Don't hold your breath on a trade....

It's 21 games in the season and the team has not

made the slightest improvement and are still turning

the ball over and not playing any defense.

In my opinion it's time to make some moves before

the Hawks further embarass the city more than

they already have by drawing attention and make

promises(playoffs)they can't keep.

Big Dog and Lon Kruger aswell as the PG positon

are big part of the problem. But honestly, the team

is full of holes as Newble hasn't been effective

this year either.Kruger is really just a college

coach...He tries to make players do things that

don't go with their talents...Like Shareef should

be in the post drawing double teams instead of

getting the ball at the top of circle.

Realizing that Big Dog and Jason Terry have little

trade value I was just wanting some of your

thoughts. Are you looking to make any moves?

Pete says:

I apologize to you for the inconsistent play to date....it is fully my responsibility. We are addressing our weaknesses and shortcomings aggressively, and yes, we would trade anyone on our team if it improved the team. Actually Glenn and JT have pretty signficant trade value, but in today's NBA, it takes more than a team's interest to get a deal done....not only the cap limitations, but now our new luxury tax has come into play in literally all trade talks. We are not looking to move any one individual player, but our approach is to explore the availability of particular players on other rosters and then ascertain what the price would be to obtain such players.

Thank you for showing interest in the team....and we fully intend to do our best to keep commitments we have made....including trying to get back into the playoffs as soon as possible....even with our inconsistent play, we are still in the top eight today....if we start playing up to our level of capability, then we feel strongly that we can be in the middle of the playoff race.

Pete Babcock

But I think I might have got something out of him....

" Actually Glenn and JT have pretty signficant trade value, but in today's NBA, it takes more than a team's interest to get a deal done...."

But I honestly I get the feeling Pete isn't giving up on

the this team.

he had no response to my Lon comments.....

if i was Babcock, heres what i do

1)keep Kruger- theres nothing to do, we are not going to fire him and hire another coach (it just doesnt make sense). If we did, it would bring more embarassment to our organization (we gonna then have to continue to pay Kruger + Lenny + NEW COACH).

2)hope the players improve so Babcock can just stand pat til the summer

3)talk to other GMs (it doesnt hurt to just talk) and try to get some trades going. it doesnt hurt to talk...

but most of them involve laughing at your ideas and assumptions. Try again you have something to say that you haven't cried 100 times before. Thanks.

Why would pete give up on this team? they are clearly better than they were last year and WILL make the playoffs. As many have told you and you seem unable to grasp, this team wasn't designed to play defense. All we have to do is cut down on turnovers. Something that they are capable of doing. Especially considering that most of the players are averaging above their career average in turnovers. JT is fine and we aren't going to get a better PG from anyone. His turnovers have decreased game by game. BigDog is fine, he just needs to be used properly. Newble has been plenty effective defensively. He's just being used too much on offense.

1)What was the last time Newble shut or even

slowed down a decent SG?Kobe was the last

one and that way a long time ago.

2)Turnovers is all? What about the offensive rebounds

the team gives up?Do they not count? What about all

the times the Hawks are outworked....Does that not

count?

3)What about the road record?they aren't going to win

9 out of every 11 home games.2-11 road team is not

a good basketball team...I'm sorry but it is not.

"Why would pete give up on this team? they are clearly better than they were last year and WILL make the playoffs."

If you look at stats and the paper, but the NBA doesn't

work that way.

The turnovers aren't coming down on a consisant basis...

Hello we have no good ball handlers including JT.You can

talk about Kidd all you want but he plays at a faster tempo

so of course his TO's are going to be high.

"His turnovers have decreased game by game. BigDog is fine, he just needs to be used properly."

Go ask the Bucks fans...Big Hog has always been a high

turnover player.

"As many have told you and you seem unable to grasp, this team wasn't designed to play defense."

[censored] [censored]...your not going to convince me giving

up 100PPG is no big deal.Sorry charlie. There is no

excuse for giving up 100PPG.

Petes weak of response that they are clinging onto 8th

seed is pure laughter. We have a losing freakin record.

But hey, Babcock has always been the standard of mediocrity and the fans know it.They know what

Pete Babcock stands for.....MEDIOCRITY.

JT decision making has been poor this year and

so far he really hasn't been a factor. His impact

this year has been less and he is the worst defensive

PG in the league...He gets beat on screens so easy.

The reason JT's defense is so bad this year is

because he is lazy and thinks Theo will block

everything....That is why JT's defense is worse

this year than last year.....He was playing good

defense at PG last year.

Did you hear the fans booing???The crowd is usally

quiet, but they were booing a pretty good bit tonight

and I hope Babcock heard it well as he was at the

game.I'm glad I am not going to meet babcock...I'd

for sure make him remember all of his mistakes.

The fans would be more accepting if house was cleaned.

Stan/Pete and Lon can all take a walk.

It sounded ALOT like booing at one part to me.i think

it was in the 3rd period.Steve javie....He has always

hated the Hawks....Remember how he tried to [censored]

the hawks out of playoff games againest Detroit in

the late 90's.That fool has always hated the team.
