  1. Wow, Bob & Nique really get better seats at away games than at State Farm now. The Hawks need to do better.
  2. Ay dios mio. How do you let Bogdanovic beat you down the court for a transition dunk?
  3. Y'all don't act brand new. We've seen Capela be trash and ineffective before. He's probably dealing with some kind of injury. Let's hope it doesn't derail his entire season.
  4. I haven't done much Youtube highight scouting, but Dereck Lively II at Duke might be one to watch.
  5. Remember, the reason we even got him was because he was injured with the Rockets. If he's injury prone, that's just something we have to deal with.
  6. He's a high effort player, so I don't think motivation is the issue. He's just not 100%.
  7. I don't know anything for certain, but he must be playing through injury. His minutes are down and he's clearly not making the same impact while on the court.
  8. It can go far, but we've got to improve our jump shooting. 3-7 from three is a great percentage but not enough attempts.
  9. I've seen enough from both Holidays. I'm not saying they shouldn't play at all, but Griffin should be ahead of both in the rotation unless he shows he can't play at this level. We need a volume shooter to complement the rest of our players.
  10. Or take the lumps now and see if he can make an improvement in the coming weeks.
  11. I hope these Collins' post ups are a permanent fixture in the offense this season. He's been underutilized for too long.
  12. Great start to the game. Pistons need to start helping more to force us into more jumpers. That's been our achilles heel to start the season.
  13. You're right that we could use Jae Crowder but I'm not trading JJ for a goon with a mediocre offensive game. Much less one who is looking to get paid in the offseason. I don't think we'll do it because of the luxury tax implications anyways, but JJ is too talented to trade for Crowder, even if he may be the more impactful player.
  14. There's no question in my mind that Trae is one of the best players in the NBA right now. But to have his name next to all-time greats you have to win championships. That's the barometer for me whether it's fair or unfair. There have been other talented players in NBA history that don't get put in these conversations because we're not watching a 1-on-1 competition. I believe the Hawks will win multiple championships with Trae, but only time will tell.
  15. Trae will be an all-time great if he can perform come playoff time. He is already putting up the regular season stats, he just needs rings to give him legitimacy amongst the league's best players. It'll take time though, as great as he already is he's still growing.
  16. I do appreciate we've made it a point to feed the post. If McMillan is smart he'll get Griffin involved to add some shooting in the lineup. We got guys who shoot good percentages, but not a high volume outside of Trae.
  17. Jay answered you directy, she didn't think Fields was lying. As much as GMs might lie, in this instance I think Fields was just wrong. With timetables on injuries, you can be optimistic but the reality is you never know how soon a player can return when it's early in the recovery process.
  18. With this being our final preseason game, is Nate really not gonna put Griffin in our regular rotation once the season starts?
  19. How do the Pelicans have claim to Alabama ahead of us? This should be our territory and home game. Nevermind, their G-league team is the Birmingham Squadron.
  20. It will be hard to shoot any worse than we're currently doing. Cleveland is playing good defense, but a lot of these shots should start falling. I hope the ball starts going towards Collins more, he potentially could be a spark if we play through him more.
  21. I feel like half of them came from Clint rebounding his own misses...
  22. I'll give Gay some credit that he has some phyiscality that has allowed him to be used even as a center in some lineups, but I don't think it's really been to his team's benefit. He's fine defensively, but I don't think he's efficient enough on offense to justify the usage he has at the position he occupies. Holiday is coming off a down season and has never been particularly efficient either, but he also doesn't take as many shots. If I'm choosing between the two, I'd rather have Holiday who might be a weaker offensive player, but isn't going to take shots away from better players on the court. I know luxury tax is an issue, but someone like Millsap for the min would basically serve the same purpose Gay would for us. Gay is probably the better player, but Millsap is experienced and familiar with the organization. Hopefully our young guys step up though and relegate whichever vet we have to a permanent seat on the bench.
  23. While freeing up some extra money for an additional signing is valuable, I don't think a Justin Holiday for Rudy Gay swap would be adavntageous for us. Holiday isn't amazing by any means, but I do think he fits his role off the bench better than Gay would if we ever needed him to play real minutes for us. If the move is to free up minutes for our young guys then I'd be all for that but it means we're relying on mostly unproven guys to occupy important roles off the bench. I'd rather see Kaminsky moved for a more reliable big, but maybe he'll prove me wrong and not look completely useless.
  24. 60-22. If we can stay healthy, teams are gonna have a hard time keeping up with us. I think JJ once he gets going will be a difference maker off the bench, and we should have consistent offensive play now every possesion with 48 minutes of Trae + Dejounte. If Dre takes that next step, we should be one of the best teams in the league. The only question mark for me is our shooting off the bench. Losing Gallinari hurts us in that department, and we haven't really replaced that amongst our bigs. Maybe a vet addition at some point can give us some cover.
