cyman3
dont get me wrong guys, the kid is good... but is he more HYPE than GAME? http://espn.go.com/page2/s/rosen/021213.html his problems 1)Ego- "he also refers to himself as a "superhero" and as "Basketball Man." And even worse, after he dunks over an opponent, he's liable to shout "King James!" or "You sorry!"" -some call it attitude, im not too big about attitude if u got the game to back it up. 2)Shooting- we all know he can dunk... but can he shoot? "but in the NBA, James will need to be an effective shooter. The problem here is that his release is a tad too low. Also that he fades slightly when he shoots his jumper. The result is that he holds onto the ball too long and will have some trouble shooting in tight quarters." and "And what about his poor shooting percentage (40 percent)?" -if hes shooting 40% there, hes not going to be shooting 40% in the NBA! 3)Defense- "But his defense is atrocious. His basic defensive stance is much too upright. When defending a perimeter player, his hands are in his pockets. When his team tried a full-court press, one of Oak Hill's guards absolutely left him in the dust." 4)Etc- "He always looks for the easy way out, making perfunctory swipes at the ball, and gambling on every entry pass. His transition from offense to defense is shameful. Instead of hustling downcourt, he lingers near the ball, hoping for a steal. His post-up defense offers less resistance than a soft summer's breeze." OVERALL- "After the media hysteria dies down, after his arrogance is reduced to real humility, he might very well develop into a franchise player. But let's not reserve a wing in the Hall of Fame for LeBron James just yet." now, the big question. Suppose you were a NBA GM, would u take James as ur #1 pick or look elsewhere??? KZ3
He'll be fine. This reporter is blowing LeBron's few weaknesses out of proportion just to be different or to get a story. He won't be a superstar his first couple of years, but not many are. And nobody has come straight out of high school and really been a big factor. Amare Stoudemire, in my opinion, has had the best rookie season so far of any high school to pro player. Critics had a lot to say about his game too. The fact is, most NBA teams have scouted him and they have all agreed that he is worthy of the #1 pick. No Page 2 reporter is going to convince them otherwise. cyman3
i bet these critics said the same things about TRACY MCGRADY and KOBE BRYANT when they were seniors in high schools (not being able to shoot in the NBA/defend/too cocky/etc.)
