I dont know about u, but ive noticed that this years WORLD SERIES has been very very QUIET...

statistics show that this years BIG GAME has very low TV RATINGS... i can see why, its GIANTS vs ANGELS!

i saw todays game 6 (angels victory for those that dont know, series tied 3-3) and i got caught up in the action!

couple things i noticed

1) the angel pitchers got EXTREMELY LUKCY after giving up the big lead.

2) Bonds is amazing! simply amazing! he gets PITCHES that he doesnt even want, and BAM- a home run! hes batting over .500! thats crazy....

game 7 is coming up, and no POSTS about it... pretty sad (not on our part, but MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL....)

anybody else watching this series??? this is the first game ive watched in this series....

The games i've watched have been great. Apart from SF's game 5 blow out, they've been tight, high scoring games. I've been watching them simply because I hope and pray that SF loses. I cannot take another year of hearing the barry bonds is the "greatest player of all time" garbage.

I think that the reason the ratings are down is that both teams don't have very many out of town fans. But it's been great baseball.

while I will not argue that he's one of the best power hitters in history. He's really only seperated himself from the pack over the last two years. And honestly, how much longer does anyone expect him to continue at that pace? Until last year he's never been the best at anything. he's been fairly consistant with his power numbers though. He's also a below average fielder.

Lets also not forget that up until last year he was considered somewhat of a clubhouse cancer in San Francisco. Much like Sheffield when he came to the Braves, many wondered who would want him and why. He's good and one of the best power hitters of all time. But he is far from the best ever. And unless we could see a steroid test history over the last 2-3 years, I'd put an asterisk by his single season home run record (as I would do for mark big mac and sosa).

He's won many awards over the years. But his stats are really only average among other "star level" players.

It isn't about stats.Mark McGwire wasn't even Barry

Bonds league. While Bonds is no Babe Ruth or any

body like that,There is NOBODY over the last several

years that judges the strike zone aswell as Barry

does now.

Whine about steriods all you want, but he sees the

plate better than hitter in today's game.McGwire was

nothing but a free swing. He made more of a effort to

hit HR's than Barry does.

When I watch Barry I wonder why people even attempt

to get him to chase stuff but 90% he doesn't chase bad

pitches.

You can only blame the media.I think Bonds is

the best hitter from the 90's til now almost for

sure. The only way he strikes out is if he decides

to be really aggressive.

It's not just his batting average because Tony G

was no chump. But just the way he picks up the

ball.

There is alot of guys that can hit 40 HR's on a .280

or 300 batting average, but to do it batting .370 is

something.

Just as the Hawks are not the 9th best team in the East

this upcoming season, Barry Bonds is not the greatest

baseball player that ever lived.

The national press get "Carried away" with their braggin'

about things. I, like Chills, heard "The Greatest" so much

that I wanted him to loose.

Babe Ruth, great left handed pitcher in the major leagues

for several years before he became an outfielder and set

the record for most home runs ever hit and the most hit

in a single season, both records standing for a generation.

Jackie Robinson [Dodgers] and Luke Easter [indians]

breaking the color barrier in the major leagues and

putting up those great stats. Can you imagine Barry

Bonds, with his attitude, doing that? No way!

Greatest hitter this season? No doubt! Greatest hitter

in the 21st century? Sure. It's only 2002 now! But,

to say the greatest ever? No way. Too many other

great players have gone before him and accomplished

so much more than he ever will for him to be able to

claim that title. Too much braggin' on one player

insults all those who have gone before.
