Hawks Announce Training Camp Roster

The Hawks announced their roster for their training camp which opens October 1.

Notable is the return of Mario Bennett, who participated with the Hawks Summer league team, led by current Warriors head coach Eric Mussellman.

The Hawks will be without DerMarr Johnson, who is likely out for the season after his recent car crash. Johnson who is recovering from the injuries to his neck by wearing a corrective halo, is hoping for a full recovery by next season.

Vet Journeyman with some size. Might be good insurance at the beginning of the yr if CC can't play?

I don't see Harvey making it.

The guy I think the Hawks will watch closely is Fred House. He clearly wasn't ready to play in the NBA last year, and may not be this year. He is a guy that lead the NBA Developmental league in scoring last year though, and he may be a guy that the Hawks look to sign when they incurr the injuries that are inevitable sometime down the road. I'm sure they will keep close tabs on him in whatever minor league he plays in this year.

I also felt that Bennett probably played himself into a training camp invite during the summer league. Solid rebounder who could make the opening day roster if Crawford can't go.

Super Mario is only 6'9 maybe closer to 6'8 and plays C. I don't know if his grit will get him on the team. We already have 2 undersized Cs. We need some size.
