  1. GSW used the stretch provision on him. His cap hit is $945,126 for the next three years.
  2. I doubt it happens July 1st, as the Spurs will probably wait until Durant signs somewhere before they do anything. So, in that case we would already know if we need the cap space for Durant or not (most likely not). I would have absolutely no problem taking on Mills.
  3. Lol yea he was there with Wes Wilcox. It was streamed on Hawks' facebook. Believe you can watch a replay of it there. It was really short - nothing too material.
  4. Anyone else watch this? Super excited to have Bembry. Guy seems like a true, hardworking professional. During Q&A the first two questions were directed at him and it seemed like Cordinier wouldn't be included much, so he began answering the questions and included Cordinier in his response. Also, I couldn't believe the woman from 11Alive had the nerve to ask Bembry about his brother who died ~2weeks ago...
  5. The "Howard as a backup plan" does not make any sense to me, especially if we are focused on resigning Horford. Plus, I don't think the Hawks' FO would leak that. Makes me think that Howard's agent is the source/leak.
  6. The ESPN Trade machine is using the 2015-2016 salary cap still. It would actually be very easy for us to acquire them in a trade on July 1st, but the only way that happens is if SA wants to make cap room for a big free agent (ie. Durant).
  7. I thought Kent Bazemore was 6'5"? I guess that is with shoes and you have their height listed as without shoes?
  8. I think most agree with that. The problem is that Charlotte will most likely max him out as well, and everything Batum has indicated is that he wants to return to Charlotte.
  9. Teague plays a position that is filled with available talent, whereas Ibaka, as a somewhat stretch 4 that can defend, is a hot commodity. Everyone knew we were trying to trade Teague, whereas I am sure OKC would have been content to just keep Ibaka since they were so close to a championship. We had no leverage. There is probably a handful of places where Teague would realistically sign longterm (Indiana being one and Philly most likely not one), which played a factor. Whereas, Ibaka is just looking to have a bigger role than sitting in the corner 3 and would probably sign wherever provides that for him. Last and most important, Orlando got fleeced.
  10. Out of the available free agents, I like DJ Augustin and Jerryd Bayless as solid backups. I like Lin, but think he will cost more and he is looing to go to a team where he will be a starter.
  11. That's easy to say and harder to do. I am sure the Hawks looked to do that, but there is also rumors that the Celtics were looking at Prince at #16. So they realistically had only 3 teams to trade down with and it's very likely that those teams didn't want to trade.
  12. I was thinking about this too and wanted Beasley at 12 and Prince at 21. But obviously there was something that the FO liked about Prince more than Beasley. Maybe it is his size or maybe Beasley injury scared them. Also, there really is no guarantee that Prince would have been there at #21. I am glad that we got wings though. I think the Hawks want a vet PG that they get through FA. It doesn't really make too much sense to draft a young PG and develop him when your starting PG is 22 years old. Overall, I am not too upset with this draft. We will see how it plays out.

Traded to the Cavs for $.
  14. I like Beasley, but was hoping his injury issue would make him fall to us at #21.
  15. Yea - I just don't believe the reports that we traded Teague to clear capspace. Hawks keep things pretty hush, so why would they leak their reasoning for trading him. Plus, if we wanted to clear capspace then why wouldn't we trade Splitter? I think we traded Teague to get some value out of him before he left in free agency.
  16. How does everyone feel about #21 pick for Thad Young? Brooklyn is trying hard to get a first round pick and shopping Young. He would be a great big to have off the bench, but doubt he would want to come off the bench. The problem with this is the amount of cap space he would take up. His contract isn't bad by any means, but you never know which FAs might be wanting to sign with us.
  17. I would be fine with Sabonis and Beasley (who is pretty risky but with great upside). The problem with this is that our team composition would be somewhat weird with two first round picks coming in with an aging Millsap and Al Horford. On top of that, we could potentially have another two first round picks next draft.
  18. The whole "preserve cap space" thing doesn't make any sense to me. We have the space for Al already and I don't see too many top FAs that are likely to sign here. Idk... Maybe some agents have told our FO that their players are interested in signing here, but I doubt it.
  19. This trade doesn't make any sense if you're the Bulls.. If the Bulls want to rebuild, then why would they want Sap? Don't get me wrong. I would love to have Butler, but this just isn't realistic. He is one of the best 2-way players in the league, still young and on a good contract. It's going to take a lot to get him.
  20. No one knows. I have seen reports saying that Boston tried getting Okafor for the #3 pick, but that Philly wants to give up Noel instead.
  21. Chicago isn't trading Butler. That's pretty evident now that they got rid of Rose. Even if they were, why would they give up Butler for Sap + anything else you throw in? Butler is 26years old, plays one of the scarcest positions, is a 2-way player and is on an amazing contract for the next 3-years. In all these trade scenarios, people are only looking from the perspective of the Hawks and not the other team. Only teams that would want Sap are teams that are looking to contend for a championship right now or teams that don't have a "superstar-like" veteran presence.
  22. Couldn't Beasley possibly fall to #21 given all the injury risk surrounding him?
  23. People are so reactionary. Budcox really hasn't made that many moves yet, so how could you possibly judge them? The Adreian Payne (a guy drafted by Ferry) trade for a first round pick is definitely a positive. The THJ trade I believe is a positive when comparing him to the players that were drafted around our pick last year. Though, from reports it sounds like we were really trying to trade up to get Booker, which would have been a great move. The Teague trade is hard to judge without knowing what we do with the two first round picks. But people have to understand that we had no leverage when trading Teague.
  24. Wojnarowski reported that it was the #12 pick and he is pretty credible. But it still hasn't been finalized, so who knows.
  25. Yea - that's the way I understand it. Would probably need to slot in cap hits for the #12 and #21 pick ($1,931,900 and $1,249,800, respectively), but that's what I am getting to.
