  1. Told ya so! I gotta start getting into gambling. Seems like a healthy hobby.
  2. If I was more skilled I would insert the Die Hard "welcome to the party pal" GIF
  3. I'm excited for all of you to get to see a team that actually plays the game the right way on both ends. You're going to see something tonight you've never seen in the 6 years I've followed the Hawks.....guys making back door cuts. Watching OKC play is like watching Princeton beat UCLA back in the 90s. They also move the ball, very rare taht the ball stops. And guys actually move without the ball. They have the best mid range player in the league in SGA and JDub isn't far behind him. And everyone busts their ass on defense. They really are a joy to watch and a refreshing change from the crap we watch night in night out.
  4. I wouldn't be so sure about that. OKC played a massive game last night and won. This morning the world woke up and realized that OKC is really really good. They are the talk of NBA radio all day. They just came off a stretch where they won 10 of 12 and trounced several contenders in the process. They have a massive January schedule coming up. They're playing a team/franchise that would best be described as a laughing stock to the rest of the league. This has trap game written all over it for OKC. I wouldn't be surprised if ATL gets the win tonight.
  5. if that's true, that's super sawft. Maybe, like me, he's sad the team didn't drarft Tari Eason instead?
  6. so is he just sad? Sad that his game apparently went to crap over the summer? Sad that the rapture he predicted didn't happen? What's the deal?
  7. I'm with Booker 100% on that. Not sure how you can look at that otherwise. Also Metu is a major ass. Just google "metu" and "nut shots". It really shouldn't be a hard concept. You turn it over you run back hard on defense.
  8. hell yea, killing 2 birds (no pun intended) with one stone. OKC playing Boston tonight so they might be ready for a let down game tomorrow.
  9. No, the pinnacle of hypocrisy is [the idea that players aren't at colleges to get everything they can out of them for their benefit]. you acting like the colleges just use these kids to make money and then spit them out without acknowledging that the “using” is happening on both sides with players using colleges in order to also make money =- PURE HYPOCRISY Hey Antonio, Congrats on raising your draft stock this year. You did a great job taking advantage of the free access you had to best coaching in the country, state of the art facilities, very expensive training staff and treatment, a competitive schedule, etc etc etc etc. BTW Antonio, do you know how we pay for all that stuff? With money we earn for our school and athletic department. And how do we earn that money you ask? By playing games vs other colleges and having people pay a lot of money to watch those games in person and on TV. Part of that money comes from being in Bowl games which can be quite lucrative to the schools involved. All those facilities, coaches and trainers you took advantage of this semester? Those were all paid for by the hard work of the players who came before you. And what are you going to do for those athletes who follow in your footsteps? Oh yea, you’re going to sit out the bowl game and give us less of a chance to win, hurt our exposure nationally to future recruits and in general hurt the product of College football which could/should eventually lead to people/TV networks spending less money on CFB and as a result our school will make less money and those guys coming after you won’t have the same advantages you had this year. [ @shakes - knock off the insults ]
  10. [I disagree]. [I am [n]ot even [going to] respond [to the arguments here because I disagree so strongly.]
  11. Injuries are part of sports. Some people are lucky and avoid them and countless others aren’t so lucky. Thems the breaks. The answer is not to stop competing. that’s a slippery slope that has already led us into nonsense land when it comes to NBA players and load management. Now as a result we have a far less entertaining game to watch as consumers. All because we have players nowadays who think it’s their god given right to have a 20+ year career and sign as many multi-million dollar contracts as possible. It’s all nonsense. And it’s only going to get worse for sports when dummy fans buy into this nonsense. Guys skipping bowl games so they don’t hurt their draft stock. Then we’ll have guys skipping conference season because their agent told them they showed enough in the pre conference schedule. then we’ll have guys sitting out the whole year and doing solo workouts rather than play and possibly hurt themselves or their draft ranking. in basketball only a matter of time before players start skipping the tournament. Then tghe conference season. Then they just say screw it and skip the entire spring semester. I’ll keep it real simple: If you’re an athlete play every game that’s in front of you and hope for the best…just like 1000s of athletes before you have done. If god forbid you get hurt then go out and use that college degree to get a real job like everyone else and still live a good life. stop enabling this Bullshit!
  12. This might be the worst draft class in history. The fact that people are talking about Collier going #1 solidifies that.
  13. This is such a stupid post. everyone who reads it is now a little bit dumber.
  14. Agree. At this point, why not?
  15. OKC wouldn’t touch Trae with a 10 foot pole. They are one of the youngest teams in the league and they’re top 5-10 in offense AND defense. Only thing they are lacking is rebounding and depth of size. SGA is the perfect PG,no way they willingly take the ball out of his hand. And no way they willingly take Dort’s defense out of the starting lineup. He guards the other team’s best player so guys like SGA and JDub don’t have to. Also Trae couldn’t play for OKC. Their players move without the ball. Pretty sure it’s in Trae’s contract that no one is allowed to even ask him to do that. That’s the only explanation that makes logical sense to me at this point.
  16. if you recall Zion really wanted the Hawks to win the draft lottery and select him. Do you remember he walked by the list of teams on the stage and when he got to ATL he reached out and touched their placard. At the time it seemed like an obvious indicator that he wanted to play for the hawks. But, years later it now appears equally obvious that the reason he he touched the Hawks placard is because he thought someone had gotten some cake frosting on it and he was hoping to get a taste.
  17. black people shouldn't get tattoos. They always look terrible. Just like white people shouldn't wear bright colored suits unless you're Craig Segar. And white people over the age of 30 shouldn't wear basketball jerseys unless there is a t-shirt underneath. These are all facts of life.
  18. @Diesel's hypocrisy when it comes to injured players is well known and well documented on this site.
  19. Vuc was also out. so they were down 2 all star starters.
  20. Trae's streak is over. Time to get back on the pledge. Meanwhile OKC continues to be a very enjoyable team to follow.
  21. maybe they want to avoid the optics of celebrating the town where MLK did great work by subjecting a national TV audience to the Hawks doing terrible work? loser has to do a old west gun shooters duel vs Ja.
  22. Trae's season defining streak is over and Capela missed a free throw. Not sure what else could go wrong last night. Oh yea, we lost the game not that matters anymore. This team is going to lose A LOT more games than it wins this year. If you don't believe me here it is summed up in a Haiku.... Pathetic losers Getting worse year after year Bad franchise sucks balls
  23. Hell yea! Tied the record, one more to go!!!
  24. Big victory last night! #6! Tonight we make it #7 and tie the record! LFG!!! This is our NBA Finals! There won't be anything this team does this year more meaningful than Trae's streak.
