The Island

Anybody ever see the movie The Island?

I just rented it on video. It had some wonderful Special Effects and some good action scenes. The plot was even pretty good once about half way through the movie. It kind of reminded me of the matrix.. but not really. Overall, I guess it was a political commentary masked in a movie.

I saw it about a month ago with my girlfriend. We both rated about a 6.5 out of 10. A lot of ethical questions were raised by this movie for sure (I almost thought I was still in class the way we critiqued this movie after watching).

As for the entertainment aspect, I thought that the story line was interesting. Also, the action and twist near the end were good.

Anyways, thats my take.

I do need to plug "Narnia" too, I thought it was an excellent movie. 9.5 out of 10.

The interesting thing about the Island is that the science could be true... I mean, it would take generations to get to that point, but scientifically, I can see that happening... Ethically, I don't know. Who is to say that ethically, this will not be tolerated?

I've yet to see it, but a couple of family members said it wasn't worth watching, and when the two of them say that it's normally worth watching. I may check it out soon.

It's no academy award winning movie, but it's a movie that makes you think...

Sorta a vacation from those action, action, action (NO PLOT) movies..
