  1. Wow I was joking but maybe I should be a doctor. I've got the intuition.
  2. Really, I would have expected the complete opposite. I mean if the pec is partially torn couldn't you tear the rest. Gee I'd make a great doctor!
  3. Just wondering though, is there anyone who would take him on a vet min contract if he wanted to come here?I'd be interested since it's a low risk move that could pay high dividends and we need mitigate the loss of Horford.
  4. I see what your saying. Plus considering pec injuries are uncommon, it's more likely Al susceptible to those injuries. Not anyone's fault, just the way it is. Like I said though, I don't know anything about injuries so my opinion isn't valid, just my train of thought.
  5. I don't think the incident in itself is being attributed to playing center but rather an extended playing time out of position is what made him susceptible to that injury.I don't know anything about pec injuries let alone any injury in general, but I would think playing in a physical position would do this type of thing to him.
  6. How can you judge him when he's not finished yet? The point everyone is trying to make is that this team is a work in progress. Now I can understand if it bothers you that we haven't committed to winning our losing, but it is what it is. We know we need a center but the only deal I've seen anybody name we missed on that Ferry should have jumped on is Robin Lopez for 2 2nd rounders. Nothing else was either a) available or b) doable for this team. Look, if you have a better idea of how we could have built this team feel free to share, but comparing Ferry to the fool that was BK is unfair.
  7. With Horford out, how many minutes will Mike Scott get to play in his absence? I know they don't play the same position, but this may be an opportunity for us to see what he can do in extended time.
  8. Wow. Don't know what's worse, his delight in Horford's injury or his comment about Varejao being the one who's usually injured.
  9. I'll be the first to apologize for thinking Horford was a baby asking for a center. I just hope he makes a full recovery and there's no bad blood between he and the team.
  10. If you want to acquire Monroe by other means, fair enough. But you can't suggest trading a lottery pick in this draft for a known commodity.
  11. Have to disagree with you on Embiid. You have to think, if this is the player he's developed into in 2+years of playing basketball, just think about about how much better he can become. There are articles out there, try Bleacher Report, that back up what I am saying. Here's one that explains the Penny' potential he holds. Joel Embiid Is Andrew Wiggins' Biggest Challenger for No. 1 Pick in 2014 Drafthttp://teamstre.am/JtpOjzAnd as far as instant impact goes, the draft isn't so much about the present as it is about the future.
  12. As great a game this was for the Hawks, you have to remember that Wade wasn't playing today. I still think we would have a shot against them but the NBA/Crawford will have something to say about that.
  13. That 2005 draft wasn't that good, but I see your point. We did try to tank and rebuild we just weren't good at it.As far as fan support, I wasn't watching the Hawks until Smith's rookie season so I can't say anything about our fan base with a superstar.
  14. Just thinking out loud, but why hasn't the lottery been fixed towards the Hawks. I mean we're one of the largest basketball markets so you would think it would be in the leagues best interest to make the Hawks a competitive team. I'm not saying we're a good fan base, but the league has a reason to help us out in the name of advancing the brand.
  15. What I don't understand is why this still goes on. At some point you have to give each fan's team a fair chance to win before the the NBA becomes the WWE
  16. If I remember correctly, Shaq fouled out of a Hawks-Heat game when he only had 5 fouls so the Heat were granted a replay even after Shaq was traded. I don't think you can contest the officiating however, and let's be honest, the league wanted that outcome.I read somewhere that Lebron is 66-53 in the playoffs, 25-3 when Crawford is officiating and 41-50 when he's not. If that's not an agenda, I don't know what is.
  17. Great point, but it sounds me like Wiggins would be perfect for this team. We don't necessarily need someone who can make their own shot so much as we need a player who moves and scores well away from the ball and defends SFs at an elite level. Maybe this isn't the talent you look for in the lottery, but I think I it could work.
  18. How bad has the officiating been in this game?
  19. What are you talking about? It's one thing to disagree with the board but it's another thing to insult his intelligence. For the sake of a better conversation about the draft, who would you have picked?
  20. Don't know if this is relevant, but I think Smart's attitude needs to be considered. That is to say, he's a winner. The few articles I've read have had noting but positive things to say about his character. I think him staying an extra year at OK State is a testament to that. I think he will make it because he will put the work in to improve himself from where he is now.
  21. Perhaps I'm overusing the term floor, but otherwise do agree with you. The question is however, will he declare?
  22. I see your point about Embiid and Wiggins. After reading a bit about his background, it would take a lot to convince me not to take him first if I were a GM. A writer at Bleacher report felt his floor could be Hibbert. Wiggins just doesn't show enough on the offensive side for me to take him first.
  23. Until Bud proves us wrong in the playoffs, I think this is a fair evaluation of him. I've been pleased with what he's done, but there's no reason to get too excited.
  24. Our issues are deeper than that. We don't get free agents largely because we don't pursue the them. Half these players we miss on don't go on to do much on their teams either. What we need to do is focus on the talent we do have and make moves as they appear. Tanking isn't a viable option if you can't properly develop the talent you draft.
