Premium Member Diesel Posted January 2, 2003 Premium Member Report Share Posted January 2, 2003 Do you think that there's a defense oriented team that would throw us a bone if we were to give up Theo? I'll be back with a suggestion.
Premium Member Diesel Posted January 2, 2003 Author Premium Member Report Share Posted January 2, 2003 Atlanta trades: SF Darvin Ham (2.4 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 0.4 apg in 12.5 minutes) SG Emanual Davis (3.7 ppg, 1.8 rpg, 1.5 apg in 14.2 minutes) SF Dion Glover (7.8 ppg, 2.4 rpg, 1.2 apg in 17.6 minutes) C Theo Ratliff (7.8 ppg, 7.1 rpg, 0.8 apg in 29.1 minutes) Atlanta receives: SF Aaron McKie (9.7 ppg, 4.6 rpg, 4.1 apg in 33.6 minutes) C Todd MacCulloch (8.3 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 0.6 apg in 22.4 minutes) I figure with DC being gone at the end of the season, Philly could play it's cards right and bring in a PF like.... Oneal. Theo/Oneal/Van Horn/Iverson/Snow.
Premium Member Diesel Posted January 2, 2003 Author Premium Member Report Share Posted January 2, 2003 Atlanta trades: PF Chris Crawford (4.8 ppg, 1.4 rpg, 0.2 apg in 7.6 minutes) C Theo Ratliff (7.8 ppg, 7.1 rpg, 0.8 apg in 29.1 minutes) Atlanta receives: C Michael Doleac (4.7 ppg, 2.9 rpg, 0.4 apg in 14.5 minutes) SF Latrell Sprewell (15.2 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 4.4 apg in 37.6 minutes) Change in team outlook: +7.3 ppg, -2.6 rpg, and +3.8 apg. New York trades: C Michael Doleac (4.7 ppg, 2.9 rpg, 0.4 apg in 14.5 minutes) SF Latrell Sprewell (15.2 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 4.4 apg in 37.6 minutes) New York receives: PF Chris Crawford (4.8 ppg, 1.4 rpg, 0.2 apg in 5 games) C Theo Ratliff (7.8 ppg, 7.1 rpg, 0.8 apg in 30 games) Change in team outlook: -7.3 ppg, +2.6 rpg, and -3.8 apg. TRADE ACCEPTED we trade one C with defensive ability for a guy that Sucks... In the deal, we get Spreewell. He's not a great player, but.... He can handle the ball somewhat. I would actually move Hendu to Starting C. It's working for Miami. Hendu/SAR/Grob/Spree/JT. The good thing is that we get out of CC's contract and we get a big C in Doleac. The bad news is that there's no more shot blocking... BUT.... Offensively we could come together.
Premium Member Diesel Posted January 2, 2003 Author Premium Member Report Share Posted January 2, 2003 Atlanta trades: SF Dion Glover (7.8 ppg, 2.4 rpg, 1.2 apg in 17.6 minutes) C Theo Ratliff (7.8 ppg, 7.1 rpg, 0.8 apg in 29.1 minutes) Atlanta receives: PG Randy Brown (2.0 ppg, 0.7 rpg, 0.5 apg in 8.8 minutes) SG Joe Johnson (6.5 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 2.0 apg in 20.0 minutes) PF Bo Outlaw (3.8 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 1.4 apg in 22.3 minutes) Change in team outlook: -3.3 ppg, -2.3 rpg, and +1.9 apg. Phoenix trades: PG Randy Brown (2.0 ppg, 0.7 rpg, 0.5 apg in 8.8 minutes) SG Joe Johnson (6.5 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 2.0 apg in 20.0 minutes) PF Bo Outlaw (3.8 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 1.4 apg in 22.3 minutes) Phoenix receives: SF Dion Glover (7.8 ppg, 2.4 rpg, 1.2 apg in 27 games) C Theo Ratliff (7.8 ppg, 7.1 rpg, 0.8 apg in 30 games) Change in team outlook: +3.3 ppg, +2.3 rpg, and -1.9 apg. TRADE ACCEPTED With Amare Stoudamire there pulling down all the boards and being a monster in the middle, Maybe this trade would add value to Their roster. I mean, Theo does block shots. For us, it gives us Joe Johnson and Randy brown. Brown is on the last yr of his contract and would mean cap relief in the summer. However, Johnson... Playing SG... I think he is the young Penny. There's also a deal that would get us Old Penny but WHY?
Guest
With Jacobson playing the way that he is, and Steph/ Marion running things so much... I revert to my previous trade idea of sending them Atlanta trades: SF Glenn Robinson (20.5 ppg, 7.3 rpg, 2.9 apg in 37.7 minutes) C Nazr Mohammed (2.6 ppg, 2.2 rpg, 0.1 apg in 10.9 minutes) Atlanta receives: C Jake Voskuhl (2.7 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 0.6 apg in 12.8 minutes) SG Joe Johnson (6.5 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 2.0 apg in 20.0 minutes) SG Anfernee Hardaway (10.9 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 4.5 apg in 30.7 minutes) Change in team outlook: -3.0 ppg, +1.8 rpg, and +4.1 apg. Phoenix trades: C Jake Voskuhl (2.7 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 0.6 apg in 12.8 minutes) SG Joe Johnson (6.5 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 2.0 apg in 20.0 minutes) SG Anfernee Hardaway (10.9 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 4.5 apg in 30.7 minutes) Phoenix receives: SF Glenn Robinson (20.5 ppg, 7.3 rpg, 2.9 apg in 30 games) C Nazr Mohammed (2.6 ppg, 2.2 rpg, 0.1 apg in 9 games) Change in team outlook: +3.0 ppg, -1.8 rpg, and -4.1 apg. TRADE ACCEPTED Due to Atlanta and Phoenix being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. Atlanta and Phoenix had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The bigger better Jake is on the ir after back surgery for two plus months. Joe Johnson hasn't done anything during his tenure there or in Boston...we could give him a shot, why not. And Marion's out for a little bit... I know that Penny's skills aren't what they were, but he's still pretty much what this team needs to couple in the backcourt iwth JT and they'd get out of his contract... KB21
....And that is something the Hawks don't need to do. They do not need to commit big money to an overpriced, injury ravaged veteran long term. There is only one possible deal out there that will net the Hawks a player that will be able to play with Jason Terry in the back court, and there may be two ways of getting the deal done. Trade 1 Hawks get Jalen Rose Bulls get Glenn Robinson and Dion Glover Trade 2 Hawks get Jalen Rose and Eddy Curry Bulls get Glenn Robinson and Nazr Mohammed Robinson would fit in Chicago. They want Jason Williams to initiate the offense, but Rose wants to dominate the ball himself. Robinson doesn't want to dominate the ball. He just wants to shoot the ball when he gets a chance. The deal would rid the Bulls of a potential rift on their team while adding a much needed scorer and depth at the shooting guard position (Glover). The Hawks would get Jalen Rose and use him as a point forward that initiates the offense. This would allow Jason Terry to play without the ball and allow Ira Newble to concentrate on his defensive assignments.
Guest
Right now, to trade any of our players, we're going to have to take something in return that the other team wants to be rid of...why else would they want to help us, esp. with our players' weaknesses being so exposed right now (Glen and his to's and poor ballhandling, poor being a very nice term, and JT and his somewhat suspect D and troubles "truly" running the point..) that's why I like the trade. it's the only way we'd get a playoff bound team to do something like that, take something in return that they don't really want/ want to be rid of... trying to be realistic
Premium Member Diesel Posted January 3, 2003 Author Premium Member Report Share Posted January 3, 2003 Neither Matrix or Robinson can play SG. Both Matrix and Robinson has to play.
Guest
Watching him more and more...Robinson might be better off at PF - he'd have to handle the ball much less. Then you run into the problem of moving Amare to C...and Outlaw's been playing well as of late...
