  1. HAWKS SHOULD TRADE TEAGUE for OKAFUR This idea works for both teams and both PHI was pushing to trade for Teague at the trade deadline this season, so we already know there's great interest there. They also had Okafur tentatively on the trade block. PHI is really confident in Embiid being their star C of the future and he is expected to be ready for Summer League. Philadephia would get a PG they really want to build with #1 pick, Ben Simmons, Noel, Embiid, and D. Saric. Here are my two trade scenarios: (screenshots from Trade Machine) 1. Teague for Okafur (one for one) Pretty much self-explanatory. I think both of their values from their respective teams are high but they both fill these team's biggest needs for the future. PHI needs a PG and ATL needs a true post C in our system. 2. Teague/Muscala for Okafur/Covington PHI adds in Covington in the trade making room for Ben Simmons/D. Saric to man the SF / they also receive Muscala to provide them with some stretch shooting help in their frontcourt group. ATL adds in Muscala in the trade and receive Covington, who is a younger, more agile Demarre Carroll. He is an extremely active hustle player with great 3-and-D ability and would blow up in Bud's system. He has put up great rebounding numbers, tremendous defense and hustle. Especially stealing the ball, averaging 1.4spg last yr up to 1.6spg this year. And shoots a career 36% from 3 in a lackadaisical PHI offense. That would most likely increase greatly increase with the
  2. HAVE HAWKS EVEN CONSIDERED COREY BREWER? He would be a great replacement for Carroll. He brings the hustle, energy, hard-nose slashing, tough perimeter defense. He even had 51 points, 6 steals in a game a 1-2 years ago. We also know that he's good buddies with Al Horford from UF too. makes some sense. What do you guys think?
  3. Don't really quite understand why we are not taking a low-risk, possible high reward chance on Bynum. Sure there may have been locker room issues in CLE. But he did prove this season that he's relatively healthy and can produce starting Center numbers. Keep in mind, that Coach Bud is proving to be a very strong minded, mentally tough coach who has a system to keep his team just as tough mentally. I think it's worth a look/workout without a doubt. And out system is definitely made for a big to shine in the post. He also lived or lives in Atlanta, so it's not like he has no other ties outside of basketball either. --- 1. It wouldn't cost us a player or a pick AND the asking price is extremely for a starting Center at worse --- 2. He is a former ALLSTAR, Top3 Center when healthy --- 3. Imagine when Horford would return next season IF Bynum panned out!!! Milsap would be extremely valuable as trade piece or (if he couldn't hold us down at SF) he would join Lou Williams + Schröder/Mack off the bench with Pero + Scott/Brand = that would be a tremendous beast of a bench. SERIOUSLY, WHY NOT???
  4. Why are guys still talking about the Teague benching in the SAC game??? I feel BOTH ways about it... 1 - Teague killed in the 1st QTR and had a huge smile on my face ready to brag with my boys...But AFTER HE GOT BACK IN, he was outta control, forcing, throwing up bad shots, had 5 turnovers, did not control the flow of the team much at all, and on top of that had bad defensive breakdowns on Brooks during SAC's big run in the 2nd QTR. Be honest people, if you were coaching, would you let your PG continue playing like that??? Of course not. 2 - On the other side, DREW lets Josh play way worse and way more ineffective and hardly ever pulls him and NEVER benches him...You can't be like that with Teague, especially when you let Josh play like one of the dumbest in the league when he has pulling long jumpers at a horrible %...Teague has improved greatly this season...I'm loving the increased assist numbers (which I hope he can get up to around 8apg) this season...But Teague has to continue to pick his spots to be explosive with his speed and continue to use it to set up the others.
  5. Starting to KINDA think that Dwight may not be all together "upstairs"...No diss or disrespect but every other time he gives reasoning for actions or decisions, he makes you wonder sometimes. Really want to have him here like everyone else but it is what is.
  6. Going to LA behind all the Laker greats to make a name for yourself??? LoL! Yeah right. Nothing that he will do can put him in the same lights as Shaq, Wilt, Kareem, Magic, Kobe, even Jerry. I mean aside from maybe winning 4+ chips in a row which is highly improbable. Let's be honest. He is building onto Kobe's legacy of winning, but "only getting it done with the most dominant front court"...The whole fiasco is just weak to me. Atlanta, his very own home city, has little NBA legacy and is waiting for a franchise hero to take us back to "Elite-land/Contender-ville"...Our pride and joy, Dominique Wilkins is our most popular basketball figure all-time, and he was cheated out of top 50 and never won a championship. How hard is that to out do if you are the game's most dominant big man. What can ATL offer Dwight besides the MONEY??? Factor in if he signs with us outright. He'd have a long-time best bud, who is a top 5 athlete/stat stuffer (Josh), a smart, super-competitive, well-rounded counterpart at PF (Horford), prolific shooters (another good friend in Morrow, Jenkins, Korver), and a great 6th man in Louis Williams (who is also from ATL). Throw in Teague who has the tools to be a top 5-7 PG. I mean at worse, he's better than Nelson. And the money to possibly sign another complimentary piece next summer. Just sayin.
  7. Morrow may help us get over Joe before long. I always wanted Morrow to play for us and now, I kinda loss sight of that in the midst this other BS with Dwight fiasco, but he is as sharp of shooter as Ray Allen is and he hustle and plays hard every night. We needed more players like that. A lot of people don't know but Morrow is 9th all-time in 3pt% in the NBA. ALL-TIME. He probably won't give us 20+ppg, but he will definitely not miss many open shots with Teague/Josh drive n kicks. We just need a big center like KAMAN to fill the middle and draw double teams in the post. Guys will love to play with him. Deron even said that he was the best shooter he ever played with.
  8. I would really feel more comfortable if we could trade up in the first round to the 18-20 range and that would most likely give us Fab Melo, who I think is slightly better than Festus. But I would love for us to get a big DEF center in round 1 and then get a nice scoring wing for the bench in the 2nd round.Festus Ezeli (only 22 years old)- definitely a strong DEF big man that can play next to Al and Josh.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UOBYpDJu5A0I also like his approach:
  9. THEY ARE WILLING TOI TAKE ON A CONTRACT with $12+ million in cap space. http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/221320/Raptors_Will_Consider_Trading_Draft_Pick They are seeking a solid PROVEN player. Sounds like we should try to push our 6-time All-star, Joe Johnson to TOR for the #8 + filler to make it work. TOR could absorb most of his contract. And by trading their #8 pick, they could probably take back up to $15-16 Million in salary. Joe is due about $19.7M next season. So my thinking is that TOR could get an All-star SG/SF (Joe) to go alongside Derozan and Bargnani. They would actually gain a tad bit of relevance in the league just by pulling the trigger on a big deal. Be it bad or not, they would have a veteran star, who we don't need as much as we need to get rid of his contract. This is a pipe dreaming long shot. But it would give us a lottery pick and with Kirk coming off the books, we could have a s#!t load of money for free agent SG scorers like Eric Gordon, Mayo, or Nick Young. AND still maybe get a big like Kaman, Asik (if we offer more CHI can), or Brook (who may walk, while Nets push for Dwight). We'd then have: PG - Teague, Pargo (resigned), cheap FA SG - *Nick Young, #8-(Austin Rivers or Jeremy Lamb) SF - Smoove, Marvin, T-Mac or Willie G.??? PF - Horford, Ivan (really hope resigns) C - *Kaman, Zaza, #23-(Fab Melo)
  10. The more Larry Drew was talking, the more he sounded like a poor coach. Who in the F* gives an excuse like that for blowing games vs opponents (w/o their key players)??? When asked how did we let Game 2 vs BOS get away and do you talk much about that and how it "in a sense" blew the series...He basically replied by saying "it's natural to let your guard down when facing a team without their key guys..." True, this can happen in sports. But this is basically a nonchalant, unaggressive, "sh* happens" approach/personality coming from a coach. Without a true star that can lead this team with toughness and fire, Larry Drew will not even get us to the ECF. WE NEED A REAL LEADER ON THE FLOOR or ON THE SIDELINES. And with Drew being extended, we won't have one on the sideline next season.
  11. Here's a link (http://www.nba.com/video/channels/playoffs/2012/05/08/0041100135_bos_atl_recap.nba) from NBA.com that has the game highlights and at the end you CLEARLY see Al Horford's lips saying, "See you in BOS Mutha FuKKas!!!" emphatically. Gotta love that fire he brought tonight and he physically and emotionally was not going to go out without a war.
  12. What r u name calling for man? Tone just venting like we do on this board. Everyone who is a real Hawks fan should have some kinda frustration after that game 4. But damn, kill that weak BS name calling. Plus its not like your are the greatest wither. Where is old azz Miller and draft pick going to take these guys.
  13. Sup Tone? This is Kenta and I was even more heated than you man. I couldn't even have that much composure to put a youtube vid together. I agree with everything. It's a travesty that guys like Joe have the same super subpar performances in the playoffs with his unwarranted $100+Mil contract! As for your video bruh, I just gotta say...http://www.tubechop.com/watch/357517 This organization is only going to get us the past 2nd round when they start from the top. Look at it like this. Here's a plan: 1. Owner Get a real individual owner in here that is hands-on with the process of running and building this product. Hell, I wouldn't care if it Bow Wow or Tyler Perry as long as they were vested in our team. 2. Players Decide wholeheartedly who stays beyond this summer and who goes and then blow the rest up. * Marvin Williams - Must go! Regardless of if ever realizes potential somewhere else or not. He does not work here. * Josh Smith - is a keeper! Wipe a monkey's butt with what any hater says about trading Smoove, this guy gives us too much that is extremely too hard to replace. His "boneheaded" plays will make you wanna crack the back of his head with a sharp whip, but they are slowly decreasing. I said slowly but at least they are decreasing. YOU HAVE TO REALIZE, how much would Josh play like that on a team with an elite PG, an intense, superstar leader, or well-respected coach??? He will share the ball and follow the lead of any player or coach who commands respect. * Joe Johnson - CAN NOT be amnestied YET. But he can be traded, believe or not there are a few suitors out there like GS, ORL, and maybe 1-2 more. Problem is our front office was too stagnant and reluctant to be aggressive on deals. GS moved Monta (who would've been a key in a deal for Joe). Teams like CLE and WAS have nothing really to offer. I pray there some truth to the ORL rumors and we could move Joe, Al + pick for Dwight + Hedo, but we all know that a pipe dream. * Al Horford - another Keeper. Outside of a trade for Dwight or another top 5 center in a package deal, Horford stays. * Jeff Teague - another Keeper. Especially still being in his rookie deal. His next step has to be "how to lead the team with his abilities and how to control the game"...He has to be allow to be a D-Rose/Westbrook type or a T. Paker type. He the ability to be either. He has to polish his shoot off the dribble skill, develop his pick n roll feel, and above all BE AGGRESSIVE AT ALL TIMES. * Zaza Pachulia - can be kept unless needed to make a trade (invovling a true starting center) * The others - Ivan Johnson is definitely a keeper, Kirk can go (can keep only if re-signed cheaper than $5M/yr), EVERYONE ELSE CAN GO. 3. Coach - Drew can not get these current guys any further. The current core needs a top tier coach, who demands respect, and commands all out effort. Coaches like Sloan, Randleman, and a few others have done way more with less talented players. Drew can e kept only if we get a true superstar who can lead these guys.
  14. His BBALL IQ is atrocious, and so was a good bit of guys with extreme athleticism who became very good players, but I'd take him in a nano second to play next to Horford. They don't always change but at a decent cost, he's definitely worth the risk.
  15. VERY WELL SAID. I'M ALL FOR A CHANGE right now too. But Josh, Teague, and Horford are the last guys we should even think about trading unless the return us a star player. I guarantee you a lot of guys on this board have relationship problems with women (or possibly men - LoL - just saying, but to each its own). I say that because so many of you are very near sighted when it comes to our Hawks. It's always what have you done for me lately. The millisecond one of the guys has a bad game or 2, it's off with their heads," trade him this, trade him that." A lot of us are the same with women and our possessions, "she pisses me off this" and "she'd be alright if that" and then we are on to the next chick, who 8 times outta 10 is way more screwed up and then we are stuck looking back at what could've been. It's funny how this applies to so much of our lives, right?
  16. What kinda beans we talking??? I gotta taste for beans that (talk) like that...LoL!
  17. DREW needs to sit Josh when he continues to play like that!!! Smoove promised to be aggressive/not settle for jumpers/3s like he promised in 09-10 (when he actually kept it). He has not so far this yr!
  18. Just look at one snippet of the game last night vs NJN and take into consideration both guys' history. At one point last night, AL Horford got the ball in the 3 straight possesions vs Okur. Al did basically the same same move all three times (hard drive to the right + right hand jump hook) and scored on all three, with the last being an And1. That's a smart basketball player go to your move until the defense stops it. Josh, on the other hand, seems to be in the game trying moves/shots too much instead of going to his "go-to move(s)" If Josh would play within the 15ft range and in, he'd develop toward his ceiling rather than stay stagnant and underachieve his full potential. Al has shown that he's a winner and a very smart, mature player that understands the game. Josh has the high confidence in his game, but chooses to try to do too much and ends up doing things out his range.
  19. Yeah, but why use it for Hinrich's expiring deal??? Makes way more sense to want to reduce Joe's MASSIVE cap killer or at least Marvin's deal. Say if Joe's deal was reduce to at least 75%, it would give us some flexibility. I think his deal is for $125M. So 75% of that would be about $94M...BIG DIFFERENCE! And waaayyy more reasonable for him.
  20. With NOH being in a very vulnerable spot a lot like DEN was last season, whereas Paul is hinting for a trade to a very specific team or couple of teams, we could offer them a very intriguing offer. Paul was rumored to have said that his heart is in NO and if he's traded he wants to make sure the Hornets can have something to move forward with. Not like Melo who cared less and just wanted to get to NY. Lets see New York has nothing, Orlando has better but nothing overwhelmingly good, and Clippers have nothing great either. So, enter the Hawks! Hawks have a lot of interesting pieces and contracts for trading. This is my idea to get CP3 here to ATL and also give NOH something to build with. ATL sends Joe, Teague, and Kirk (expiring) - ATL add mega PG CP3 and great DEF SG/SF to lead with Al and Josh with toughness and real experience. Hawks either add a bench SG like Shannon Brown or J-Rich this summer or a different FA SG next summer. Or with Paul here, we could offer Horford + Ariza + 1st for Dwight. NOH sends CP3, Ariza, and $3Mil CASH NOH gets an AllStar SG, a young blazing PG with high potential, and Kirk's $8Mil expiring deal to move forward with. This deal way better than the Knicks, Magic, or Clippers can/will offer the Hornets.
  21. Happy Belated 75th! What a great inspiration to all real Hawks fans. Would be nice for us all to get together on a Hawksquawk night again this season (hoping there is one)!!!
  22. Man, I hate all the negativity on this forum ALL the time! Have some damn optimism some time!!! Kito is kinda like a young Camby. Why not give the guys a chance to get his uniform before you start blasting him and saying he's a bust. Plus, another positive note to look at is that he said in an interview that he was up to about 225lbs already. ESPN even has him up to 230. I think the Hawks deserve an for him to fall to us at 48th...He was also 2nd in NCAA in blocks for a reason. I'm also glad we didn't give up Josh for a pick in the draft.
  23. HAWKS SEEM TO BE INCHING TO GET SCREWED w/ TRADING SMOOVE! I'm FURIOUS! Can't believe they want a #2 pick in a weak Draft that WILL NOT put us over the top. This has to be pure rumor. The "silver lining" would be that at least Josh would go to a poor team out West.
  24. Now I'm sure MOST of the rumors are full of BS, but... WHY THE HELL ARE THEY EVEN TALKING ABOUT TRADING JOSH LIKE HE IS A PROBLEM!!! He catches blame but at least he MAN's DA FuKK UP and goes hard (bad jumpers, good jumpers, and all). Can we say the same for Joe? Marvin? We usually can for Al. I say that because when it comes to trade rumors and with this amount of rumors, there is definitely smoke and when there's smoke...there's usually real talks. I don't get it. I apologize for the language but that's how strong I feel right now. I'm sick of our front office screwing our team up every time the team is close to turning the corner and become one of the elite contenders, they burn it down and either trade away or let go a key piece that holds it together. DAMMIT! I've been a HAWKS fans since I first understood basketball back in the early 80s and I'm fed up. They complain about fans filling the arena nightly or some fans that do show but cheer for opposing team loudly. But hey, if they are going to keep selling us short like this. 1. In all these trade rumors being speculated, the HAWKS are getting screwed and making both our div rivals (ORL) or conference rival (CHI) stronger contenders 2. Josh is the face of our team, the most recognizable player, and Im sure nearly every team in the league will try to get him as easy they can...Thats why teams are throwing lowball offers right now. 3. Trading Josh for anything less than CP3, Deron, Ellis, or similar is a FAIL!!! LET'S JUST GET A DAMN BIG (Dalembert or Nene), move Marvin and possibly Hinrch to make room for JC, Collins, and Gerald.
  25. I'd also keep Powell, even tho I think Magnum Rolle will be a surprising impact next season. Josh Powell: - is also great friends/AAU buddies with Smoove and Dwight. - still a very young, athletic big that can post, run, and rebound well. - has Championship experience even though he had a limited roll, it's great experience nonetheless. - had some very productive outings last year before his injury that pretty much slowed him the rest of the way. So, I say Collins, Wilkins, Powell, and hopefully the CBA (or trade of Marvin) allows us to keep Crawford at reasonable price.
