  1. Being undermanned was no excuse for the nucleus of our team not to execute and play the way they did in the first half. I mean every Hawks looked like they were watching the game on TV and no one was into it. It seemed like they had just come off a 4-game in 5 night road trip or like they gave up on the season or something. I was disappointed in all of the players for playing with no heart/pride and no effort to get back in the game. We finally started to put things together last month and stopped laying down for teams. But this one took us back. And why in the H3LL didn't Woody play Donta or Lang once the game was out of hand. Instead the dickhead played the starters with Chillz and Marvin for heavy minutes and just wore them down for no reason.
  2. With Smoove getting a lot of minutes and experience against PFs on both ends, I think he'll be playing PF as soon as next year. This means that the Hawks may really take off next year with a lineup where both of them start with JJ, giving us a PHX Suns-like team. Keep in mind, Ben Wallace is unrestricted and the Pistons are right at the Salary Cap with their guaranteed contracts and TPrince's new contract starting. Even though it's unlikely that the Pistons will willingly let him walk, but anything can happen in FAcy. Big Ben was under Woody in DET and ATL is closer to his home (Alabama) than DET. So you never know, and it never hurts to wonder, "what if?" We will have to move Al to make it work? NEW LINEUP: Big Ben Smoove Marvin JJ ??? - S&T Al for star PG.
  3. Any S&T with the Knicks-Hawks should include Frye!!!

    Is This Fair?

Don't even matter who's better because they're both Atlanta Hawks. What does matter is whether they'll emerge into an allstar duo like Marion/ Amare or will one become a star and the other to hit a ceiling of mediocrity.
  5. Actually there were more than that. I think there were about 8-10 Hawks games that were not televised this year.
  6. Zaza is OK. Not great as a starter, but very OK and he's only 21, holding his own. Either we: A) get an impact C and let him play backup or B) we move Al and get a impact PF to play next to Zaza and Smoove I vote option B, because if we get an athletic PF who runs the floor gets 8+reb and can get atleast 1.5+bpg, then we'd have one hell of a defensive frontline. Now I rather have that along with Zaza's toughness and rebounding than having Al play out of position at PF for another year. For the record (FTR) - Zaza is not very turnover prone when compared to the rest of the DECENT starting centers. Only Yao, Ilgauskas, Camby, and Bosh have fewer TOs per game than Zaza (2.32 tpg). I included J. O'neal and Duncan as centers.
  7. Simply put, Zaza is young and a little slow, but AL is experienced and yet he flat out suck defensively 90% of the time.
  8. NO, you got the wrong pictures buddy.
  9. I like Al to POR - maybe for Jack + Pryz (but Pryz is also an UFA) But I agree with NY/CHI having the upper hand at signing him the summer. But my wishful thinking is that we move him in a deal. Now if NY gets him, they'll be looking to dump Franchis or Starbury, which is highly unfavorable for us. Judging rom the recent news/rumors, horrible season, and relationship with Larry Brown, I'd say Marbury very likely. The only way we should accept either, is if they give us Frye. Because, we don't need any more picks accept for maybe the "Oden draft". So if they'll part with Frye, which is not asking too much since they'd add Al and dump Marbury, then let's do it. Besides, even Marbury with his cancerous tendencies, would still be the best PG we've had in nearly a decade. The Hawks will be great if Marbury comes here with a good sense of: 1. our team direction - w/o LB 2. his background at GT 3. a fresh start with a more talented team
  10. Quote: He sucked, Joe had a bad shooting night but played well in every other area. Precisely. Joe had 17 ast last night and that is a world away from sucking. I just rather he take that shot than AL, but he made the smart play , but Al didn't come through.
  11. How about this for a playoff team? 1. Trade Donta + 2nd to NOK for JR Smith (disgruntled highflyer with a decent 3PT shooting touch) because neither one is playing a lot where they are 2. Trade Lue to DAL in a S/T for JT at 5yr - $42M+ - Lue gives them a veteran backup PG/ (makes room for Salim to get the backup PG mins) 3. Sign/Trade Al to NY for Frye + M. Taylor (salary comp to get NY to give us Frye for Al) 4. Draft best available athletic big - [Alridge (if he enters)/ Splitter/ Bardnani/ Sheldon W./ Tyrus T.] 5. Resign Ivey to 2yr - $3M+ (For chemistry, stable ballhandling, and his defensive intensity which should all increase more along with playmaking in his 3rd year) NEW LINEUP: C - Zaza / D.Anderson / J-Edwards PF - Frye / [Drafted Big] / Batista SF - Smoove / Marvin SG - JJ / Chillz / JR Smith PG - JT / Salim / Ivey If we don't make the playoffs with a team like this, then it's official............WE"RE CURSED!!!!
  12. How about this for a playoff team? 1. Trade Donta + 2nd to NOK for JR Smith (disgruntled highflyer with a decent 3PT shooting touch) because neither one is playing a lot where they are 2. 13. Salim is adjusting a bit since their (Woody) altercation last month. It comes down to what Woody said, Smoove finally begin to learn what it's like to work hard on and off the court, Salim will get advice and encouragement over the summer, giving him the opportunity to do the same. I'm pulling for him, because like Iverson and Larry Brown went through, a very competitve scorer's mentality is to be aggressive and always want to be on the court. I went through it before when coming up through highschool and college. In the end, I matured and my deeper love for bball and how to play bball won over the coach and his confidence.

    GG Refs

MIA got the benefit of 4 continuations with atleast 3 of them just being called spinelessly and ridiculously just to give the Heat a chance to get back in the game. I almost laughed when they had to debate whether or not to count a continuation on a play where Shaq travel. WOODY needs to atleast act like a damn coach or borrow some balls from someone (maybe Salim) and stand up to the refs and the league about this BS.
  15. Shaq wouldn't be a Priest Lauderdale, because he does have impressive footwork and mobility for his size, but...DAMMIT, that [censored] he is getting away with has to stop, because his lazy ass is gonna cripple some guy that is giving great effort to play the game the right way. Shaq's problem is he's too f'king lazy. And the funny thing is that he, nor Kobe will probably never win another Championship in their situations, because the bitches were meant for each other.

    WTF

    PLAIN F'KING SICK!!! java script:void(0)
  17. You mean, Esteban? Am I the only guy, here, that is sick of the Hawks getting f'd over by the officiating constantly? I mean, I know a few of us (including myself) have commented on it before, and I know they're the youngest team, but DAMN!!! Last night's game vs the Heat was another pathetic display of the refs taking the young guys out of a game where they were clearly outplaying an elite team. They called so many ridiculous calls against the Hawks that it's a shame, especially goaltending on a couple of Josh's blocks, Joe's buzzer beater, and a ghostly block on Batista when Shaq obviously and blatantly bulldozed the dude while he was given way and hold ground. The worst thing about it was that Batista could have been seriously hurt if he wasn't so tough.
  18. NBA 2K6 is da TRUTH, plain and simple. You can do so many things in that game that you'll feel like you were actually controlling their human counterparts. Man, I have been playing NBA/ NFL games all my life from Nintendo to PS2/ XBOX. And there has never been a more complete NBA sim than NBA 2K6. I promise you. It will take you a day or so to get into it, and then maybe a week or two to master it to the point where you can do it all. Once you start playing against you buddies, you'll really open up the depth of what it can do. This is easily my vote for the best NBA sim ever. Sad thing about EA is I have Live 06 and NBA 2K6 on PS2 and I don't even play Live 06 at all. I first got it because of its reputation and the AllStar Weekend feature. Then I played NBA 2K6 for one day and I haven't even picked up Live 06 again. It shockingly blew Live 06 out of the water with the life-like graphics, moves, abilities, and realistic simulation. If you're a die hard b-baller like me and want a video game to play that's as close to the feel of playing bball and/or watching the NBA - 2K6 is your game. I already can't wait for 2K7, because if they improve this one.... ... it's a wrap.

    Great.

Walter did pretty good with his own rendition. We thought it pretty nice and somewhat refreshing.
  20. He got jobbed and Iggy got robbed. But they both had no chance and didn't really need to show up, because I told everyone I knew that Nate just has to dunk in front of everyone and he'd win. They made it too obvious when they scored the finals as a tie after talking to each other and then putting the cards up. That was only topped by the horrible scoring in the dunk off with Iggy coming up one point short after Nate's 20 tries. Sucks but the little got tried like hell and still put all of his dunks down clean after all those tries, including that Hell-a-fied dunk over Webb.
  21. Quote: I agree about NENE, but we have so many forwards we could probably overcome a bad center. bad point guards spell doom not only at the end of the game but the entire game because of turnovers and lack of offense Say it again, man. There aint no more than 4-5 centers that really impact the game or dominate, so our lack PG play doubles our troubles.
  22. Lakers need a PG and some additional scoring, especially inside. How about Al + Lue to LAL for Odom + 1st? Or what about Al + Lue for Odom + George?
  23. Zaza is way better all around and he can score, shoot, pass, and is a stronger nside, but Daly is a better shotblocker and rebounds a little bit better (maybe). By the way Zaza gets a HELL_of a lot more rebounds than his own misses. He gets a lot of rebounds from his quickness and hustle alone!!! You guys who say that, obviously don't watch the games that close.
  24. If the Hawks were to get Andre Miller via trade and lose Al, could we win 23-25 out of the remaining 35 games and make the playoffs this year?
  25. JJ's is about as good a shooter as Redd / Allen / and way better than Hughes - and those were the guys that were heavily seeked and available for the money. Besides is way more versatille, better all around, and younger than them all. So we got the best player of the bunch. We needed to spend the $ and he was the only one that wanted to come here and he deserves every penny. Especially when you think about how many players like Eddie Jones / Tim Thomas/ Penny / Antonio Davis and tons more who get way more than JJ and they don't produce SH!T. *Kinda funny that most of those guys play or played for the Knicks recently - LOL!!! So all you guys have to realize that we had to start somewhere and with someone that has that kind of talent. When you think about no one wanting to come here and he did, then you understand that it was worth the deal and we came good. Get used to JJ in a Hawks uni and get used to the Hawks growing and improving.
