better than Lowry, which are the games that actually count. Further more, I wouldn't even count Deron Williams anymore. He performance against Chalmers was pathetic, honestly. Wall better than Teague? He wasn't even guarded by Paul George, Beal was and you rate Wall better than Teague? Are you kidding me? Irving isn't better than Teague, he's just on an inferior team.
  15. Greg Monroe for C and Antić as his backup. Move Millsap to the 3 and hope the Nogueira is ready for the NBA.
  16. no way you trade what looks to be an eventual starting PG for the 8th pick in a lousy draft. No way.
  17. Isn't Millsap a star? Isn't Horford a star? Other than that, name the teams that have a Kevin Durant and/or Lebron James. I guess there are 20 something other teams that can't sign "a superstar". If your talking about just a star, we have three ourselves Horford, Millsap and Teague.
  18. I believe Horford can hit the three point shot and Asik can hit mid range shot, move Millsap to the three and Korver to the two. Antić, Mike Scott, Lucas Nogueira can be rotating backups. Millsap at the three would be DEVASTATING, as he would be able to post up EASILY.
  19. No way the Pistons resign Monroe, Deng has openly stated he didn't like Cleveland. I'm not so sure about Asik but I know Monroe is on the way out.
  20. You people don't know basketball, Teague is pulling Paul George to the corner and allowing the rest of the team better shots. Teague might be our best player but Paul George is their best player and having George on Teague helps the rest of the team. That includes Millsap, Korver and Horford when he comes back.
  21. We COULD play Millsap at the three too. Honestly, I think the Pacers are going to dump Evan Turner next year and I think he would be a perfect two for us. Imagine this lineup, Teague, Turner, Millsap, Horford, Nogueira/Antić/Scott or Korver at the two or three with Turner being the backup. We could beat just about anyone. Then you could have Millsap posting or Horford or Teague penetrating. In this series, you couldn't have George guarding Teague. Wouldn't happen.
  22. The ticket prices are high this year so its stick to the nosebleed section or pay through the nose like 60-120 dollars per person and its on a Wednesday night too.
  23. The Atlanta Hawks pulled out of a final-hour trade that would have sent Josh Smith to the Bucks in exchange for three role players and a protected No. 1 pick, reports Ric Bucher. http://www.sbnation.com/nba/2013/2/21/4014574/josh-smith-nba-trade-deadline-hawks-bucks
  24. Wish we would have picked up Brook Lopez and let the D Howard deal take place for the Nets. Wish we would have gotten that draft pick from the Bucks for 2014 for Josh Smith. Instead of picking up Brand and Millsap, would rather tank this year and pick up others cap space issues with draft picks. That being said, I LOVE what we did with Joe Johnson, keeping Teague but its like Horford is an afterthought and would love to see him at the PF position. Oh yeah, it just seems like Ferry wanted to put his stamp on the team rather than doing what's best for the franchise. I'd like to know how we still don't have a Center after him being here for two offseasons. Why don't we have any all-around SF's? or an SG that's talller than 6'5"?
