Zaza and Al are a joke

exodus

Francis drives from outside and Zaza is on one side of the basket and Al is on the other. They watch as Francis dunks right between them.

At least Zaza raised his hand up. Al just stood there with his hands down. He played as much D as I did here sitting on my couch.

Dude seriously wake up.

Shooting comes and goes, but defense can be played every night. There is no excuse for standing under the basket and watching with your hands down as someone drives in and dunks on your basket.

The Hawks interior D is the worst in the league because of Al and Zaza.

So since he hit some shots that makes it ok to let someone dunk in your face without trying to stop them? Nice logic.

The knicks just had a fast break and Al was the only one back. Jalen Rose went in for an uncontested layup. Al did not contest the shot, try to draw a charge or even raise his hands over his head. He was a spectator underneath his own basket.

The interior D is atrocious as usual. The guard tandem of Ivey and Salim have been horrible.

Joe needs help in the backcourt and Smith needs help defending the paint.

Robinson can drive because Zaza doesn't show on the screen, he gets in the lane and gets a 3 pt play on Zaza.Zaza can't stand 5 ft back when his man is setting a pick.

The Knicks scored 62 pts in the paint. That is just pathetic, but it is the story of the season for the Hawks.

While they have made strides in other areas their interior D has shown no improvement. Zaza and Al aren't any better now than they were in november.

Peoriabird you can dream all you want about JJ being a full time pg but no matter what position he plays he needs a better guard to start next to him. Ivey and Salim don't cut it and neither does Childress.

And the Hawks offense has a lot to do with Al and Zaza. You can't jettison your team for a couple blocks and steals. Without them, we'd have been dead in the water tonight. JJ can't do it himself with a sophomore class out there.

Simply put, Zaza is young and a little slow, but AL is experienced and yet he flat out suck defensively 90% of the time.

If we don't score points, we are screwed. This team needs the offense to do it because the defense will not. Nothing we do will immediately impact that. Sorry, but Al is a valuable player for us in that regard.

Last game Al was 2 for 11 and the Hawks lost by 1.

Al's offense is wildly inconsistent, but his defense is very consistent. Consistently absent. And his 9 turnovers tonight against one of the worst defenses in the league was staggering.

And Zaza averages about 11 ppg and shoots a poor percentage as well as being turnover prone. He isn't exactly an offensive beast. He looked like it tonight because they were playing the Knicks.

Zaza is a backup.

So even when Al does well, he sucks? Nice analysis. Zaza is doing very well for a 22 year old from overseas who has been thrust into more minutes than he should be. I think he can be the next Divac. He shows such flashes and people refuse to see it because he isn't Bill Russell. he gets to the line, has a nice stroke from 15-in, and gets some gritty rebounds. PLUS, I saw people bitching about him flopping...well, he is getting some calls ot of it. Imagine what we would look like if we didn't have him after Collier's death. Anyone who thinks he was not an interior upgrade is nuts.

LOL WTF? Vlade was a natural playmaker. Zaza can hardly make two dribbles without turning it over or falling down.

And you still refuse to address the fact that Al continually lets guys score layups right in his face without bothering to even raise his hands over his head. He does this EVERY GAME.

However his offensive outbursts are definitely not the norm.
