From the Athletic's power rankings today.. We’ve seen the Hawks randomly turn a season around in the middle of it before, so we can’t completely write them off from making the playoffs. However, turning it around to get to 43 wins and hit the over seems highly unlikely. This team just isn’t serious about doing the right things to win games. There is so much talent on this team. They have a good coach. They still can’t do what it takes to take down non-losing teams. The Hawks need a complete overhaul because this approach is broken.

for the good of the NBA the Hawks should make this trade. NBA deserves Trae/Wemby combo. That would be awesome.

I liked Mo in summer league. But that could mean he’s still 2-3 years away from being a productive rotation player.

Hawks should do what they can to be in position to draft Cody Williams. I've only seen him play a few minutes, but he looks like a clone of his big bro and that's enough for me. In a draft this weak I'm going with the closest thing to a sure thing and that's the genes of the Williams brothers. JDub won't be an allstar this year, but plays at an all star level. Here's a secret that no one knows....JDub is actually a better point guard than SGA. SGA is a better 2 guard.

Dre and the Hawks had nothing to do with the win over OKC. OKC lost that game, ATL didn't win it. ATL won by being so bad that OKC completely overlooked them after playing a massive game in Boston the night before and then having everyone in the media throw flowers at them the entire day leading up to the ATL trap game.

People said it at the time and we laughed, but they were 100% right. Going to the ECF was the worst thing that could've happened to this franchise/team.

you listening this morning @kg01 ? Scal and Isola picked the all star teams. came up with 15 names in contention, not a single mention of Trae. Even when they listed every team one by one they didn't mention Trae when they got to Atlanta.

National media is catching up. CBS sports line article today about who should be the starters and they not only had Trae as a starter, they had his picture in the thumbnail photo for the article on the main page.

So I watched the OKC broadcast rather than the ATl broadcast. they did a whole segment talking about how great Dominique was. Michael Cage had a lot to say on that front. Most interesting to me was how they covered the Trae Young/Lindy Waters connection. They mentioned how they were high school teammates and how they were the "dynamic duo". But no mention at all about how much they dislike each other. No mention of how they don't even acknowledge each other on the court. Years ago I was watching OU vs OSU with Trae vs Waters with Fran Franchilla who knows literally everyone connected with the game of basketball world wide on the mic. Fran said something that to this day has stuck with me and my wife. He said they were high school teammates, but they are not close. It was such an odd comment at the time,. but it made perfect sense when you read between the lines. It was clear that they didn't like each other. Since then I've seen them on the same court several times and they never say hi to each other. Very odd for former HS teammates. My theory has always been that Waters resented that the kid a year younger than him in school was suprassing him and over shadowing his own senior year. I always chalked it up to Waters jealousy of Trae. Would love for someone to ask Trae or Lindy and really get to the bottom of it. It became a regular "meme" in my house whenever we would see Waters on TV one of us would comment and say "...and he's not close friends with Trae" To this day we still say that or joke about whenever announcers talk about players who are childhood or long time friends.
