Word on the street is that the Chargers won't lock up $10 mil on Brees by designating him their franchise/transition player. Could he come back at a lower price tag? Is it time to start collecting on the Philip Rivers investment? I say no and yes. I'm no medical expert but a torn labrum doesn't sound reassuring in any sense.

I think he'll test the market; won't find anyone offering what he wants and end up back in San Diego.

It's time they play Phil Rivers. He's basically the number 1 pick for christsake. He can't sit on the bench forever.

If he doesn't pan out he can. He's definitely not the number 1 pick by any stretch of the imagination but that isn't determinative either way.

You gotta admit though, he was looking pretty good two years ago. Gotta love players showing up for their contract year.

I also agree that his pricetag is what hurts the most. The Bolts just resigned Feeley to go along with Rivers.

I wonder if Dallas would have any interest?? I think Bledsoe is done as a starting QB... I keep waiting for them to do something at that position. But the only problem is that Bill probably has some loyality to Drew. So who knows.
