  1. According to the combine numbers, Prince is a little more athletic. Prince http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Taurean-Prince-65231/stats/ 34" no step vert and 36" max vert Kenneth http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Kenneth-Faried-5325/ 30" no step vert and 35" max vert The difference is the standing reach. Faried's standing reach is 9 feet while Prince's is 8' 6" (although their wingspans are nearly identical, and even weirder, when Prince was measured b4 at USA camp, standing reach was 8' 10" 1/2.... May be due to Prince's broad shoulders, but doesn't explain him shrinking) Their games are different but one thing they both do well is offensively rebound. Faried averaged a whooping 3.5 offensive boards butttttt Prince averaged 2.6, which is pretty damn good for a small forward. He can hit the boards hard. Exactly what we need...
  2. He's actually a half an inch taller with a higher standing vert and max vert than Faried while only being 5 pounds lighter coming out of college. He is a cross between Carroll, Faried and a sprinkle of Draymond. I say Draymond because of his ability to straight line drive, rebound and defend 1 thru 4 while still having a little handle. Jack of most trades, master of none as of yet...
  3. Fixed it for you bro, lol.
  4. If it helps you guys digest this easier, retroactively, its like signing Baze to a 6 year, 74 million dollar deal. Averages out to around 12.3 mill per, what he's actually worth in many peoples eyes. We stole him for 2 years and he's getting his due... Nobody was out there that was better than him at that price point guys. And guess what, he actually wants to be here!!! Unlike our old douchebag, non rebounding, soft ass former center...
  5. Agreed Diesel. I'm usually a lurker here, but I had to speak up. Rebounding is an effort stat, and it goes to show he had very little of it in the playoffs when it counted. He was playing not to get hurt. I hate that... Speaking of Humph, that's a guy we need to be on the phone with ASAP. He can replicate what Al did and rebound for a fraction of the price. I'm not for paying a guy max that puts up 13 and 6 when it counts...
  6. If you read the articles about Boston signing Horford, you would think that he is the second coming of Bill Russell or something... One writer called him a cross between Bosh and Duncan. Really? Comparing Horford to 2 future Hall of Famers is a bit too damn much. Those 2 guys could actually rebound... Speaking of rebounds, how many did you think Horford had in the entire Cavs series? Let me help you out.... 13!!!!! 13 total rebounds in an entire series! GTFOH!!! And we had to watch him get sodomized by Tristan for 4 agonizing games. It was awful... People will try to say it was the scheme we were running, but to have 13 rebounds in a playoff series playing against power forwards (not NBA centers) is f@#Kin terrible. Now we have a guy that can finish above the rim with power, defend the rim, and get on the damn boards! It's an upgrade all the way...
  7. I would like to see Hump back and for Bud to actually play him. Also, Sessions would be a good fit here. He always seemed to play very well against us and lives at the free throw line. Would be a nice change of pace guard for us...
  8. I know all Pettaway and GRIII had great games. Very nice to see. But who had by far the highest +/- in the game? I'll give you a hint. It wasn't Pettaway, GRIII or Ashley...
  9. I respectfully disagree. I think Patterson can man the PG position in our system. Mack isn't the point guard of the future for us and benching him only lowers his value. I don't see how Patterson isn't close to Mack defensively at the point or anywhere else. The guy isn't an all world defender. Patterson isn't John Jenkins on D. I'm not selling Mack short though. I think he is a great 3 pg. I just think now we are getting a better deal if we trade the guy to a team that needs him. I just think that Patterson is a better fit at the moment. Can play some spot minutes at the 1, 2 and 3. We know Coach Bud values versatility, so I think that will determine if Patterson will find his way onto the roster. All in all, I am fine with keeping Mack. But if an opportunity presents itself to trade him, we probably should jump on it and develop the players we have at our disposal. His value isn't getting any higher than where it is now. We need $$$ and a few extra mill would help.
  10. How do you think Mack was able to develop? We need to sell high on him while he still has decent value. He deserves to be a second stringer at this point in his career. I like Mack but Patterson has the ability to offer more. A 6'5" point/shooting guard that weighs just as much as GRIII. Very good court vision and rarely turns the ball over. Decent shooter and good range. Doesn't have great speed but plays with good pace. I feel like he would be a good fit in our system. Definitely would be better defensively if we decide to run dual point guard sets. This is all just in theory though. I would give Patterson a chance, give Mack a better opportunity elsewhere and gain extra cash and a pick.
  11. We could trade Mack for a second rounder and sign both GRIII and Patterson. Let Mack go to a team where he can get some consistent minutes and net some emergency cash in case someone goes down. Patterson can our 3rd combo guard who can defend the 1, 2 and 3. GRIII nets us a 3 with impressive size and measurements that has a high ceiling, but also a low floor. It's a risk I would take with his athleticism though IMHO.
  12. I think he can be eventually. I don't think he will contribute much early on, but his ceiling is higher than Rudy's IMHO. Longer, taller and moves better.
  13. Did you watch the Hawks last year? We played great in the regular season, but our biggest and most obvious weakness was size on the inside. Rebounding and rim protection had long been a problem, but we could mask it with our great perimeter defense and guard/forward rebounding. This weakness was exposed in the playoffs when teams slowed the game down. I mean, Brook Lopez looked like Kareem Abdul Jabbar against us. This is why Splitter is so important. Splitter offers so much value in that he can be a spot starter against larger lineups and can come off the bench and make an impact on both sides of the court. Crawford doesn't offer anything that we don't already have on the roster. Our point guards are our strength and Korver, Hardaway and Baze can man the 2 well. I think Edy will need some time in this offense before he can be useful. Can't put all your eggs in one basket on a player who hasn't played one NBA game yet. I do love Edy's upside though. He can be a better Rudy Gobert all day long. Hopefully he keeps taking coaching well. He is like a blank slate that has not learned any bad habits. Surprisingly he is very good at pick and rolls and defending them also. I hope he will be a Hawk for years to come, but don't see him contributing much early on. http://i59.tinypic.com/9amru1.jpg
  14. Seriously, stop overreacting SMDH. They have never gotten in any kind of trouble before.
  15. Dude relax SMH. The majority of NYC police are assholes. That is a fact. Probably went down like this... Copeland and his lady friend were injured and waiting to receive medical treatment. Crowd started to form around them. Thabo and Pero seeing a fellow NBA player in need of help and space shielded them off from the crowd. Police showed up and told everyone to clear the area very rudely. Pushing, shoving and knocking people out the way like they always do. Pero and Thabo get pushed by said rude officers and reacted. Police of course need 20 police officers to handcuff one person... Pero and Thabo are lucky to survive. A lot of people who deal with the NYC police don't.
  16. Moose balled out though. When was the last time we have seen a putback dunk? Was refreshing to say the least. Hopefully he can keep his good play up, and keep Pero glued to the bench in the playoffs. Although, Moose is a better 4 than he is a 5. With that said, Moose is better at his second position than Pero is at his first... Great game Moose!
  17. He is 6'5", but his impressive 6'11" and 1/2 wingspan is what gives defenders trouble. Long arms help him get into the passing lanes and block shots with ease. He and Thabo have some really impressive wingspans.
  18. What's also interesting is who they lost to. Jazz and Atlanta run the same offensive system. Could be a nice precursor to what will happen when they come to Phillips...
  19. Wow. This is the most beautiful basketball I have ever seen this team play... The ball movement, the defense and the toughness. We have all the components to make a deep run in the playoffs. The Hawks shot 30 percent in the first quarter. So what? Hawks collected themselves, adjusted accordingly and proceed to grab the lead and run it up to double digits in the 7th consecutive road game. I love this TEAM!!!!
  20. Well since you are bringing up perpective, from mine, it looked like you were just pointing out something I said and going in. I wasn't taking it personally, (I LOLed) just wondering why someone would do that. Anyways, if Horford can't get any meaningful rebounds and is constantly out rebounded by guards and small forwards, the Hawks need to move on.
  21. If the Hawks win the glass, there wouldn't be all these close fourth quarter games.
