  1. If we're in a trade with IND involving Turner, I want Turner coming to us. Give me Turner over Oladipo
  2. Here's the thing about Trae's defense. Yes, its bad. He's also a PG. He doesn't have to be earth shattering defensively at the PG position. He literally can't be, there is not one PG in the NBA that makes that kind of impact defensively. He needs to get a bit better but its more about the people around him than it is him
  3. I'm not in love with him because of the shooting concerns. HOWEVER, I think the rest of his game is interesting. Depending on how legit his defense is he might actually be an ok fit. Here's a crazy thought: what if we drafted Cole Anthony? The percentages aren't good but the tape is nice. Maybe Cam convinced me not to worry about percentages lol. I think Anthony looks better than he did frankly.
  4. All I'm gonna say is I thought this dude would bust and now expect a high end starter at least. Happy to eat crow the whole way
  5. Trae is gonna be the best of the 4 when it's all said and done
  6. Not a lot. I'm not in love with Teague honestly, if he's costing close to the MLE let him go I think Responded above, my b
  7. Hm. I'd probably do that, but I'd worry about our finances going forward.
  8. I don't think we have an asset we'd be willing to give up the Nets would be interested in. Dinwiddie is worth a first, he's a starting caliber guard
  9. Maybe not right now, but I suspect either he or Embiid will be in the not so distant future. Their cap situation is bad and so is their fit
  10. Our pick, maybe plus Dedmon For Simmons + Horford Philly drafts a guard, gets out the tax. Trade Capela for some asset after. We go full 7 seconds or less Suns, with our own Nash, Stoudemire, Diaw and Joe Johnson. Start Horford, w/ Simmons at the 3. Roll out a death lineup of Trae/Cam/Hunter/Simmons/Collins
  11. The positive thing is this: we've got the most cap and relatively few holes in the roster, plus a high pick. We need a guard and a solid forward or two. We can make that happen, pretty easy. I wouldn't do anything drastic, we'll make the playoffs as long as we're smart.
  12. Keeping cap open and contracts short isn't just about signing dudes, it's also about keeping flexibility and minimizing risk. Any of those guys (particularly Grant and especially Teague) could fall off a cliff and you're left with dead weight, much harder to get better or worse.
  13. Derrick Rose is interesting, could probably be had for seconds
  14. Malik Beasley? I wouldn't do that trade to begin with but Beasley is a restricted free agent, we could sign him if we like him that much.
  15. Your first paragraph is what I'm saying, I wasn't disagreeing with you, just clarifying. I also mostly agree with your last paragraph, one reason I'd like to draft a guard who can play with Trae is I like the FA forwards more than the FA guards. Gimme Hayes and Bertans and it's a wrap.
  16. BPA is in the eye of the beholder, I'm sure Schlenk's board is way different than the mocks out there.
  17. Bertans jumps out among the UFAs. I think he's 27 and can shoot the lights out. Didn't see this thread earlier. I'm all aboard the Killian Hayes train, also like Edwards and Okungwu. Not as interested in Wiseman.
  18. Why? The only good team with cap is Miami (who might want to gold space for 2021), and the only other teams with real space are New York, Detroit and Charlotte. We are way more attractive than those guys. PLUS, a lot of those players are on teams with cap issues. So my (pretty reasonable, I think ) offseason plan is this: 1) draft a guard that can both back up and play next to Trae. Killian Hayes is my pick, nice combo of upside and fit. Haliburton and Ball are interesting 2) Sign Bertans 3) See what Philly is willing to give up to duck the tax, try to land either Richardson, Thybulle or Simmons from them. Potential new team: Trae/Hayes Richardson/Huerter Reddish/Hunter Collins/Bertans Capela/Dedmon 4) Make the playoffs with a lot of room to grow.
  19. Dedmon for Horford and Thybulle, we lose some cap this/next year, get a young wing for the deal. Philly gets out if the tax and still has a backup C for Embiid. I'd also be interested in dealing for Simmons if they're open to that, but would probably take our pick
  20. Weird draft. I'd value star upside most of all, we got cap for everything else. I think my board is: 1. Okungwu 2. Edwards/ Ball / Haliburton Okungwu can be EXACTLY what we need defensively next to Collins, and his J looks workable to me. Very underrated upside I think, that kid is gonna be good. I know we have Capela but this guy could be a lot better. Ball's handle and passing are legit, needs a lotta work elsewhere. He's like Trae minus the J or Ja minus the athleticism (which might still be a good player). May be able to play alongside Trae. Haliburton I'm warming up to, but don't see star upside. Needs to fix that jumper or its gonna get swatted. Edwards strikes me as someone who will always be a little inefficient due to lack of burst, but otherwise is very talented all around. Potentially a good fit for us. I'm not super impressed with Wiseman, Obi, Deni, Hayes, lotta other folks. I think Cole Anthony shows nice flashes, don't think he's a fit. We gotta nail this pick!
  21. As long as Trae keeps killing folks he can put Damian Jones on his top 5 list for all I care
  22. Klay also kicks his leg out plenty. Did it when he tore his ACL...
  23. Still have maxish money this offseason too
