Of course, Seattle would also owe us a first rounder to go with this trade.

However, what we are left with is:

Anderson/Dickau

Mason/Wilkes/Glover

Barry/Ira/Hamm

SAR/Hendu

Theo/Nazr

Actually, this trade would need some reworking. I don't think Seattle would buy it just like this...

This is the real deal:

Atlanta trades: C Theo Ratliff (7.7 ppg, 7.2 rpg, 0.9 apg in 29.3 minutes)

PF Chris Crawford (4.8 ppg, 1.4 rpg, 0.2 apg in 7.6 minutes)

PG Jason Terry (17.1 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 7.6 apg in 37.9 minutes)

Atlanta receives: PG Kenny Anderson (3.3 ppg, 1.8 rpg, 2.6 apg in 11.9 minutes)

  C Vitaly Potapenko (3.2 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 0.0 apg in 17.6 minutes)

SF Desmond Mason (13.4 ppg, 6.7 rpg, 1.3 apg in 32.9 minutes)

Change in team outlook: -9.7 ppg, +1.6 rpg, and -4.8 apg.

1st round pick.

Theo is good but he's not untradeable. The key in this trade is Desmond Mason. A true SG that can play defense. Kenny Anderson can help either Dickau or Wilkes along with running the offense. For our kind service, we get a first round pick. NOT that we are rebuilding, however, I feel that Theo/JT are worth much more than Just Mason.

Nazr/Hendu/Potapenko will platoon at C.

with Shareef/Big Dog/Mason being major players at the 4, 3, and 2. Our money will have to be on Kenny Anderson delivering like last yr and the offense being more organized.

All that said, I'm not sure if that makes us better. however, I know that Mason is a better 2 than JT. Also I know that Luke Ridenour will be available for next season.

I don't think that it makes us better...and JT can shoot the long ball much better than Desmond...though the later is more athletic and has the hops...

and Barry at the 3? I'd rather reverse the two and have Mason's jumping ability working on the boards...

regardless, I doubt Seattle would do it...

.....to make the deal would come from.

I toyed with the idea of a JT/GRob/Crawford(filler) to Seattle for Kenny Anderson/Brent Barry/Desmond Mason deal, but after I got to looking at what Seattle had and what they would be bringing in, I don't see why they would take on Glen Robinson.

If they got Terry, they would pair Terry and Payton in the backcourt. Rashard Lewis is their small forward, and unless his injury is greater than anyone has let on, I don't see why they would trade for Robinson and pay their small forwards 60% of their cap.

Kenny Anderson is a player I would like to get though.

I came to that conclusion too.

That's why the second trade Theo/JT for would be better for them. However, for it to be good for us, we'd have to get a lot of compensation. Namely, Barry and a good C.

There's Barry, Potapenko, Radmo...

or there's Lewis/Potapenko.

That might work but I'm afraid of Lewis' BYC Status.
