hotboyj
I mean who wouldn't want to keep the pick that could turn into the "Next Big Thing." People, I told you BK screwed us when he passed on the #3 pick and Darius Miles for just the #2 pick. Everyone thought I was crazy saying that, since everyone knew that Marvin Williams or Bogut would be there, and either would be better than any offer anyone had brought to us. Now lets look at what we could have gotten #3 pick: choice of either Deron Williams or Chris Paul next option: trade #3 for #6 and #27 #6:Gerald Green/Andrew Bynum/Frye/Villanueva/Diogu/Webster #27:S. Stoudamire(what would have happened) #31:Monta Ellis(what would have happened) Then have Darius Miles who just happens to be averaging: 19.7 ppg 8 rpg 4 apg and over a block a game we more than likely would have ended up trading him, since we don't want his attitude. In order not to affect JJ coming here lets say we traded #3 for #6 and #27 and traded away Miles We could have a line-up like JJ/M. Ellis Chillz/S. Stoudamire Smoove/T. Ariza/Penny Hardaway Al/Batista/Maurice Taylor Pachulia/A. Bynum No we're not a playoff team, but to replace Marvin Williams with M. Ellis, T. Ariza, P. Hardaway, M. Taylor, and A. Bynum would certainly make us a better team.
Duff_Man
Yeah, after what Darius Miles has proven, I think the team made the right choice NOT getting him. Let's see what he averages over the whole season first. The guy is a maniac and has been on nothing but losing teams. Hell, even the CAV got rid of him. You have to be wary of players that are constantly traded like him.
Lascar78
yup. Miles' talent is nowhere near good enough to justify all the problems that go with him. Go ask Mo Cheeks what he thinks of Miles

Ariza/Penny Hardaway Al/Batista/Maurice Taylor Pachulia/A. Bynum Truthfully, 1. We already have that starting 5 plus S. Stoudemire and Batista. 2. Lue is better than M. Ellis and if we end up in the draft we have a chance at a better PG than both of them. 3. M. Williams has more potential than Ariza, and Mo. Taylor 4. Penny Hardaway is finished 5. The only plus of your plan is getting A. Bynum but that's at the expense of not getting Marvin and so it comes down to whether Bynum will be better than Marv and only time will tell that. DominiqueWilkins
I’m still very happy with Marvin Williams. Going into the draft I wanted the following players by order Bogut, Deron Williams, and Marvin Williams. I happy that we’ve hung onto our pick and selected Marvin Williams, so no regrets, and Portland can keep Miles because it doesn’t mean he would have fit well with the Hawks.
