Premium Member Diesel Posted February 11, 2006 Premium Member Report Share Posted February 11, 2006 I would have preferred to see us try Delk in the first half when Woody went to a set with JJ as the PG. I think JJ struggled a bit as PG. PLUS, I really liked the Seattle crew who called the game, but man did they point out Ivey's Horrid defense. I had to agree and I'm a homer. Gray Mule
Imagine the interview: Question: What happened? Mike Woodson: We lost. Question: But, do you know why? Mike Woodson: We couldn't score enough to keep up. We went cold in the 4th. quarter and never warmed back up. Quesiton: Tony Delk was active. Why didn't you use him? Mike Woodson: Because I didn't want to. Question: Since he is a veteran and available, he might have been the difference maker. You didn't even consider using him? Mike Woodson: No! I told you, I didn't want to use him. This interview is over. Good by.
Premium Member Diesel Posted February 11, 2006 Author Premium Member Report Share Posted February 11, 2006 Delk: Coach why didn't you put me in? Woody: Well, We have built a continuity with these guys, I have to find the right spots to play you. Your time will come. Later... BK: Good Job Woody. I told you, I don't want to see that Money Hungry Delk playing with my team ever again. Woody: Well, you know he could have made a difference tonight as well as on some of the other nights we played. BK: YOU just don't get it. He's not going to disobey me and then play on my team. That's my team!! When they win, it's my team. When they Lose, it's my team!! My butt is on the line with this team. So, I'm going to play who I want to play!! Win or Lose, Delk doesn't see the floor. I run this team. IF you don't like it, I can have Herb coach my team. I've saved your butt once. Maybe next time I won't feel so compelled.
DrReality
Its reminiscent of the ordeal between Ken Norman and Lenny Wilkines a few years ago. Seems like Woody is hard headed.
Gray Mule
Already once this season, he admitted, "I forgot!" You don't think he is going to make that mistake again, do you? {I don't mean forgetting, I mean admitting it!} I didn't want to -- That sounds more professional than - I forgot!! Oh well. Time to hit the "Rewind button." Hawks play again soon. Can they stay awake thru the 4th??
