Plainview1981 Posted September 21, 2006 Report Share Posted September 21, 2006 This film is so in love with it's self that it's not even funny. Don't get me wrong, Downey Jr is great in this film... But it spends so much time trying to be hip and clever that it just failed to entertain me. I laughed at some of it, but mostly it's one long movie about one hip tongue in cheek joke after another and fails to deliever anything else. If it had offered some better action to balance things out I would have had a totally different view of this film. You got to have some balance. It's just a bunch of tonue in cheek jokes crammed together in a movie... It get's to the point to where it just feels like a gimmick. Good comedy never feels forced... Sometimes it want's to be an action movie, sometimes a thriller... More or less it comes off as a spoof movie of films like Lethal Weapon/48 Hrs and other buddy cop flicks. About KKBB, I just thought it didn't flow well and there's really nothing around the jokes. I think apart of good comedy is improvising and I didn't sense there was much of that here.
