  1. I really think we can win-out this road trip. As long as we stay consistent and LD uses our bench correctly.
  2. If I remember correctly, the word around the NBA was that Bynum was being shopped. Maybe it was a rumor that was going on, but do recall him being shopped. No one bit because of his knee.
  3. This question has been burning at my mind for the last couple games. As much as we like Horfords shooting ability and leadership, do you think its getting to that point? Something just feels weird about this season so far. I don't know what it is, but something crazy is about to happen.
  4. I really hope we do! He's still developing and continues to be a staple on this team. Rick Sund should look to sign him by the end of this season.
  5. When did I say he was the worst player in the league?? I said that he may not be worth what we're giving him according to his contract but never have I said he was the worst in the league. Now put your thumb back in your mouth and continue rubbing your earlobe. What the hell is trolling? Zaza was probably fouled once or twice but, you have to show the refs that you're going up aggressively for them to give you that call. C'mon, thats basic fundamentals of basketball. Its just like the problem Joe's had all of his career. Its hard for refs to call fouls under the basket for him because of his style of play. Atleast go up strong and act like you're being fouled. I'm pretty sure you see how Lebron, Wade, Jamal Crawford, and Kevin Martin act when they're fouled. They go up hard, yell, scream, and flail their bodies when they encounter contact. Refs are refs and they go by the same creed, "go up strong and I'll give you that call."
  6. Yes! He makes the game harder for himself. Why does he pump fake when he's under the basket wide open? He coulda had a double-double yesterday if he would of been more aggressive going to the basket. The refs didn't miss calls, those were clean blocks. Looked sad to see him playing with such a lack of developmental skills. Smh
  7. Joe's a freaking beast! Do you guys notice the lane spacing out there? Kind of crazy how there's lanes to the basket now that Horfords out. I like Horford a lot but, I'm liking the spacing that teams are giving us. It's very interesting to watch at times. Even when Joe gets one-on-one plays. He's getting them a lot.
  8. First, this isn't my topic. Secondly, I provided the list for the person whom said Zaza was in the top 20 centers in the NBA.
  9. Oh gosh, we have more statistical analysis again! LOL! I provided the list earlier so who on that list wouldn't be better than Zaza?? You can talk me to death with Per 36 statistics, which doesn't mean much in the real world. Those same statistics gave Marvin and Bibby those horrible contracts. Get real!
  10. Why in the world does LD start Marvin over Radmonavich? I mean, does he not see what we see? He has to be the softest finisher in the NBA. I've been waiting on a repeat of the infamous dunk over Steve Nash for the past couple seasons now. I think he's more focused on getting his college degree. It not like he's not making millions and really needs it. It just blows my mind sometimes... Smh
  11. Now that's an honest assessment! Yes he hustles and grabs 10 boards one game but then he screws up the next three. I think he should spend more time working on his offense. We need him to finish at the bucket. I can't bare to see Twin start another game except for guarding Howard.
  12. Two wrongs don't make a right. So since a gm made a dumb move by offering Kwame Brown $7mill for year we should believe that he's worth it and Zaza's worth that much? Nooo!!! You get out of here! I wouldn't give him that contract NBA2K12. What does being a guard have to do with it? Now ask yourself this, is Zaza in the top 20 in his position? Of this list of players, who's Zaza better than? Dwight Howard Andrew Bynum Marc Gasol Javale McGee Roy Hibbert Greg Monroe Tyson Chandler Al Jefferson Spencer Hawes Marcin Gortat Marcus Camby Joakim Noah Emeka Okafor Deandre Jordan Chris Kaman Samuel Dalembert Tim Duncan Channing Frye Derrick Favors Brendan Haywood Kendrick Perkins Jordan Hill Robin Lopez Joel Anthony Omer Asik Byron Mullens Darko Milicic Timofey Mozgov Jason Thompson Chris Andersen Jason Maxiell Ben Wallace Nazr Muhammad Tiago Splitter Let me go ahead and grab a snicker bar... Take your time
  13. For the money we pay him ($4.5M), Zaza's garbage! Thats the cold-hearted truth. He's went a longtime without having a strong evaluation on his game. I haven't notice anything in his game that he's honestly worked on since being with the Hawks. He can't shoot to save his life. He dribbles like an infant with a dirty pamper. And he has the worst coordination I've seen since those planes went missing in the Bermuda Triangle. STOP GIVING THIS SCRUB A PASS MAN!!!!
  14. People fail to realize how fragile there bench really is this year. They don't have any consistent players that will come in and put up needed points. Norris Cole shoots a really inconsistent game and he's the only threat they have on there bench. As I will keep saying, we have a better team than the Heat and I will continue to stand by my statement. Go Hawks!!
  15. And that's all I'm saying Diesel. Why would you use the player that's keeping this team afloat? Sounds like someone has a vendetta..
  16. Oh man here we go again! This thread makes no basketball sense at all. It's only purpose is to drum more senseless negativity between players on this team. How about comparing him to Mr Soft Horford whom barely bangs down low? But hey, its your opinion Diesel.
  17. You can always count on Sekou to get it right whenever he writes for an article on the Hawks. I wish he would go back to regularly covering the Hawks instead of Cunningham. I think Jeff Schultz should no longer be allowed to write on the Hawks. He knows of nothing he's talking about, and he creates a negative following for our fans.
  18. Thanks Dolfan! Hopefully we will continue to play tough and aggressive ball for the rest of the season. I think LD should trust his bench not panic. We will gel into a team similar to Denver and continue to share the ball. I envision a couple of our bench players earning extensions this season. :)
  19. I feel that Joe will become more assertive with Horford out. It sounds crazy but it allows Joe and Josh the luxury to attack more and not have to worry about running plays for Al. I think Horfords finesse style of play doesn't fit into the actual identity of this team. Now we can become more aggressive down-low and apply pressure to opposing big men.
  20. I'm sure all of us are disappointed in the news we recieved from Al Horford's season-ending injury today. Most of us threw our remote controls and triple-clicked our mouses in frustration and anger. We Atlanta sports fans have had a terrible history with key player injuries on all of our teams. I remember when Jamal Anderson tore both of his knees and the Falcons season went out the door. When John Smoltz screwed his arm up during a promising season and left our bullpen in disarray. The unforgettable game versus the Ravens when Mike Vick broke his leg on a scramble play. And Chipper Jones' jump throw to first base that left crumbling to the ground with pain. Hell, this past Braves season where we had an injury depleted bullpen and lineup. And the ever so memory of Kirk Hinrichs fall to the hardwood after making a big drive down the paint. Yes, we've had it rough these past 10 years. I can't remember a city thats comparable to ours when it comes to key injuries at the wrong time for our sports teams. Maybe we're cursed.. *shrug* But one thing I know, is our Hawks came out and responded tonight with a full effort across the board. Maybe we just played a subpar team with a terrible record and a group of young players. Hey, a win is a win in my book. And this was the exact response I was looking for to build confidence in our bench. Our leaders stepped up big! Smoove dropped 30pts 13rebs 3ast and going 14-22(63.6%) from the field. Joe grinded out a big contribution of 23pts 8ast 7rebs. We needed this from our star player. Teague facilitated and set the tempo early with 16pts 7ast 6rebs. He's starting to grow into his own. Zaza supplied a tough 10pts 10reb performance. Ivan "The Terrible" showed his value and savvy hustle with 12pts 7reb. And Willie Green rounded out the bench with a quiet 11pts. If we can get this production from our captains and our bench players on a consistent basis we will make our run into the playoffs. Not to mention, when TMac, Marvin, and Captain Kirk finally rejoin the team we will be even more dangerous. I also noticed that we had more spacing out on the wings and the elbow. It made a big difference for our bigs because it allowed us to work the blocks and kick to the open shooter without clogging the lanes. We had 52 points in the paint tonight!! Thats a great balance and it shows that our bigs are being active on the blocks. I'm also liking the 24 points we got off of fast breaks ~~~~~~~>> TEAGUE IS SHOWING HIS ABILITIES TO SPEED UP OUR TEMPO!! Hopefully, we fans can continue to support our home team and put faith in our bench and captains. I like Horford and will miss him but like I said, "ONE PLAYER DOESN'T MAKE OR BREAK THIS HAWKS TEAM!" Go Hawks!!!
  21. Okay.. Obviously you don't understand why people join message boards. And I guess its not share their opinions...? Whatever.. And why do you guys keep bringing up Crawford? I enjoyed him while he was here but I got over him after the first game the season. However, Rick Sund did give Lewis a 7 year $60M contract that also came with a possibility of $15M in incentives. Which put him at about $75M over 7 years. Now if that's not a big gamble on Sunds part to give a 2nd Rd pick that averaged around 8ppg 4reb. But hey, he gave Booth $34M! That's okay because he was a CENTER IN THIS LEAGUE!! LOL! I'm not buying that at all. Seems like a pattern to me but maybe I'm being too critical I guess. *shrug
  22. I'm referencing his blunders in Seattle to the same exact blunders he's made in Atlanta. I have nothing against Sund, but I do question some of the things that he's done. Of course Bibby needed to be shipped off! Even Bibby knew that. And when did I not give him credit for drafting Teague? Did criticize his draft choices? Yes!! I absolutely didn't understand his reach for Pape Sy when there were clearly better players on the board that were more developed than him. Simmer down my man. Geez! I guess I struck a cord or something lol. I won't mention your precious Sund or Pachulia again. Smh. Btw, he's still not worth the money we're giving him. No one in there right mind would pay that much for a 6.7ppg and 5.1reb bench player, except Sund.
  23. Hmmm... Obviously you lacked to understand what I was saying. So, lets look at this more clearly.. Joe's contract is among the biggest dinosaur of the room but for our franchise sake, I understand Sunds reason for resigning. Although, he should've avoided the ultimate max but, who knows.. If you think that Marvin's contract was worth it at the time, then you should go play Jenga in traffic (particularly on GA-400)! We're talking about $7,500,000 for the 2011-2012 season!!! Now, we can argue all day long about whether Rick Sund had a choice but I'm definitely seeing a pattern that projects to his tenure with the SuperSonics.. Does anyone remember a guy he traded for by the name of Chris Wilcox?? Yes he was a physical player that averaged around 13.7ppg, 7.6rebs, and 1.1apg. But!!! Was he worth the $19,000,000 he ws paid over the 3 years he was with the Supersonics?? (With only playing 29 games his first year, 62 second year, and the full 82 his third season?) I will say hell no!!! Or how about Danny Fortsons deal? Or lets revisit the deal he gave Rashard Lewis!! Lol! HELL NOOOOOO!!!!! Sund may have made some get moves but its a lot of bad that came with him and those ridiculous contracts during his tenures.. Marvin Williams shouldn't have been selected the 2nd overall pick in the first place. In which, I place a large blame on BK's stripper and coke habits lol.. I'd rather kept Josh Childress instead. These deals just scream Marvin, Bibby, and Pachulia.. "YOU OVER-REACHED SON-D" Now Pachulia.... Are you serious? Do really think he's worth the $9,998,750 left on the last 2 years of his contract?? If you do, then you should definitely move into the crazy house. Do you know what kind of player we would've gotten with that money?? Hey, I like Zaza's energy (Ala Al Horford..lol) but that was a REACH!!!! Pape Sy.. It was a try, I can honestly say that.. But who in the world wastes a second rd pick on an absolute nobody that can probably play in this league. Did you forget the money we had to pay to get him over here too? Yep, I bet you did! Honestly I'd rather drafted a couple players that went undrafted over Pape. How does this list look? Manny Harris G, 6'5 Mikhail Torrence G, 6'5 Miroslav Riduljica C, 7'0 I think we should've used that pick for one of these guys and instead, kept Pape in Le Havre for another year. But hey, what do I know.. I'm just a guy that loves and understands basketball. I would've loved to see Gladyr given the chance to earn a spot rather than take that chance with Sy. If Gladyr's body wasn't ready to play in the NBA then Ricky Rubio should be a bouncer at Magic City. But oh... oh.. oh...oh.. The Hinrich deal was waaaaaay over reached!! Yeah we needed to unload Bibby "The Grey" but, at that cost?! Sund gives our 1st rd pick for the previous year ("he who's name shall not be mentioned") and the second rd pick for the following year for KIRK HINRICH!!! We were absolutely caught with the crack pipe on the table. Lets say if "he who's name shall not be mentioned" did pan out, how would you then view the trade? We essentially over-reached for an overpaid-tweener who's having health setbacks at the moment. But, I will wait and see if this Hinrich thing works into our favor. At the moment, I'm not seeing any ideal impact from him in future. Hey, maybe I'm wrong... just saying though.. We're officially draft crippled for this year just because of that trade. And that pick might have been the equalizer we needed to bring Dwight Howard here in a trade.......
  24. I don't see anything major that's a problem with our interior defense. *shrugs
