Guest Walter
From ESPN insider Hawks: Ira Newble got the nod at shooting guard for the second exhibition game in a row Saturday, and expect him to be in the starting lineup when the season begins in New Jersey on Oct. 30. "His abilities complement the guys in the starting lineup a little better," Lon Kruger told the Atlanta Journal Constitution. "I think, to start with, it's a better fit that way." Expect the Hawks' second unit to include Dion Glover, Nazr Mohammed, Alan Henderson, Darvin Ham and Dan Dickau. "Glover gives us a little more aggressiveness with that next group coming off the bench," Kruger said. "Glove understands that his role is to be aggressive offensively. He doesn't mind that challenge." W
Guest
I hope it's a final choice and that he will not change his mind like he did with the Dickau situation.

Gray Mule
My daddy told me only two men never change their mind. One is dead and the other is a fool! Whatever is best for the team at any given time should be what rules who starts and who don't. I like the idea of a very good offensive force coming in from the bench. Newble proved last season that he can play defense. D.G. can be a very explosive offensive force and should lead the second unit in scoring. Dickau will settle down and be a scorer. Hendu is tough inside and Ham is said to be very good defensively. Nazr has a years experience now at center and this should serve him well this season. C.C., when healthy, is a real competitor and we have Davis or Grizzard to throw in the mix. I really like our bench this season. We have been voted as the most improved tean in the N.B.A. by the people who run the other teams. They should know. Sports writers, on the other hand, have the Hawks rated near the bottom of the east. They don't think we will even make the playoffs. Why? "They" say we have no bench, no point guard and that Big Dawg is a defensive liability. Ha! Ha! Ha! "They" had better look again!! Guest
Well Lon was talking about him getting alot of time right off the bat.Logic is that a Dickau wasn't ready for that type of role Lon wanted right off the bat.Dickau is going to make some mistakes Vaughn didn't last years. It's part of expeirence and Lon should have saw it coming when Dan was drafted. Gray Mule
Dickau has yet to prove that he can be a force in the N.B.A. and it will take quiet a bit of time playing the game, not in practice, but in the actual games, before we know what we have. They are expecting great things from Tinsley this year and we know what kind of rookie year he had. By this time next year, we will know. If we make the playoffs, which I expect us to do, Dickau should be read by then to make an impact. I hope so. Gray Mule
