  1. I feel the same we have the potential to be hitting our stride right as golden state and Cleveland decline or break up. It still is painful now watching us just lay a foundation. Here's to delayed gratification and faith in then"plan"
  2. If we do facitate this kind of trade I sure hope our new GM's process improves our team as much the next couple years as he has helped other teams improve this off season
  3. Guess I'll keep my day job and leave the satire to the folks at the onion lol
  4. Another exciting thing is the moves so far are making summer league must see TV. We may be the first team in NBA history to have the samexperience starting five on opening night as summer league lol
  5. If I had to guess I would say polishing up his resume or crying softly in the fetal position with his blankie....
  6. I agree I think our future has great potential but watching the team getting nuked, don't think blowing up is sufficient at this point, is a bit painful to watch!
  7. I think Darko and Isiah Ryder are both available at very reasonable contracts as well.
  8. According to totally unsubstantiated sources inside the Hawks organization the new GM has executed the most audacious salary dump move in NBA history. Allegedly a $1 million dollar professional "hit" has been authorized on Kent Bazemore and Dennis Schröder. An unnamed Atlanta front office executive stated that they were shocked that the current CBA did not have a prohibition on executing current players under contract. This clears both enormus cap space and two roster slots that we can fill at league minimum contracts the executive further elaborated. This may become the NBA version of NFL style player cuts and we think is the wave of the future. NBA Commissioner Silver gave a no comment response to the story. Both Mr Bazemore and Schröder were unable to be reached and are assumed to be in hiding at an undisclosed secure location. Phil Jackson was available for comment and fully supported the idea and said it should be standard procedure following almost all Knicks FA signings. More as the story develops. A little levity to try and cheer up my fellow sqwuakers whow may need a laugh so far this free agency!!!!
  9. Looks like we are letting THJR walk http://www.ajc.com/sports/basketball/report-hawks-won-match-offer-sheet-hardaway/WtHiXkgNfno1gKX8KXNOoK/ Are we even going to make league minimum salary at this rate if we don't sign somebody?
  10. I guess maybe I'm still suffering from sticker shock from the new CBA and today's player salaries. I never looked at the offer from your perspective but you point is very solid. THjr's offer may not be as crazy as I first thought. We will still get lambasted in the media if we match though the damn four letter will have a field day ripping us. Not that they don't for anything we do though!!
  11. I hope this isn't a sign we match the crazy offer THjr got. He played great in spots but the Knicks offered stupid money to him.
  12. I think next year may be painful but at least we are not treading water anymore. We were never going to win a title with our prior core. I think Dennis and Prince both showed they were players you could build around. I have high hopes for Collins and think he was a steal where we took him. We were not going to assemble a team that could beat the warriors or even the Cavs or Celtics through free agency. We have a chance with our high number of first round picks to build a team through the draft though. We can have great depth or potentially package them to get a top pick if there is a player we love. We have added some high picks via trade that have underwhelmed but out best attribute has been player development so I think the acquisition of a young center from the Sap SnT that the media is viewing as a throw in could be a move that looks very smart if he develops like DMC Bazebor THjr. I don't want to watch the losses pile up next year as our young core learns and develops. I am going to hold onto hope that we develop some homegrown stars and when the Warriors and Cavs are falling off from age or finances we are positioned to have a strong core of young players that might attract a top FA and we look back as this off season as when we turned a corner. Maybe it's dumb optimism but I really feel good about the future right now. Hell maybe we get in the Lottery and Silver rigs it for us because he wants a winner in the ATL!!!!!
  13. I wonder if the 19th pick may indicate the Hawks are going to take a run a Deandre Jordan. I don't think he has ever mentioned the Hawks ever as a team he has interest in. He would fill the 5 for us if we drafted Milsap's replacement and are going to throw his cap space at another max player. Don't see how the Clipper's would be looking at Sap in a sign and trade if they are in rebuilding mode so I doubt this would ever happen. Would other people like to see Deandre in the ATL
  14. Just curious what people's thoughts are about who starts at center next year
  15. Yeah that is why I feel it's too early to get real excited we will know if he will be a real steal and contributor once other teams get some film on how we are using him and how they can prevent him from doing what we want. At least the initial look is promising though!!
  16. It's too early to get really excited but if he keeps playing anywhere close to this level this trade goes from "What the heck are we doing to" to "Heck yes we robbed the Cavs like Bonnie and Clyde". I love the way he fits with the second unit and brings some skills to our second unit we needed. I never thought he would put on a Hawks uniform and based on the rumors we only wanted to do the deal if he went to a third team even the Hawks brass didn't expect this. Maybe he is rightously pissed the whole league disrespected him and plays with a chip on his shoulder the rest of the season.
  17. I will pay the fine for you and loan you a bat for your flagrant three foul you lay on him
  18. At least my joke wasn't as bad as the one Wilcox actually said to season ticket holders
  19. Yeah you have a point there now that I thought about it
  20. Ohh well I guess my attempt at humor was a epic fail!!! I will leave comedy to the pros I guess and stick to finance from now on..
  21. I have it from a totally unreliable source that Budcox goal is to trade Sap and Dennis for the retired contracts of Isiah Rider and Danny Manning so they can have the uncontested worse most fan infuriating move in franchise history!!! Just a little attempt at humor hopefully a few squawkers get a laugh during this frustrating time to be a fan!
  22. I just can't buy this rumor. I felt like THjr had earned more playing time this year. I thought the Korver trade would open up minutes for him. If we dump him for a (usually) worthless 2nd round pick I will not be happy. Unless Bud thinks both our picks are ready to play big minutes who the heck comes off our bench to play SG. At some point we have to trade for an actual "player" unless we see if the NBA will let us play 4 on 5 because we have a "player to be drafted later" check in to play on the wing. God help us if we dump THjr for a second and SAP for trash and a first Dwight will totally check out and we will be back in the Isiah Rider era of fan disgust!!!!
  23. I am in agreement with this. Thecampster"s post really made me reconsider this deal in a more positive light.
  24. Just a thought but it seems like we have a lot of future picks from past deals. Anyway we maybe use some of that ammo to sweeten a Milsap deal to offset the "rental" risk to another team and bring back a substantial player? Or is thia just busting up the team going young and starting over....
  25. Just curious how many future picks do we now? Seems like every trade we do is for future picks and almost never for an actual
